"Your blood type matches Evelyn's. The kidney transplant is tomorrow," Lucas's voice echoed in the dim room.

Just moments before, he had groaned, with the bed shaking violently, , spilling himself inside the woman. She lay naked, blonde hair cascading over her pale face, like a broken doll. Without a second glance, he stood up, detaching himself from her without hesitation. Why was he so cruel and ruthless after being intimate with her? Struggling to sit up, she instinctively shielded her belly. "Lucas, no! Our baby..."

He laughed coldly. "How do I know the baby's mine?"

The woman was devastated. "Lucas, only you have touched me!"

He spun around, his hand like a vice on my throat, dragging me from the bed and slamming me to the floor. "Just a plaything, daring to talk back? Who gave you the guts? Huh?"

She lay on the floor, a sharp pain in her belly, blood trickling down her thighs. "It hurts, please, Lucuas..."

He didn't spare another glance, leaving the room with a slam. "No one let her out before tomorrow."

"Yes, sir," the guard replied.

She curled up on the floor, blood pooling around her. So much pain and blood. "Help me, God, please..." But without Lucas's command, no one dared open the door.

By the next morning, when the first light crept into the room, the woman was dead, and so was her baby in her belly

Amelia's POV:

My eyes flew open, a torrent of memories crashing over me like a tidal wave. The sharp pain in my lower abdomen was a cruel reminder of the life I'd lost-both the child I'd never meet and the future that had been ripped away from me. As my vision cleared, the harsh reality set in: I had been reborn.

In this new life, Lucas-my boy friend-was my would-be murderer. And I? I was nothing more than a pawn in his twisted game of love, an unwitting substitute for his true desire, Evelyn. He had tricked me, using my body, my heart, and even my kidney for his own selfish purposes.

Today marked exactly two years since I had become Lucas' stand-in for his true love. Until now, he hadn't even touched me-saving himself for Evelyn.

But somehow, that piece of news made its way to Lucas' rich, spoiled friends. They knew he didn't give a damn about me, so a couple of them decided to make a move. They spiked my drink with a powerful aphrodisiac.

Was I safe now? Far from it.

I climbed out, dragging my heavy body, trying to get to the neighboring balcony. I had called out, but no one responded. It seemed empty. I climbed over the railing, closing my eyes as I jumped.

I almost hit the ground but crashed into a warm body.

"Ah!" I cried, falling with the man I'd hit.

He was surprisingly delicate. In the moonlight, I saw his sharp features and cold aura. I knew that face. He was Theodore, Lucas's uncle!

Then I heard a door kick open and an angry voice: "Amelia!"
