His job was to rob him. To steal from him and run as far as his resources could take him. He didn't plan to be caught. And even if that was a probability, he never expected to be spared. He never expected Salvatore to spare him and keep him around as a boy toy. David didn't expect his straight ass to fall for a man. Especially not one as rough, dangerous, and deadly as Salvatore. Are the feelings reciprocated? Or is David just a toy to Salvatore? This is the question that plagues David as he falls deeper and deeper for this dangerous Italian hot cake. Realizing he could and would do anything for the dangerous man he had grown to love. When their dangerous world closes in, David must decide. Will he run, or will he risk everything for the man who could break his heart?
Two, four, eighty-six, nine.
I kept muttering to myself as I made my way through the shadows, to the safe room. I don't know how Dimitri's men were able to get a blueprint of Salvatore's house. But they did, and now, here I am.
When Dimitri gives an order, you don't ask questions. You follow it, no matter the risk. So, I didn't ask questions. I just obeyed. Taking the risk.
However, this time, the risk was higher than ever. I wasn't just on another mission. I was playing a game of peekaboo with death.
I was in Salvatore's house, planning to rob him! One would think I'm mad for doing such, but it would be insanity to disobey Dimitri.
For three years, I have belonged to him. I borrowed money from his men to treat my sick sister, and I couldn't pay them back. Dimitri would have killed me, but he kept me alive with a preposition. My loyal service to him, in exchange for my life. That monster knows everything about everyone and he knew everything about me. He knew I could hack into and steal anything and that made me useful to him. So, he kept me.
I am to work for him till I pay off my debt, and with every passing day, that feels like an impossible quest. I have other jobs I do on the side to foot my sister's hospital bills, but currently, Dimitri's orders come first. If he kills me, my sister has no one to look after her, and she'll in turn die. I won't be able to forgive myself if that ever happened.
She has stage four cancer and is battling for her life like the little champ that she is. Tomorrow is her birthday, and I can only hope that I survive this night to celebrate it with her tomorrow. I have to try my best not to get caught, and to be successful with this mission. If I fail, it's all over. Dimitri is dangerous, and Salvatore is just as deadly.
Quite frankly, I don't know who's worse. All I know is that I've gotten myself deep in the Mafia business and I don't see a way out. So, to survive, because I have to survive, I need to stay in the good books of whoever has more power. Power that can affect me and, my sister.
I stop in my tracks when I see two guards in front of the safe room. I would have preferred to go through a window, but Salvatore was smart enough to have just one exit to the room. The door. It's the only way in, and the only way out. Whatever is in that room has to be very important. And here I am trying to steal it without having the slightest clue what it is. It better be worth it.
I blow a bubble with my gum and pop it, making sure to make enough noise from my hiding place, and I hear one of the guards order the second one.
"Go check it out. "
I remain silent as the man approaches the shadows where I'm hiding. When he's close enough, I hit him on the back of his neck, and he falls face-first to the ground. Passing out as his face crashes into the hard, cold ground.
"Ian. Are you okay? "The second guard questions and I finally step into view.
"He's okay. He'll just be asleep for a few minutes. "I say, and I watch the guard take up a defensive position.
"I think you should join him. You look tired. "I add, and I see his hand begin to move.
He reaches for his HT, but I'm faster. With one calculated swing, my rope dart knocks the device out of his hand, and when he glares up at me, I smile back. His other hand goes for his gun, but I'm already in motion. Before he can pull out his gun or cause me any other trouble, I land a kick on his face, and I hear something crunch under my boot. His nose is never going to be the same after this.
"Sorry, buddy, but I've got to survive. "I whisper to him before hitting his neck, and he collapses to the ground.
I crack my knuckles and kneel in front of the keypad beside the door. I punch in the code I had been muttering all day, and the door slides open with a hiss. When I stand up to look into the room, I raise a brow. It's... a bedroom.
I frown.
A bedroom!? Where the fuck is the safe? Am I to start looking for that now? No one told me Salvatore had a bedroom here. What the hell am I supposed to do now?
I pull out my phone to call Flynn who got me the blueprint, he's the one who told me that the safe was in this room. If anyone should understand what the hell is going on, it would be him.
I dial his number and just as I hear the first ring, someone speaks behind me.
"Hello, pretty boy. "
Before I can react, a sharp jolt of electricity flows through my body. My muscles seize, and I collapse to the ground. The last thing I hear is Flynn's voice before everything goes black.

I wake up with a start, gasping for breath. Something cold was splashed against my face. Waking me up. I don't know how long I was out, but I blink as my eyes adjust to the bright light coming in from a window. I don't even pay attention to the man who poured water on me and is now walking out of the room. My mind is on one thing.
It's daytime. I don't know what time it is, but the sun is fucking up!
I try to move but realize that my hands are bound above me, and my legs are bound apart on the ground. I look up and gulp at the sight of my bound hands. I got caught. I'm doomed. I'm so doomed! He's going to kill me.
I got caught.
I can't believe I got caught!
"You're finally awake. "
The voice pulls me back to earth, and I freeze when I see the man who just walked into.
He is wearing a blue shirt and black pants, has long black hair that is neatly gelled back, and blue eyes are so intense it seems like he can see into my soul. He has a gnarly scar across his left cheek, and his presence fills the room. The atmosphere already changed by his arrival. I don't need an introduction. I already know this man is.
He is Salvatore Morano. The one and only.
"I was wondering when you'll wake up. "He speaks again, and I stare at him as his baritone voice for some reason sends shivers through me.
"I'll make things quick. "He says, and my heart starts pounding.
"Who sent you? How did you get past my security? And what did you plan to do with what is in my safe? "He questions, and I just stare at the massive man in front of me. I don't have answers. Not the right ones. But if I give him anything, he'll kill me faster.
"Look, boy. You've been out for three days. If you waste my time any further, I'll take you out permanently. "He speaks again, and my jaw drops.
"Three days?? "I question aloud in shock, and he leans back in the chair he sat on behind a massive desk.
"Roughly. After knocking you out, My boys beat you into a mild coma. They kept you unconscious till I was ready to see you. "He explains, and I freeze.
I've been out for three days!?! I missed Vanessa's birthday.
"Why do you look so pale? Have somewhere to be? "He questions further, and I gulp.
Vanessa must be so worried. How the fuck do I get out of here? I need to see her.
