I have heard a lot of rumors and gossip about Alexander Reddington - How he had gotten rich at a young age, without any family connection or inherited wealth. I am curious and I wanted to find out the truth. I signed a contract to marry him, In order to investigate. But as I get closer to him, I began to fall in love with him. I was turn between my work and my heart

Chapter 1 I have signed it

"Don't worry about the rules, I will sign any paper you want me to and I will follow any rules that are put in place"

He looked at me, a flicker of surprise crossing his face. He was clearly not expecting such declaration

"Do you know after signing it, there is no turn back again"

I nodded my head and he gave me the paper, without thinking twice, I signed it and handed it to him.

"I have signed it, now I need to go home to take some of my clothes"

"You do not need to go home, everything you need to live except from your breath is provided in my house, just wait for me here, let me complete what I am doing, then we go home. You are going nowhere, you are mine now" the words chilled down my spine, but never will I regret making the decision.

"What?" I said silently, but regardless I am not going to say No. What I am here to do is more important, signing a six month contract with him is what I have been longing for, now that I have gotten it, I need to handle it with care.

Thirty minutes later, he was done with what he was doing, then we went to his house.

I knew that one of the rules of the contract is that you are always with him throughout the period of the contract.

I went to his house, and it was exactly what people have been saying, the house was marble and gold, there were works of art on every wall, it looked like a museum but luxurious. How can a guy in his twenties accomplish this without connections or any inherited wealth, there must be something behind this and that is what I am here to find out.

I have an account on major social media platforms, with the name Anonymous Investigator. I post accurate information by verifying them before I post.

Nobody knew I was the one behind it except from my friend, Isabella who is also a journalist.

When I informed Isabella that I would be coming here to find out the truth about Alexander, she said she had been waiting for me to announce that because she trusts me to do that. This is no longer a job, but a passion.

My heart beat faster while observing the surroundings. I have been in some pretty impressive houses but nothing had prepared me for this. I smiled because my mission is about to be accomplished and my goal is within my reach.

"What is your name again?" I was drawn back to reality when I heard that.

"Huh! I am Rachel Wilson"

"Alright, Karina, Karina" He called out to one of the maids.

She came out, and bowed her head.

"This is our new Miss, her name is Rachel"

Well, with my research I knew he never had a girlfriend, what he just did was to sign a contract with them for a period of time.

"Rachel, this is Karina, anytime you need anything, just let her know"

"Alright, thank you, Karina, nice to meet you"

"Thank you ma'am, follow me, I will show you your room" She uttered, and I followed her.

"This is your room, anytime you need anything, let me know, I will be coming to check you up"

"Alright" I smiled, and she left.

"Mission is about to be accomplished" I screamed joyfully.

It was getting late already, Karina called me to go and eat at the dining room.

I went to the Dining and saw Alexander opening the food.

He ate three spoons and went to the dining room.

"Maybe he is not hungry" I said silently.

I wonder why they had cooked so much food just for the two of us, this is giving me reason to keep suspecting him. Why would he allow them to cook this much if he would only eat three spoons?

"Why is he not eating?" I was forced to ask from the maids.

"He do not eat much, today he ate three spoon and sometimes he won't even eat it"

I nodded my head.

I ate a lot of food I could consume, because I can't even stand wasting all of that food.

I went to my room thinking of ways I could access him more, though, I am living in his house, but he doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with me.

I was still thinking when I heard a knock on my door, "Open" I said.

It was Karina.

"How are you doing?" I asked

"Fine, master said he needs you in his room, do you mind showing you his room"

"Yes" I said sharply and we both went to his room, when I was about to enter, she left.

I froze at the door because I was drawn by his look. He is tall with a broad shoulder and a slim waist.

When I entered, he was putting on a white singlet and a pink boxer. I can't help but admire him, I was unable to take my eyes away from him

I stared at him for about two minutes before I was drawn to reality.

"Karina said you need me" I tried sounding confidently.

"Yes, come closer"

He was sitting at the bed, I knew he was up to something, still I went closer.

I was putting on a short shirt and he used one of his hands to unbutton them, he brought one of my boobs out from the shirt and sucked.

I wanted to stop him, this isn't what I am here for, I have a boyfriend, but I didn't stop him because I have to go miles to find out the truth.

"Ouch ouch" I faked my moarn

Two minutes later, I said "Why don't we drink, so we can get high then do whatever we want"

He thought about it, and replied "No problem, go and get a drink at the living room"

I rushed out to the living room and took an alcoholic drink.

While heading to his office earlier today, I had a sleeping tablet kept in my pocket.

So I grinded it and mixed it with the drink, and I took the drink to his room.

Without thinking twice, he drank it.

"Tonight, I will deal with you" He said and laughed broadly.

"I am ready for you too" I smiled.

I watched him sleep, and I began to check his drawer if there was anything I could find as evidence against his rapid wealth. Just then he stirred and opened his eyes.

"What are you doing there?"

I spent four hours preparing a five-course meal for our fifth anniversary. When Jackson finally walked into the penthouse an hour late, he didn't even look at the table. He just dropped a thick Manila envelope in front of me and told me he was done. He said his stepsister, Davida, was getting worse and needed "stability." I wasn't his wife; I was a placeholder, a temporary fix he used until the woman he actually loved was ready to take my place. Jackson didn't just want a divorce; he wanted to erase me. He called me a "proprietary asset," claiming that every design I had created to save his empire belonged to him. He froze my bank accounts, cut off my phone, and told me I’d be nothing without his name. Davida even called me from her hospital bed to flaunt the family heirloom ring Jackson claimed was lost, mocking me for being "baggage" that was finally being cleared out. I stood in our empty home, realizing I had spent five years being a martyr for a man who saw me as a transaction. I couldn't understand how he could be so blind to the monster he was protecting, or how he could discard me so coldly after I had given him everything. I grabbed my hidden sketchbook, shredded our wedding portrait, and walked out into the rain. I dialed a number I hadn't touched in years—a dangerous man known as The Surgeon who dealt in debts and shadows. I told him I was ready to pay his price. Jackson and Davida wanted to steal my identity, but I was about to show the world the literal scars they had left behind.

For four years, I traced the bullet scar on Chace’s chest, believing it was proof he would bleed to keep me safe. On our anniversary, he told me to wear white because "tonight changes everything." I walked into the gala thinking I was getting a ring. Instead, I stood frozen in the center of the ballroom, drowning in silk, watching him slide his mother's sapphire onto another woman's finger. Karyn Warren. The daughter of a rival family. When I begged him with my eyes to claim me, to save me from the public humiliation, he didn't flinch. He just leaned toward his Underboss, his voice amplified by the silence. "Karyn is for power. Ember is for pleasure. Don't confuse the assets." My heart didn't just break; it incinerated. He expected me to stay as his mistress, threatening to dig up my dead mother’s grave if I refused to play the obedient pet. He thought I was trapped. He thought I had nowhere to go because of my father’s massive gambling debts. He was wrong. With shaking hands, I pulled out my phone and texted the one name I was never supposed to use. Keith Mosley. The Don. The monster under Chace's bed. *I am invoking the Blood Oath. My father’s debt. I am ready to pay it.* His reply came three seconds later, buzzing against my palm like a warning. *The price is marriage. You belong to me. Yes or No?* I looked up at Chace, who was laughing with his new fiancée, thinking he owned me. I looked down and typed three letters. *Yes.*
