After she's claimed by the ruler of the moon court. A being who's dark beauty and lethal power are only whispered about. But will being claimed by him mean her downfall or will it reveal secrets that could change everything.
The rain poured down, drumming against the leaves and casting a misty veil over the forest. A lone figure, cloaked in darkness, ran through the torrent, their footsteps splashing in the puddles. They carried a bundle wrapped in cloth, cradled in their arms, as if it was their most precious possession.
The figure burst into a clearing, revealing a village surrounded by a large stone wall, reinforced with iron bars. They sprinted towards the entrance, their breath visible in the chill air. Once inside, they raced through the streets, their eyes darting around frantically.
The figure dashed into an alleyway, stopping to catch their breath. They gazed down at the bundle, their hands cradling it protectively. The wrapping was soggy and worn, but they held it tight.
As they paused, they spotted a man entering the nearby tavern. They watched, hidden in the shadows, as he disappeared into the warm glow within.
With a deep breath, the figure approached the tavern, the rain soaking their cloak. They gently placed the bundle in a box on the steps, pulling back their hood to reveal a beautiful woman - the baby's mother. She loosened the wrapping, revealing a sleeping baby girl. With a tender touch, she removed a necklace and placed it on the baby's chest.
The mother's eyes welled up with tears as she stroked the baby's face. "Oh, little one," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion. "I'll miss you so much. May the gods watch over you." She paused, collecting her thoughts. "May you find a better life than I could ever give you."
With a heavy heart, she knocked on the door and dashed off into the rain, leaving the baby and the box behind. The door creaked open, and a warm light spilled out, illuminating the sleeping baby.
