Eighteen years ago, a friendship among three young people - Princess Sabrina, Guilherme, and Diego - fell apart under the weight of passion and betrayal. Sabrina and Guilherme's love ignited an irreconcilable hatred in Diego, leading to an unexpected pregnancy with twins, separated at birth by a dark secret. Now, Mayara, an orphaned young woman with jade green eyes and long black hair with reddish highlights, receives a mysterious letter promising to reveal her true identity. Her search takes her to Mexico, where family secrets, political disputes, and the underworld of the mafia intertwine. Among the dangerous charm of Santiago Diaz - the ruthless heir with honey-colored eyes who publicly declares his love for her - and the possessive protection of Prince Arthur - blond with violet-gray eyes, who returns furious to win her back - Mayara finds herself caught in an intense, deadly love triangle. While Santiago offers a treasure hunt that could change destinies, and Arthur, dressed in a black leather jacket over his Harley Davidson, is determined to face any enemy, Mayara struggles to find clues that could save her life and decide her own heart. In the end, one thing is certain: in a game of love, revenge, and power, no one leaves unscathed.

ENEMIES OF REALITY:MAFIA MYSTERY Chapter 1 prologue: an extreme situation about the life

Mayara arrives five minutes early at the café described on Arthur's stained note, sitting at the table she reserved, waiting for him while he drinks his coffee. Arthur arrived on his Harley Davidson without making a fuss. He had a serious expression, Mayara thought, already guessing the content of the friendly conversation: Santiago. He was the subject to be discussed by the prince, who sat down at the table, snorting, looking her coldly in the eye and ordering coffee.

Mayara put her hand to her chin, thinking. Ever since Santiago publicly announced his treasure hunt challenge, people have been unable to think straight: 25% of Santiago's estimated fortune was transcribed into precious jewels hidden in the most unusual places, leaving people unable to decipher his plan, what this fortune hunt proposed by Santiago really represents

"Let me tell you something else", Arthur shouted " nobody knows the secrets, the stories about his "treasure". Apart from you! You're alike in everything.... you knew that, and it's disappointing, Mayara."

"You don't know anything or what Arthur says! I didn't betray you or anyone else! I just offered Santiago a shoulder to lean on! In exchange for that, I've been used by all of you in these insane games all these months."

Both of their moods were altered, and Mayara knew that her options were few because of her close relationship with Santiago and being his confidant in days gone by. Regarding the challenge proposed by Santiago, some were already planning what to do or say about how they would get or spend the money, and the truth was that this would ruin "diplomatic" relations even more.

Santiago was an eccentric multimillionaire, but this mask hid the facet of a criminal sociopath, and she didn't agree with that.

Arthur slammed his coffee cup down on the table, annoyed. the girl he had secretly been in love with for a long time was no longer the same girl he had met at the boarding school where he had studied. something had changed, but her naivety was evident. And she was hiding secrets, omitting the truth about the questions he was asking. He could no longer trust her like that, so he decided to confront her to get the truth out. He wasn't impressed by her nervousness, knowing the risks of her situation.

"What about it? "

Mayara took a deep breath with a spark of anger in her voice and then retorted:

" Look, I've been parachuted into this situation, okay? in the middle of it all, and you can't just accuse me... of anything."

A scandalous noise was soon heard, along with the chaos that broke out in the cafeteria and interrupted them, as people screamed and tried to protect themselves from the rain of shattered glass spreading everywhere. Mayara and Arthur quickly looked at each other and turned in the direction of the sound, looking back as black SUVs and armored sports cars approached, speeding up the enclosure.

From inside one of them, smiling very maliciously, Santiago Diaz emerged with guns and subordinates pointing randomly at people, causing the girl to freeze as she stood up. Santiago greets her:

" Mayara Angelina, Prince Arthur, good afternoon. I see your coffee was fun. I'm afraid I haven't introduced myself properly - Santiago made a feigned bow to them: " I'm Santiago Diaz, the bored creator of this fun treasure hunt. I'll explain what this challenge is all about..."

"the start of the race is very simple: you are already aware of the jewels scattered all over the country with random pieces of maps scattered in every corner. we will select from all the guests in this deadly situation only 6 people qualified to decipher. a beep and a screen were projected. " Some respectable local politicians have horrendous connections with the mafia. No one wants to be found out, right? it's up to you. whoever survives the twenty-one days of the treasure hunt without injury or accident takes it all. It's a risky but tempting game. The lives of your family depend on it. I advise you not to back out. There will be a contract soon after."

