It centers on the relationship between the heir of the pack and the mafia, and his mate, a poor human woman, who is not accepted by the Alpha leader. The wolf father only wants his son to fall in love with one of their own or, at least, with an important human like a queen or someone from a wealthy family. Mariana and Alberto must find a way for the Alpha father to accept their relationship and seek a cure for the bite from a jaguar man, as well as transform her into a she-wolf. They also need to take down enemy cartels, and the business, and escape the police. When they first met, he didn't accept that his mate was a human, and she couldn't believe werewolves existed. But love forced them to accept each other, and they considered transforming her to please his father, although he didn't want to turn her into a wolf until they were married. She gets infected by a jaguar man, and they must seek a priestess with the power to heal such curses so they can be together. Mariana is kidnapped by the jaguar men, who kill Alberto in the attack, but fortunately, an old wolf knows a ritual to revive him. Upon returning to life, he is reborn with more powers. While in captivity, Mariana discovers that Alberto's mother and brother, whom he believed dead, are actually prisoners of the shamans. She manages to escape with the help of a prince of the jaguar men, who falls in love with her. An enemy kills the Alpha father, leaving Alberto in charge, but business and the pursuit of avenging his father consume him completely. He neglects his relationship with Mariana, who meets an enemy wolf that forces an encounter with her, as he has a mission to win her over. The situation becomes complicated when he falls in love with her, and she is kidnapped again by the evil shaman to force Alberto to hand over all his wealth and business. Fortunately, Mariana frees herself, wandering through the jungle until she is found by the protagonist's men. Mariana becomes pregnant with six babies, but the birth is very complicated, leaving her in a coma. She wakes up six weeks later to discover that the police have surrounded her husband and captured him. Her children have been taken to a lab to study their strange wolf-like characteristics. She finds a way to free her children while Alberto escapes, but he dies while fleeing, leaving Mariana alone and desperate with her children. She has to hide because she is pursued even by her husband's former subordinates, who want to take over his business. Alberto miraculously survives and reappears. During this time, he was captured by an obsessive former girlfriend. He frees himself, swears his love to Mariana, and eliminates the ex. He then dedicates himself to dismantling the organization, digs up all his fortune, and donates part of it to charity. Likewise, he rescues Luisa from being devoured by her enemies, wins her back, and they marry in a beautiful full moon wedding, where he finally transforms her into one of them. She becomes the Luna of the pack and gets pregnant again.

Chapter 1 1; IT CAN'T BE; MY MOON IS A HUMAN

ALBERTO AND MARIANA

"Alberto, understand that what we have can't be."

"Mariana, I understand it, but I don't accept it. I love you, and nothing else matters to me."

"That's very romantic, but you're far from reality. It's not just the fact that you're a werewolf; it's everything else."

"I swear I'll find a solution to all those problems. I don't know how, but I will. All I know is that I can't live without your beautiful green eyes, your golden hair, and that lovely scent of yours."

"That's another thing. I also love your elegant bearing, your honey-colored eyes that I get lost in, your hairstyle that never gets messed up, that black hair of yours, your goatee that traps me, and your burly figure that makes me feel protected. Add to that your manners and attention, it was impossible not to fall in love with you."

"Then why don't you accept me? Let's run away together to a private island, away from everything. In that place, it'll just be the two of us, where we can fully give ourselves to love."

"Alberto, you know your enemies wouldn't leave us in peace, even in the farthest corner of the planet."

"Then, my beloved Mariana, we'll go to another world, where we can be happy forever."

"No, my dear Alberto, I've made my decision. I don't want to keep going through everything I've been through. It's a miracle I'm still alive after so many misfortunes. I've come to the conclusion that it's very dangerous to be the wife of a mobster, and even worse, of a werewolf."

"I'm telling you again, I'll do whatever it takes, and that includes leaving the mafia, even if it means being expelled from the pack. You are my moon, the love of my life."

"Alberto, please, snap out of it. Your father is the Alpha. He will never let us be together. Remember how he opposed it when he found out I was human, and even worse, poor. Please, leave me alone."

"No, remember what I promised you the day we met. Please, remember."

