Wild woods, Eastern Winterville.
*
Deep in the untamed woods on the night of a full moon, howling sounds could be heard in the distance, as could the constant rustling of leaves, but the most appealing sound in these forests was a feminine voice making audible screams for aid as its owner rushed through the woods.
She was panting heavily and her face was completely covered in sweat. She removed her blue jacket, leaving only her pink vest and blue jeans.
Her left leg collided with a log of wood, causing her to misstep and fall to the floor. She was exhausted; she wept silently as she staggered to her feet and continued the sprint.
Though the phenomenal wild creatures after her were getting closer, she knew deep down that she had to find somewhere to hide.
She was sorry that she had ever ventured into the woods with Taylor and Kamilia, her companions.
She was unsure if they were safe or had been captured by the hideous-looking animals that had assaulted them.
When she heard thuds, big thuds, she knew they were close. She managed to rise up and try to continue the sprint, but a large figure dropped in front of her, causing her to stumble backward. She screamed as the creature approached; it had a big head and fangs, and its eyes were burning yellow. How could a wild animal stand on its feet?
She kept moving backwards, between cries. The Creature opened its jaws and let out a loud roar, as if it were calling someone.
A faint cracking sound was heard behind the beast, and it collapsed lifeless. As the beast collapsed, a humanoid person remained standing. He'd just killed the beast with a single strike.
She didn't know who the man was, but she knew he was another dangerous creature; strange things were happening in just one night.
"Who...who are you?" She stammered. The man went towards her, and his simple steps sent shivers down her spine.
"Let me help you" The man's voice resembled that of a teenager.
"Please don't hurt me!"
"Please don't.....please don't.....!" She couldn't finish her statement before everything went black and she fell unconscious, closing her eyes. *Black out*

"Lucia! Wake up, you're going to be late to school!" Her mother's voice echoed in her head. The sun's rays penetrated through her windows, entering her chamber and reflecting on her face.
Her eyes slowly opened, and her foggy vision cleared after a few seconds. She sat up on her bed, still wearing her pink vest and jeans, and felt a minor headache.
She attempted to recollect everything that had happened, but nothing came to mind; it was as if her memories of the previous night had been erased. She didn't even notice her mother waiting near the door.
"Good morning Mom!" She greeted, rising from her bed.
"Did you have a nightmare again sweetie?"
"No...mom," she mumbled.
"Are you okay?" Her mother asked again.
"Yes, mom, I'm all good!"
"Okay then! "Get ready, your father is waiting; he will be dropping you off at school today," her mother said before leaving the room.
Lucia breathed a sigh of relief, as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders; yet, she pondered why.

