Prologue London's skyline shimmered with a deceptive calm, hiding the shadows of power struggles beneath its surface. In the alleys and backstreets, two powerful names loomed over the underworld: Ryan West also known as steel and Daryl Moretti. Both men were cut from the same ruthless cloth-leaders of rival gangs who had carved out their empires with blood, fear, and brutal efficiency. For years, they had played a dangerous game, dancing on the edge of all out war but never quite crossing the line. Until Sofia. Sofia Moretti, the stunning, untouchable sister of Daryl, became the catalyst for the chaos that neither gang could escape. Born into violence but always seeking something more, she knew the world of power her brother controlled. But when her path crossed with Ryan West, it was more than a chance encounter it was destiny twisted by betrayal. Ryan had always been calculated, a man who knew what it took to survive the streets. Love had never been part of his plan. But when Sofia entered his life, she shattered all his rules. Her beauty captivated him, but it was her strength, her spirit, that made him fall in love. She was the forbidden fruit in the garden of his enemies, and Ryan was willing to risk everything for her. He never saw the betrayal coming. As Ryan's love for Sofia deepened, so did the web of lies she spun. She played her role perfectly-loving, loyal, torn between her family and the man she claimed to love. But behind her eyes lay secrets far darker than Ryan could imagine. Sofia had her own agenda, one tied to her brother, one that would destroy everything Ryan had built. But the streets of London had a way of turning even the most careful plans to ash. Unbeknownst to both Ryan and Daryl, a third player lurked in the shadows. Detective Callum Price, a man on a mission, had been watching, waiting for the right moment to strike. He had infiltrated the very fabric of both gangs, gathering evidence, piecing together the empire's fragile foundation. And now, after years of waiting, Price was ready to bring it all down. But Price underestimated one thing the power of bloodlines. When the cracks in the fragile truce between Ryan and Daryl deepened, it wasn't hatred that brought them together it was survival. For the first time, they had a common enemy. The government, with Price at its helm, wanted to end them both. And in the end, blood proved thicker than bullets. Now, as the city teeters on the edge of war, alliances will be tested, love will turn to betrayal, and even the strongest men will fall. In a world where trust is a weakness, and survival is the only goal, Ryan and Daryl will have to decide: are they willing to destroy each other, or will they unite against the greater enemy that threatens to annihilate them both? In the end, nothing is sacred not love, not loyalty, not blood.
The cold wind of London's night bit through Ryan Carter's leather jacket as he stepped out of the black SUV. The familiar sights of the city lights reflected off the Thames, shimmering under the street lamps. Ryan lit a cigarette, inhaling deeply, feeling the rush of nicotine calm his nerves.
Tonight was important. It was the night that would solidify his control over the streets of East London, Especially Eden street. The thought of taking over Eden street alone, made smile.
He wasn't the boy he used to be the scared kid hustling to make a living, fighting for scraps. No, Ryan had come a long way from those days. Now, he run things. He's the boss, the one people fear, the man who makes the decisions that could end lives with a nod. Ryan's gang had grown over the years, taking over territory after territory, crushing anyone who stood in their way.
But there's one man who still posed a problem. Daryl Miller.
Daryl is a brutal leader, as ruthless as Ryan but without the finesse. His gang, the Millers, a gang that controlled most of South London. Their rivalry went back years, too many deaths, too much blood spilled for peace to ever be an option. Ryan's father was murdered in one of those bloody wars with Daryl's crew, and since then, the bad blood had only grown worse.
As he flicked the cigarette butt onto the pavement, his mind wandered to tonight's event. A charity gala, wealthy people playing dress up, pretending to help the city's poor. Ryan isn't here for them. He's here for Sofia Miller, Daryl's younger sister.
Ryan's phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and glanced at the screen. A message from Tommy, his right-hand man.
TOMMY➡️ We're in position. Everything good on your end?"
RYAN ➡️ All good. Keep an eye out.
TOMMY➡️ Let's do this.
He wasn't taking any chances. Daryl wasn't stupid. He knew Ryan was coming for him, coming for his empire. And if Ryan was going to get close to Daryl, it would be through Sofia.
*GALA PARTY*
The gala was in full swing when Ryan walked in, his dark suit matching with the crowd of wealthy donors, politicians, and businessmen. The room was a swirl of expensive attires, sparkling chandeliers, and the faint clinking of glasses as champagne flowed freely. Ryan's eyes scanned the room, looking for one person in particular.
Then he saw her.
Sofia Miller stood near the bar, laughing softly at something a well-dressed man beside her was saying. She was stunning. Long dark hair, soft features, and a figure that made it impossible not to stare. But Ryan wasn't here to admire her beauty. He was here to make a move.
Ryan approached slowly, weaving through the crowd with ease. He saw the way men looked at her hungrily, but none of them would dare approach her.
They knew who she was, and they knew her brother. She was off limits to everyone. Everyone but Ryan.
As he got closer, Sofia noticed him. Her eyes locked onto his, and for a brief moment, Ryan saw something flicker there. Curiosity, maybe even recognition. But she didn't look afraid. That was good. He didn't want her afraid.
He's say beside her, then took a tumbler filled with champagne
RYAN➡️ Enjoying yourself? Ryan asked as he reached her, his voice low, casual.
Sofia turned to him fully,
SOFIA➡️ As much as one can at these things. And you are?"
RYAN ➡️ "Ryan Carter"
He didn't need to add anything else. The name said enough.