"That was a long time ago. I remember that day; we were in a situation similar to this. I was being chased by a pack of jaguars, and when they had me cornered, you appeared like a gift from heaven, saving me like a superhero. The events of that day made me question everything I believed to be reality, not just because of your transformation but theirs too. Plus, it never crossed my mind that mafias were controlled by supernatural beings."

"That's because our abilities give us an advantage in facing the dangers of this risky profession. Speaking of dangers, we're surrounded. There are twenty-two of them-I can smell them. I'll have to fight while you escape."

"None of that, sir. I'm no longer that frightened girl. I've learned to fight and face my fears. Likewise, I'll fight by your side. Furthermore, I will never again be the damsel in distress who needs her prince to save her. I did think hiding in this abandoned building wasn't a good idea."

"Then why, dear Mariana, did you agree to hide with me?"

"Because I needed to talk to you. I also wanted to clear my head and rest a bit. We've been running all night."

"As for you escaping, it's not because I doubt your ability to defend yourself. It's because I fear losing control and hurting you."

"Alberto, I can't run away knowing they might hurt or kill you."

"Don't worry. I've had tougher fights. Since I came to this country, fleeing European hunters, I've had to face many enemies. Especially when my father agreed to be the driver for that drug lord, and then took over when his enemies eliminated him. He became the head of the organization and gathered several werewolves without a pack, who chose him as the Alpha. Because of that, I was always a target for bullies who wanted to hurt my father by attacking me."

Just then, some men wearing wool ponchos entered the room where they were hiding behind a wall, and one of them shouted: "Freeze! Surrender, and I promise we'll spare your lives. Don't hide; we can smell your fear."

"We're not afraid of you. We just wanted to lure you here. You should be the ones afraid. You can still run before you regret it." Alberto stepped out of the hiding spot, puffing out his chest and looking at them with disdain and arrogance.

"Don't think you're invincible, mutt. There are only two of you, but there are many of us. You don't stand a chance," one of their pursuers replied, showing a hand that transformed into a yellow claw. Behind him, more men appeared.

"You may outnumber us, but we are more powerful." Alberto's body swelled as his size increased, gray fur sprouting all over his body, shredding his clothes. His jaw elongated, his ears became pointed, his teeth grew into fangs, his honey-colored eyes now seemed to spark, and his hands turned into powerful claws.

"Of course, wolf pup, we know you're strong, but not strong enough to fight all of us while protecting that human girl. We'll see how long you can last," the man said as he threw off his poncho and transformed into a jaguar, roaring and showing his powerful fangs.

"Enough talk; let's get to action. Remember, we have to take the girl alive. That's what the shaman ordered, and we don't have to hold back on the mutt. Let's hit him with all we've got." Another man transformed too, roaring, and was followed by the others who lunged at Alberto. He swatted them away with his claws like a baseball bat, though one managed to dodge and a bit down on his neck, latching on like a clothespin.

"Let go of his neck, you disgusting beast! Get out of here, you have overgrown cats!" Mariana shouted, delivering a flying kick to the jaguar biting Alberto's neck, forcing it to release him and crash to the floor, where Alberto finished it off with a stomp.

"Comrades, the shaman told us to take her alive, but that doesn't mean we have to take her unharmed." roared one of the jaguar men as he charged at Mariana, only to be blocked by Alberto, who, in defending her, let the guard down. His attackers then bit his legs and tail, causing him to lose his balance.

"Leave him alone!" Mariana exclaimed as she saw several of the small tigers piling on top of her beloved. In desperation, she shoved a few of them off, just enough for Alberto to get back up.

"Thank you, my love. We only have one option left: we have to run," Alberto growled, striking the nearest jaguars.

"No, my love, we have no options left. Only desperate measures." She pulled out a lighter from her pocket, climbed onto her werewolf's shoulders, and lit it under a fire sprinkler sensor, triggering the sprinklers and drenching the place in water, disorienting the jaguars.

"Hold on tight, my love," Alberto told Mariana as she clung to his back. He ran on all fours, dodging the other beasts, and leaped through an old window that led to the main street. The six-story fall didn't affect them due to the werewolf's sturdy body, and upon landing, he continued running.