Mr Jacob Keystone, Lucia Keystone's father, was dressed in a black Italian suit and holding a briefcase as he stood beside his black Range Rover, waiting for his daughter to emerge so they could get moving. He removed the automobile keys from his pockets and opened the driver's door. Lucia ran out of the house, dressed in a brown leather jacket and a blue shirt, along with a black tight skirt and sneakers. Her backpack was hanging on her back.
"All set, Dad" Lucia excitedly said as she rushed inside the car.
The car's engine hummed to life, and they drove away, heading towards Lucia's school.
Mr Jacob's automobile arrived at the designated car packing area, and Lucia stepped out.
"Oh, Lucia, I forgot to ask, how was last week's literature test?" Mr Jacob inquired.
"Well, it went smoothly Dad, and guess what, you turned out to be a great teacher!" She commented.
"Thanks honey, now you stay safe out there okay?"
"Right, bye Dad!" She waved goodbye as she walked away.
Mr Jacob sighed as he drove away after seeing her navigate the partitioned road going to the main gate.
"Hey, where are you guys?" She asked.
"Hey nuthead, we are at the locker facility"
"You better get here fast" Taylor and Kamilia's voices came at the other end of the phone. Lucia hung up amidst laughter, they were two important people in her life, they had been friends since the first day at school.
Lucia waved at few students studying near the walls as she walked to her class. She had almost forgotten it was a Tuesday morning, as students and professors moved around, some studying, others running to class, while sports competitors clothed in field jerseys marched in a straight line towards the sports field.
She walked to a canteen outside the school library to see if she could find Kamilia and Taylor, but they were not there. She pulled her phone from her backpack and phoned Kamilia's number; however, the call did not go through. She was beginning to worry, so she strolled into the school library and dialed Taylor's phone, which connected.
Lucia came into the locker room and saw her two mischievous and daring companions.
"What's up big girl, you got lost?" Kamilia asked her.
"Crabhead" Lucia said, causing everyone to laugh.
"Don't you think we should be headed to class, I mean it's almost past eight" according to Taylor.
"Excuse me" A boy's voice came from behind them, and they all turned to see a boy, perhaps sixteen years old, clothed in a white sleeveless blouse, brown shoes, and brown trousers. His hair was perfectly groomed, and he appeared to be confident.
"How you doing pretty boy?" Kamilia mocked, and they all burst out laughing.
The boy felt intimidated.
"I'm sorry, we didn't mean to," Lucia apologized partially.
"Okay.....I wanted to....." He hadn't finished speaking before Taylor tapped them both.
"We should get going"
"Sorry, we have a class to attend; next time," she pleaded, referring to the youngster.
'Aren't these three peculiar,' the boy wondered.
"They wouldn't even listen to whatever I was going to say," the child sighed before walking away.
Kyle crept cautiously towards the chemistry department building, trailing a group of youngsters, Hitler and his band of bullies. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and blue baggy trousers, and he was positive that this was the pack of werewolves he'd been onto.
They turned left and approached a corner in the second block of the chemistry department as he followed them step by step, block by block, smiling and talking as they went.
"What are they doing?" It occurred to Kyle.
When he poked his head around to see where the boys had disappeared, one of the boys had turned to face Kyle, who had quickly retreated behind a wall. Nothing to indicate their presence. He needed to leave immediately, he didn't want to fight with them, not just now!
In the blink of an eye, he vanished after taking two steps back. With the help of his vampire speed, he had vanished quickly.

There was an eerie silence that pervaded the scene; nobody could speak, and everyone was overwhelmed with sorrow and terror. Teachers and students both observed as the police removed the bodies of two school security officers. About thirty minutes prior, other students had discovered the dead and called for help. When they were discovered, they had been brutally murdered outside the school's clinic. They had bite marks all over their bodies, and their arms and legs had been severed. Everyone assumed an animal had done this. In the last two weeks, they had experienced this kind of 'animal' attack four times.
Devastated by what had happened, Kyle approached the scene and looked around for his older brother, Alan.
He sighted him standing close to some students, dressed in a black suit like a 90s citizen, and watching the action, of course Alan wasn't always the one to miss out on catching a glimpse in situations like this. He walked quickly towards him and dragged him out of the mob.
"What's up with you?" Alan inquired, a little offended.
"I think I found out who's behind these recent killings" according to Kyle.
"And who do you think that might be?" Alan asked.
"Hitler and his pack, they're growing stronger and enlarging in numbers everyday, we need to stop them?"
"Don't go there, kid, the plan was to lay low and stay put; we only arrived here months ago, and you expect us to start causing problems again?" Alan stated, increasing his voice somewhat.
"Come on brother, innocent people are dying, we have to help them?" Kyle argued.
"What happens after that?" Aren't we attracting Hitler's wrath and drawing attention to ourselves? Huh?"
"And the weredragons, you want them to find us again?" Alan backed up his statement, trying to make a point.
"Come on, these people are beneath us; they have no chance against us hybrids, and we are practically superior." Kyle protested.
"Come on, we're on the run for our lives, for ten thousand years, we've barely settled down to live a life, and now that we've gotten that here, you want us to interfere in a matter that isn't our concern?"
"How could you be so cruel brother?" He paused for a moment.
"Listen, I'm doing this, with or without your help!" Kyle finished before walking away angrily.
"Ugh" "So arrogant" Alan spurted out, he detested Kyle's stubbornness, which almost killed them in their past lifetimes.