SOFIA➡️I've heard of you, she said, her voice smooth and controlled. "You're not exactly someone I'd expect to see at a charity event."
Ryan shrugged, picking another glass of champagne from a passing waiter.
RYAN➡️You think because I'm a gangster, I'm not a good person, gangster aren't as bad as you think.
SOFIA➡️Indeed you aren't that bad.
Sofia chuckled softly, a sound that Ryan couldn't help but like. There was something about her that was different from the other women he'd been with. She wasn't trying to impress him. She wasn't afraid of him. And that made her dangerous.
SOFIA ➡️So, Ryan Carter, she said, why are you really here? I doubt it's for the free drinks.
Ryan leaned in slightly, his blue eyes locking onto hers.
RYAN➡️Maybe I'm here for you.
SOFIA ➡️ You're kidding right? you can't be here for your enemy's sister. except you wanna kill me. Which you can't execute publicly.
RYAN➡️NAAAH, let's dance...
SOFIA ➡️ Seriously??
The night progressed slowly, the tension between Ryan and Sofia thickening with every passing minute. They danced around each other, exchanging flirtatious comments.
Sofia was smart, Ryan could see that. She wasn't going to be easily manipulated. But he wasn't worried. He'd play the long game if he had to.
As they stood on the balcony later that evening, Ryan took the opportunity to probe deeper.
RYAN➡️You know who I am, his voice low. So you know why I'm here."
Sofia didn't answer immediately. She took a sip of her drink,
SOFIA➡️You're here because of my brother.
Ryan squinted. There was no point in lying.
RYAN➡️Daryl and I have unfinished business.
Sofia quickly turned to face him, her expression unreadable.
SOFIA➡️And you think using me will help you with that?
Ryan smiled, but there was no warmth in it.
RYAN➡️I think you're smarter than your dumb brother, I'll give you that. You've been playing a role, but I see the real you.You want to run away from him.
For a moment, something flickered in her eyes surprise, But it was gone just as quickly, replaced by the faceless expression she always wore.
SOFIA ➡️Look it's not that, You don't know anything about me or my brother, Ryan. If you did, you'll be trying to help us and not trying to kill each other.
RYAN➡️ Maybe not, Ryan admitted, stepping closer to her. But I know enough.
Sofia's gaze met his, and for the first time, Ryan saw something crack in her facade. A flash of vulnerability, of uncertainty. But she quickly recovered, turning away and walking back inside..
Ryan watched her go, a satisfied smile plastered on his face. He was getting to her. Slowly, but surely, she would come around. And when she did, Daryl Miller would fall.
Later that night, Ryan sat in the back seat of his Bentley, Tommy driving through the quiet streets of London. The gala had been a success in more ways than one. Sofia was exactly what Ryan needed smart, beautiful, and perfectly placed to bring her brother down.
Tommy glanced at him through the rearview mirror.
TOMMY ➡️You think she'll figure it out?"
Ryan nodded, his mind already working through the next steps.
RYAN➡️She will. It's just a matter of time."
Tommy grunted, his skepticism clear.
TOMMY➡️Girls like that don't play nice, boss. She might be playing you.
Ryan smirked. "Let her try."
There was a pause before Tommy spoke again.
TOMMY ➡️What about Daryl? You know he's not going to take this lightly.
Ryan's expression darkened. Daryl was a problem, no doubt about it. He was vicious, unpredictable, and he had an army of loyal men ready to die for him. But Ryan wasn't afraid. He'd faced worse before, and he always came out on top.
RYAN➡️He'll come for me,Ryan said, his voice cold and calm. But when he does, I'll put an end to his miserable life.
Tommy didn't respond, and the rest of the drive was silent. Ryan stared out the window, his thoughts drifting back to Sofia. She was the key to everything. If he could get her on his side, Daryl wouldn't stand a chance.
But there was something about her that made Ryan uneasy, she was calm and fearless at first, she didn't care if I'm gangster, but got scared when we started talking about her brother, and what did she mean by "I'll be trying to help", Damn, she's crazy.
Ryan knew better than to underestimate her. She wasn't just a pawn in this game she was playing her own hand, and Ryan would have to be careful not to get played himself.
But in the end, it didn't matter. Ryan always got what he wanted. And right now, he wanted Sofia.
The next morning, Ryan stood in his penthouse apartment, staring out over the city. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a pale glow over the buildings below. Ryan sipped his coffee, his mind already working through the next steps.
He would need to make his move soon. Daryl wasn't the type to sit back and wait for an attack. He'd already be planning his own retaliation, and Ryan needed to stay ahead of him. But first, he had to secure Sofia's loyalty.
Ryan's phone rang on the table beside him, and he picked it up, glancing at the screen. It was a message from Tommy.
TOMMY📱Got word from our guy inside. Daryl's making moves. Meeting with some new players next week. Could be planning something big.
Ryan frowned. Daryl was always looking for new allies, new ways to expand his power. But Ryan wouldn't let him get the upper hand.
He typed a quick reply, "Keep an eye on it. Let me know if anything changes."
As he put the phone down, his thoughts returned to Sofia. He'd have to see her again soon. Push her a little harder, test her loyalty. She was smart, but Ryan was confident he could break through her defenses.
After all, everyone had a weakness. Even Sofia Miller.
Later that afternoon, Ryan found himself back in the heart of the city, walking through the crowded streets toward one of his favorite spots an old café tucked away in scanvenge street, it's time to also make moves his allies.
Daryl have to die soon...
