Chapter 1 Coming Back Home

"Hello? Eomma! Yes, yes I'm already at the airport." Sohyun said.

"Are you sure you don't want us to pick you up?" Her mother asked.

"No, I'm fine. I don't want to bother you. Besides, I already booked a cab and it's going to be here any minute now." She said.

"Will you be okay alone at the rest house? You could still stay here with us if you like?" Her mother asked.

"It's okay Eomma. I'll be fine don't worry. And besides you know me, I prefer peace and quiet. The city is just too much for me. The seaside is perfect, it could really help me with my next novel." Sohyun said.

"Alright if that's what you want. But please let us know if you need anything okay? We'll see you soon. We love you." Her mother said.

"I will Eomma. Thanks. See you too. I love you too. Bye." She said before hanging up.

It didn't take long before Sohyun's ride arrived. As soon as the car arrived, the driver quickly got out of the car and helped her with her luggage. She then got inside the car and soon they were speeding down the road.

It's been ten years since she left Korea and now she's back. Sohyun can't help but look outside the car window as they move along the road. A lot has changed since the last time she came home, everything now is unfamiliar to her. She was already lost in her thoughts and didn't realize the driver was talking to her.

"Sorry Mister what was it you're saying?" Sohyun asked.

"I said, I hope you don't mind me asking. But, are you a celebrity?" The driver asked taking her aback.

"Huh? Uhm, no, I'm not. I'm far from it, I'm a novelist. What made you think so Mister?" She chuckled.

"Well, not to sound like an old creep, it's just that you really looked pretty. Your facial features are really good. Anyone could easily mistake you for one. Didn't you ever consider becoming one? You know, with Kpop and Kdrama, our country has become very famous even abroad. Some of our celebrities even starred in famous Hollywood movies. I've been a driver for years and I'd often see fans and reporters gathering outside the airport to see their idols. It gets pretty crazy sometimes I tell you." The driver said animatedly.

"Ah no, I'm a very shy and private person. I'm not really good with crowds so, I think that world is too much for me." She smiled.

"That's too bad, with your looks, you'll definitely become very popular. Very famous." The driver added.

"Thanks for the compliment, Mister. But living the famous like is just not for me." Sohyun said.

"Besides, one celebrity in the family is more than enough." She told herself.

Kim Sohyun is the younger and only sister of one of the 3rd generation famous boyband "EXO"'s leader, Kim Junmyeon also known by his stage name Suho.

Her older brother's career choice was the very reason why she had decided to go and study abroad ten years ago.

Coming from a rather wealthy and well-educated family, the Kim children are the epitome of model students. And with their added good looks, a lot of students and teachers admire them.

Her brother Suho is three years older than her. Back when they were in Elementary school, her brother was the class president and the vice chairman of the student body, he would also always rank as one of the top five students in his class.

Their oldest brother is no different. It actually comes as no surprise that all three children are intelligent, their parents are both educators. Their father is a professor while their mother used to be a teacher as well. As the youngest, Sohyun was always expected to fill her brothers' shoes and to live up to their parents' name.

But despite all that pressure of living up to the family name, Sohyun didn't mind. She's doing well at school herself and she'd always succeeded on things that she set her mind to, with that being said, their parents couldn't be any prouder.

But things went awry when her older brother Suho decided to audition and become a trainee under SM Entertainment, one of the top three entertainment companies in the country. For unknown reasons even up to this day, the once beloved Sohyun became the center of bullying. It had gotten so bad that she pleaded with her parents to allow her to live abroad with their relatives despite her very young age.

Despite the emotional trauma, she never once blamed nor hated her bother for his career choice, truth is, she loved him to bits. She was very proud of him and what he had accomplished over the years. It's just that the pain and suffering she experienced became too much for her young heart to handle that it took her ten years to have the courage to go back to her home country.

Soon they arrived at Daebudo Pension Town in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province where their family's rest house stood.

It was a hundred-square-meter, two-story modern house. It has a beautiful back garden and a rooftop terrace perfect for barbecuing and star gazing.

The beach is also just a couple of blocks away. If she ever gets bored from being cooped up, she could always go there for a walk and enjoy the sea air.

Sohyun got out of the car, stood in front of the house, as the driver gently dropped off her luggage, memories of her childhood filled her mind. She and her brothers grew up in Gangnam but her family often stayed in that house during summer vacation or whenever they wanted to relax.

The small town is perfect for those who would want to have some peace and quiet, it's a safe haven. The town folks are also all warm and friendly. As a novelist, this place is exactly what Sohyun needs.

As soon as her ride left, she then proceeded inside the house and unpacked her belongings.