Mayara and Arthur looked at each other and swallowed.

"Santiago!", said Mayara . "This treasure hunt shouldn't have even begun..."

"It's just started, my beauty , I've already told you that when I go for something, I go all the way! Whether you like it or not, everyone is taking part..."

Santiago advanced in a threatening manner, causing Arthur and Mayara to back away;

" Everyone wants the money, Mayara. Everyone wants something. And me, I want something different". Santiago approaches Mayara, touches her hair. "I'm looking for entertainment, and above all.... revenge."

Both Arthur and Mayara froze under Santiago's gun, who was having fun studying their psyches.

" I see that you're quiet because of what I've said. But there's more; only one of you will go on to the next stage of the challenge: 250 million is good money. I know you think I'm crazy, but my craziness is going to make someone rich" . Santiago had a lunatic grin on his face ." who's going to win?"

Gripping the handle of the gun tightly, he saw Mayara make a brave reaction. She came at him while Arthur remained passive in the situation, when Santiago turned the gun on both of them and fired.

What's next?

Arthur falls to the ground in pain. Mayara advances on Santiago with red in her eyes, and is pushed by him, who laughs and turns back waving his hand.

'' All in good time. Your deadline will pass. What do you want to do?"

He wiggled his fingers and Mayara ran to try to help Arthur. He needed hospital, and she had to go after Santiago. Arthur asks her to call his father, while he is in Mayara's arms. Santiago laughs and gets into the car and drives off.

The police arrived shortly afterwards with the ambulance, already aware of what had happened. While they were being taken away, Mayara wondered what had led to all this, what was really going to stop Santiago.

When it was bad, the situation could get even worse. Nothing worse than a mafia family member being dangerous. All of that was in question. And it had started with other people's mistakes eighteen years ago. How was that possible, Mayara told herself. It wasn't possible! Eighteen years before so much unthinking trouble. A war started by people's bad choices. Santiago's gaze terrified her intensely, as if he had waited so long to put an end to it all... in the most vile and senseless of ways.

" Within a mafia family or clan, Mayara, we make vows and alliances and swear to keep secrets. You know that. Diego knew."

Mayara saw Arthur turn pale and confused at this. She felt no fear in the face of the foolish threats that man was making. It would never get to her.

For Mayara, that treasure hunt was the fruit of a mind sick with revenge for an evil perpetrated so many years ago. deadly situation are hard to come back.

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

As I lay on the floor of our manor, bleeding out from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, I used my last ounce of strength to call my husband, Cole. I begged him for help, my vision blurring. But the only thing I heard was the clinking of champagne glasses and his mistress's giggle in the background. "Stop the drama, June," Cole snapped, his voice cold. "We're about to go on stage. Don't call again." He hung up, leaving me to die alone on the Persian rug while he accepted an award with another woman on his arm. I woke up in the hospital days later. My baby was gone. They had removed my fallopian tube. Cole finally arrived, smelling of expensive scotch and his mistress's perfume. He didn't hug me. He didn't cry. Instead, he leaned over my hospital bed, pressing his knee into the mattress until my fresh stitches tore open and bled. "You embarrassed me by calling an ambulance," he hissed. "My mistress, Alycia, says you're faking it. Clean yourself up." He left me bleeding again to go announce a $10 million donation to Alycia's "groundbreaking" medical research. I stared at the TV screen, numb. The research Alycia was taking credit for? It was mine. I wrote that patent years ago under a pseudonym. They thought I was just a poor, orphan housewife who needed Cole's money to survive. They had no idea I was actually a billionaire scientist hiding my identity. I pulled the IV needle out of my arm. A drop of blood fell onto the divorce papers I had been hiding. I didn't wipe it off. I signed my name right over it. Then I walked into the bank, reactivated my dormant account with $128 million, and bought the penthouse directly overlooking Cole's house. The mourning widow is dead. The avenger is born.

HONEY MULLINS

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I've returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders-the man I was told was a crippled recluse-intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I'd cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent-the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower's security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy-Archibald's secret son-wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald's face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.
