Silverwood had always been a town with secrets. Nestled deep in the mountains, surrounded by dense forests, it was isolated from the rest of the world, its people living in fear of what lurked beyond the trees. The forest itself was a dark and twisted place, where sunlight rarely penetrated the canopy, and eerie sounds echoed through the night. For generations, villagers whispered of creatures prowling the woods, their voices hushed whenever a stranger passed by. It was into this atmosphere of fear that Elara Moore, a young woman with no family and a reputation for being a bit odd, found herself. She had come to Silverwood in search of her roots, having uncovered an old family heirloom-a silver locket-along with documents suggesting that her ancestors once lived in the area. The locket, strangely warm to the touch, was engraved with an intricate wolf emblem, and it had been passed down through her family for generations. Little did she know, it held the key to her family's dark past.

Chapter 1 THE DARK WOODS

Elara rented a small cabin on the outskirts of town, just on the edge of the forest. The villagers were suspicious of outsiders, but they offered her cold hospitality, warning her not to wander into the woods at night. "There are things out there," they told her. "Things you don't want to see." But Elara, stubborn and determined, ignored their superstitions. She had never believed in ghosts or monsters, and the allure of uncovering her family's history was stronger than the fear in the villagers' eyes. On her second night in Silverwood, under the light of a full moon, Elara ventured into the forest, drawn by an inexplicable pull. As she wandered deeper, the air grew colder, and the trees seemed to close in around her. Then she heard it-a low, guttural growl, followed by the sound of snapping twigs. Before she could react, something large and fast lunged from the shadows, knocking her to the ground. Pain seared through her as sharp teeth tore into her arm, and she screamed. But just as quickly as it had attacked, the creature vanished, melting back into the darkness. Elara, bleeding and terrified, stumbled back to her cabin. The last thing she saw before blacking out was the silver locket glowing faintly against her chest.
