Mafia's Love Chapter 1 GETTING READY

LILY'S POV

I woke up to a loud sound....my mother's voice.

"Lily, Lily...come on wake up...you need to get ready. We are hosting important guests today."

"Who?" I asked with a sleepy voice. "Can I pass? I'm not in the mood to host anyone today." I said a little bit soar all over.

"No." My mum said firmly. "You can't pass, these guests are a big part of your life. And what we have to discuss concerns you a lot. " They are important people so you need to look your best ." She said and left my room.

It was already 6:30 am

so I set my alarm to 7:00 am and went back to bed.

After half an hour other than my usual routine I woke up.

I headed to the bathroom and settled for a warm bubble bath. After my splendid bath, I started my daily routine. I started by picking out my outfit for the day. It was a spaghetti straped yellow summer dress with a sunflower design.

Then I fixed my hair into a messy bun. After that I proceeded to my makeup, it was simple: powder, mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss.

After getting ready for the day I went downstairs to have breakfast. My parents were waiting for me when I got to the dining.

"Good morning Dad." I greeted my dad.

"Good morning my angel, how was your night?" My dad asked.

"It was great,", I responded.

"You look stunning." He added."Sit let's have breakfast." My mum added as she pulled out a chair beside her signalling me to sit"Sit let's have breakfast." My mum added as she pulled out a chair beside her signalling me to sit.

"Sit let's have breakfast." My mum added as she pulled out a chair beside her signalling me to sit.

"So who are the important guests we have to host?" I asked.

"I would love to know who they are," I said making my parents smile slightly.

This was getting creepy. My life was already so creepy due to the fact my parents were mafia bosses and in a few months, I will become the new leader, in other words, the new boss of the mafia group.

"The Miller family are our guests." My dad answered the question I'd long been asking.

"Who are they?" I asked expectantly. "Well, the Millers and the Addams' have been intimate friends for a quite long time now." My dad replied.

"The family you visit in France every two years?" I asked.

"Yes." My dad answered. I never travelled with my parents when they went to France so I don't know the Millers

"Why are they coming back all of a sudden?" I asked curiously.

"For business." He said briefly.

"They have a son, 'Zavier'. He's older than you two years." My mum said while butting into the conversation. "You both were childhood sweethearts." My mum said.

"You were five and he was seven when you first met. The both of you instantly clicked and became best friends. After five months they moved to France." My mum added.

"You were so sad about Zaviers departure that you locked yourself up in your room and refused to come out." My dad said.

"Zavier is now the CEO of Miller's Designs. He's the new boss of the Irish mob." My dad added.

After breakfast, my parents left for the airport to receive the Miller's while I stayed home and worked on some unfinished projects.

"We're here." mum texted.

"So quick?" I questioned

"Yes, have you forgotten the airport is a ten-minute drive from home?" My mum replied almost immediately.

"Don't forget to be nice, okay?" My mum said.

"Okay, mum," I replied.

I looked out the window and saw my parent's car and behind it was a Lamborghini and other black cars.

Some belonged to my parents, but there were some I couldn't recognise, so I immediately knew they belonged to the Millers. My parents came out of their car while a man and a woman came out from a Benz. On the other hand, a tall, handsome man came out from the Lamborghini. I hurried downstairs to receive our guests.

As the front door opened, the Miller's and my parents stepped in. Behind them was a very fine creation. He was the tall and handsome man who came out of the Lamborghini. He looked so manly He wore a black suit and a black turtle neck. He had pitch hair and blue eyes, which was so captivating.I was hypnotised by his beauty and couldn't speak. I didn't realise when I walked up to him.

"Lily, I see you've met Zavier."My dad said.

"Hello," I mumbled, feeling a little bit embarrassed.

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

He Thought I Was A Doormat, Until I Ruined Him

SHANA GRAY

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