"Love, please, wait. Stop for a moment, please, Alberto."

"Of course, love. I think we're safe now. What happened to you? Let me see that wound."

"Alberto, it's not just a wound-it's a bite. You know what that means."

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to fix it. You know, I always find a way."

"No, my beloved, this is the end. You know if this bite doesn't kill me, I'll transform into one of them, and that will be a powerful reason for your father to prevent us from being together. Now, our relationship has become even more impossible."

"Maybe there's a solution. I've heard of a priestess who has the power to cure curses and hybrids."

"Once again, you cling to hope, to rumors. You need to face reality. Stop chasing fantasies. Abandon your naïveté and, most importantly, abandon me. Forget me."

"I can't do that, Mariana, my heart, because I love you with all my being."

For four years, I traced the bullet scar on Chace’s chest, believing it was proof he would bleed to keep me safe. On our anniversary, he told me to wear white because "tonight changes everything." I walked into the gala thinking I was getting a ring. Instead, I stood frozen in the center of the ballroom, drowning in silk, watching him slide his mother's sapphire onto another woman's finger. Karyn Warren. The daughter of a rival family. When I begged him with my eyes to claim me, to save me from the public humiliation, he didn't flinch. He just leaned toward his Underboss, his voice amplified by the silence. "Karyn is for power. Ember is for pleasure. Don't confuse the assets." My heart didn't just break; it incinerated. He expected me to stay as his mistress, threatening to dig up my dead mother’s grave if I refused to play the obedient pet. He thought I was trapped. He thought I had nowhere to go because of my father’s massive gambling debts. He was wrong. With shaking hands, I pulled out my phone and texted the one name I was never supposed to use. Keith Mosley. The Don. The monster under Chace's bed. *I am invoking the Blood Oath. My father’s debt. I am ready to pay it.* His reply came three seconds later, buzzing against my palm like a warning. *The price is marriage. You belong to me. Yes or No?* I looked up at Chace, who was laughing with his new fiancée, thinking he owned me. I looked down and typed three letters. *Yes.*

I had been a wife for exactly six hours when I woke up to the sound of my husband’s heavy breathing. In the dim moonlight of our bridal suite, I watched Hardin, the man I had adored for years, intertwined with my sister Carissa on the chaise lounge. The betrayal didn't come with an apology. Hardin stood up, unashamed, and sneered at me. "You're awake? Get out, you frumpy mute." Carissa huddled under a throw, her fake tears already welling up as she played the victim. They didn't just want me gone; they wanted me erased to protect their reputations. When I refused to move, my world collapsed. My father didn't offer a shoulder to cry on; he threatened to have me committed to a mental asylum to save his business merger. "You're a disgrace," he bellowed, while the guards stood ready to drag me away. They had spent my life treating me like a stuttering, submissive pawn, and now they were done with me. I felt a blinding pain in my skull, a fracture that should have broken me. But instead of tears, something dormant and lethal flickered to life. The terrified girl who walked down the aisle earlier that day simply ceased to exist. In her place, a clinical system—the Valkyrie Protocol—booted up. My racing heart plummeted to a steady sixty beats per minute. I didn't scream. I stood up, my spine straightening for the first time in twenty years, and looked at Hardin with the detachment of a surgeon looking at a tumor. "Correction," I said, my voice stripped of its stutter. "You're in my light." By dawn, I had drained my father's accounts, vanished into a storm, and found a bleeding Crown Prince in a hidden safehouse. They thought they had broken a mute girl. They didn't realize they had just activated their own destruction.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. Mia Meyers was born to rule her father's empire (so she thought), until he named his bastard son heir instead. Stefan Sterling knows the sting of betrayal too. His father discarded him like trash. Now the rivals' disgraced children have a poisonous proposal: Marry for vengeance. Crush their fathers' legacies. Never speak of divorce. Whoever cracks first loses everything. Can these two rivals, united by their vengeful hearts, pull off a marriage of convenience to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs? Or will their fathers' animosity, and their own complicated pasts tear their fragile alliance apart?

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
