Abigail had always known struggle. Growing up in a small, rundown house with her single mother, she had learned to make do with very little. But despite their poverty, Abigail had always been a bright and hopeful young woman, dreaming of a better life for herself. One fateful night, however, her world came crashing down around her. Walking home from her job at the local diner, she was accosted by a group of men. They dragged her into an alleyway and took turns violating her, leaving her broken and shattered on the cold, hard ground. But the worst was yet to come. One of the men who had attacked her turned out to be none other than Alexander, one of the richest and most powerful men in the country. And when his parents began pressuring him to find a suitable bride, he saw an opportunity in Abigail. He approached her with a proposal - a contract for her to be his wife for a month, just to impress his parents and get them off his back. In return, he promised to provide her with financial security and a comfortable life. Desperate and with nowhere else to turn, Abigail reluctantly agreed. As they began their charade of a marriage, Abigail found herself drawn to Alexander in ways she never expected. Despite his cold and aloof exterior, she saw glimpses of kindness and vulnerability beneath the surface. And as they spent more time together, she began to wonder if there was more to their arrangement than just a business transaction. But Alexander was a man with secrets of his own, and as their month together drew to a close, Abigail found herself torn between her growing feelings for him and the knowledge that their marriage was built on lies and deception. Will Alexander eventually fall for Abigail, or will their differences and the shadows of their pasts tear them apart? Only time will tell in this tale of love, betrayal, and redemption..
.
Abigail's eyes fluttered open, her mind foggy and her body aching. She was lying in a luxurious bed, surrounded by opulent furnishings and expensive artwork. But she had no idea how she got there.
Panic set in as she scrambled to remember the events of the previous night. She recalled leaving her part-time job at the restaurant, walking home alone in the dark... and then nothing.
A knock at the door made her jump. "Abigail, are you awake?" a deep voice called out.
Abigail's heart raced as the door opened and Alexander entered, looking every bit the billionaire he was. "Good morning," he said, his eyes gleaming with a calculating intensity. "I see you're feeling better. We need to talk."
Abigail's mind raced as she scrambled to piece together the fragments of her memory. What had happened? And why was she in this stranger's bed?
Alexander's smile was cold and calculating. "You're looking well, Abigail. Considering the circumstances."
Abigail's eyes narrowed, her mind racing. Circumstances? What did he mean?
And then, like a floodgate opening, memories came rushing back. The walk home, the darkness, the pain...
Her eyes widened in horror as she realized what had happened. She had been raped.
Alexander's eyes gleamed with a cruel light. "Ah, I see you remember now. Good. That saves me the trouble of explaining."
Abigail's heart raced as she scrambled out of bed, desperate to escape. But Alexander was too quick. He grabbed her arm, his grip like a vice.
"You're not going anywhere, Abigail. You're mine now. My bride, to be precise."
Abigail struggled and kicked, but Alexander's grip only tightened. "Let me go!" she screamed, but her voice was muffled by his hand.
"You'll do as I say, Abigail," he hissed. "You'll be my wife, my property. And you'll obey me."
Abigail's eyes filled with tears as she realized the true extent of her nightmare. She was trapped, at the mercy of a monster.
Abigail struggled and protested, trying to wriggle free from Alexander's grasp. "Let me go! I'm not going to be your wife! I don't even know you!"
Alexander's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, but you do know me, Abigail. Intimately, in fact."
Abigail's face burned with shame and anger. "That was rape, you monster! Not a marriage proposal!"
Alexander shrugged, his grip on her arm tightening. "Semantics, Abigail. You're mine now. And you'll do as I say."
Abigail's mind raced, desperate for a way out. "Where's my phone? How did I even get here?"
Alexander chuckled, his eyes glinting with triumph. "Your phone is safely tucked away, Abigail. And as for how you got here... well, let's just say you were in no state to refuse my hospitality."
Abigail's heart raced, her thoughts reeling with horror and fear. She knew she had to escape, but how? And where could she turn for help?
Alexander's grip on Abigail's arm relaxed slightly, his expression turning calculating. "Very well, Abigail. I'll tell you what you need to know. My parents, Reginald and Victoria, are arriving soon. They're eager to meet my new bride."
Abigail's eyes narrowed. "What do they have to do with this?"
Alexander smiled. "They're the ones who insisted I get married. They want a grandchild to secure the family legacy. And they're willing to do whatever it takes to get it."
Abigail's mind raced. "So, you're using me as a pawn in your family's game?"
Alexander shrugged. "Call it what you will. But you're mine now, Abigail. And you'll do as I say."
Just then, the doorbell rang. Alexander's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Ah, that must be them. Let's go, Abigail. Time to meet the family."
Abigail hesitated, but Alexander's grip on her arm tightened, pulling her along. They entered the living room, where Reginald and Victoria were waiting, their faces stern and expectant.
Alexander smiled, presenting Abigail like a trophy. "Mother, Father, meet my bride, Abigail."
Reginald's eyes narrowed. "So, this is the girl you've chosen. She's... acceptable."
Victoria's gaze was cold. "Yes, she'll do. But we expect great things from you, Abigail. You will produce an heir, and you will do it quickly."
Abigail's heart raced, her mind reeling with horror. She was trapped in a nightmare, with no escape in sight.
Abigail's eyes locked onto Alexander's, her voice firm. "I need to call my parents. They'll be worried sick about me."
Alexander raised an eyebrow. "You're in no position to make demands, Abigail. But I'll allow it. However, you'll have to be careful what you say. You're my bride now, and I won't have you undermining my authority."
Abigail's jaw clenched, but she nodded. "Fine. And what about...what your mother said? About getting pregnant?"
Alexander's smile was cold. "Ah, yes. That. Well, Abigail, I'm willing to make it worth your while. Half a million dollars, to be exact. If you get pregnant and have my child, I'll pay you that amount. And after you've fulfilled your duty, you're free to leave."
Abigail's eyes widened in disbelief. "You think I'm some kind of breeding machine? And what about my own desires, my own life?"
Alexander shrugged. "Your desires are irrelevant. You're mine now, Abigail. And you'll do as I say."
Abigail hesitated, her mind racing with the weight of Alexander's offer. Half a million dollars was a staggering amount, enough to pay for her parents' medical bills, her own schooling, and a secure future. But at what cost?
She looked up at Alexander, her eyes searching for any sign of humanity. But his gaze was cold, calculating, and unyielding.
With a heavy heart, Abigail made her decision. "Okay," she said finally. "I'll do it. But I want the money in a trust fund, managed by a lawyer. And I want a guarantee that I'll be free to leave after the baby is born."
Alexander's smile was triumphant. "Excellent choice, Abigail. I'll have my lawyer draw up the papers. And don't worry, you'll have everything you need...as long as you fulfill your end of the bargain."
Abigail felt a shiver run down her spine as Alexander's eyes seemed to bore into her soul. She knew she was making a deal with the devil himself, but she had no other choice.
