Secret Baby For The Billionaire CEO Chapter 1 ONE

JULIE

"I was not expecting you" I smiled as Adam walked into my apartment.

I closed the door behind him and walked straight into his arms, inhaling his masculine scent and loving the steady thrumming of his heartbeat close to my ears.

His eyes were vacant as I stared up at him, like his mind was very far away and I wondered what the problem was.

"We have to end whatever this is" He muttered in a low voice.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, while he pushed me away.

"We cannot continue whatever this is" He repeated, running a hand through his hair.

I said nothing, waiting for him to tell me he was joking and he loved me... like he always said.

"But I thought..."

"You thought what?" He quipped. "Thinking is not exactly your forte, Julie... you should stick to sucking cocks; now that is something you are very good at" He smirked.

"Stop saying that" I squeaked, wondering where all these was coming from.

"You did not think that I would choose you over the numerous celebrity women flocking me daily in public? That I will jeopardize my business and career because of you?" He stopped me, his words slapping me into crude reality.

"Come on, Julie... we have had our fun and honestly, you were the best distraction. As much as I want this to continue, you are becoming too clingy and I cannot have that" He smiled, reaching for my cheek and caressing it softly.

"This is the end of whatever this is" He muttered with a tone of finality.

"You cannot do this to me" I muttered more to myself than him, my mind buzzing with crazy thoughts.

It is a joke... a prank. He is probably teasing and hoping to see my reaction, my scattered thoughts concocted.

I so desperately wanted it to be a bad dream and something I would soon wake up from but when I pinched myself slowly, it fucking hurt.

It was no bad dream, I told myself. This was happening.

"I do not want this to be messy but I will have you know that you are just my assistant and if you think the public is going to give a fuck about you should this news be made known to everyone then you are solely mistaken. I am the golden boy here... the billionaire and you are the gold-digging assistant who fucked her boss so she can climb up the social ladder"

I gasped, the tears streaming down my cheeks as I stared at the man in front of me. I did not recognize him and he wasn't the loving man who treated me so gently... he was a fucking bastard.

"Adam..." I began

"I had you sign a non-disclosure so the court will definitely rule in my favour but there is no need to let it get that far and ruin what is left of your name because I will ruin it" He threatened, his eyes steady upon my face like he wanted me to know he wasn't joking about anything he was saying.

"I will not be firing you, even though I know that is what should be done in this case. Cut the dead weight which is you once and for all" He told me while I wondered whether he wanted me to sink to my knees in gratitude.

"Why?" I muttered. "Is it something I did? I am sure we can work whatever it is out if you will just talk to me"

He paused, blinking before he began laughing hard... the surprise in his eyes mocking my words

"Fuck... this has to be a joke, right? This is not up for discussion, Julie. Where the hell do you think you are, in a fucking movie? I will never be caught dead with a girl like you, Julie. I thought you would have figured that out already but it seems I have to spell it out for you...I have a reputation to protect and a company to build and you will never fit into it the way you are" He barked.

"I have no plans to ruin your reputation, I just want you... us"

"Save it" He interrupted, his eyes hard with disgust at my stupid pleas.

"I will let you keep the house" He waved his arms around my small apartment and one he had rented for me. One he always visited so we could make love and tell each other things about our day later even though we work in the same office.

"But after the rent is expired then you can either move out or begin paying for it, I do not care" He shrugged.

"I cannot believe this" I scoffed, trying desperately to stop the tears. "You promised me a lifetime of love... how can you do this?"

"You should know better than to listen to the promises of a man in the throes of passion, Julie." He smirked like I was some pest he wanted to be rid of.

"I am only letting you stay at the office because I will like us to continue working together professionally. You are a good assistant and nothing should come between that. We can also have sex anytime you want to, I am not cancelling that out totally" He cast me a sly grin. "But you should know that it will lead nowhere"

He brushed past me, heading towards the door.

"Adam...Can we at least talk about this?" my hand snaked up to catch his arm.

I recoiled when he spurned around, taking a step back against the rage in his eyes.

"Can you stop being a fucking child? Grow the fuck up and stop being such a clingy fucking bitch." He snapped, pushing me away again and brushing his arm

"I will not let you do this to me" I blurted.

He pinned me with one hateful glare and then smiled

"I would like to see you try and stop me, Julie... you are nothing and the sooner you know that, the better"

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I went to the New York City Clerk's office to handle a simple administrative matter, but the woman behind the glass handed me a nightmare instead. It was a certified marriage license from Clark County, Nevada, filed exactly three months ago. My vision blurred as I read the name in the spouse field: Baxter Noel. I was legally married to the ruthless billionaire whose legal team was currently suing me for intellectual property theft and trying to destroy my career. I remembered the conference in Las Vegas and a drink that tasted far too sweet, followed by a twelve-hour black hole in my memory that I had chalked up to exhaustion. When I sought help at my family's estate, my stepmother and sister didn't offer comfort; they stole my passport, shredded my clothes, and framed me for academic plagiarism to strip away my university fellowship. Even Baxter himself looked me in the eye with cold indifference, claiming he didn't know me and promising to have me arrested for fraud if I ever showed him that document again. Within twenty-four hours, I was homeless, jobless, and being hunted by the most powerful man in the city. I couldn't understand why a man who "eats people for breakfast" would be caught in the same trap as a struggling scientist like me. The confusion turned to pure terror when I looked at the witness signature on the license: Gene Mcclain. My mother, who was supposed to have died in a car crash ten years ago, had signed that paper with a fresh, trembling hand only ninety days ago. "I am holding a grenade, and I have no idea when the pin was pulled." Standing in the biting November wind with nothing but a laptop and a marriage license, I realized I was just a pawn in a much deadlier game. I stopped running and began to fight back, determined to use my unwanted status as the billionaire's wife to uncover the truth about the mother who came back from the dead.

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.
