The whole hall was empty except for the two people that were shooting daggers at each other's with their eyes. Logan later broke the silence and said "you could only work your way into my bed with sleazy means but forget about me treating you like my wife. if you like, you can go complain to grandma but I promise to break your legs and pluck out one of your eyes the moment grandma reprimands me. You can weigh your pros and cons and choose your path" Sophia glared at him in disgust and angrily retorts "you think too highly of yourself Mr Steele, I don't want anything to do with you and if you want your grandmother to be convinced you can meet me in the car, we are nothing to each other but strangers that have been obliged to live under the same roof." she storms off to the Limousine that was waiting outside the hotel to take the newly wedded couple home and a minute later, Logan snaps out of the shock that her words had sent him into then a sinister smirk appeared on his perfectly carved face and he strides out and sits on the other side of the car. The car ride was quiet and the driver was drenched in cold sweat as at the time that they got to the mansion from the oppressive and deadly aura that the couple behind him was exuding. Finally they arrived at Logan Steele's mansion and Sophia had to look at him again and ask herself, "How rich is this man?" well she doesn't have the time to think cause this is her new home and her new life too. Logan came down from the car and looked at the woman in front of his house and muttered under his breath "welcome to hell".

The accidental bride Chapter 1 Accidental Bride one

There was pin-drop silence in the room, and it was enveloped in a deadly aura.

Bringing him out is hard enough, but getting him to have fun is next to impossible. Logan Steele, the one who could cover the entire sky in the city with one palm.

I can only imagine how oppressive the air in the room seems, but David Grant, the carefree friend, does not care about Logan's gloomy face. Waitress, one more round of drinks, please, he called out to the lady on standby.

Logan, having enough, stood up and set to leave, but David managed to hold him back, saying, It's your last night as a bachelor, dude. Don't you want to let loose and have some fun?

It's bad enough that you didn't allow us to invite some badass strippers, but now you want to leave halfway through? That's not fair enough, man. Logan, unable to resist his childhood best friend, decides to settle for a final round of drinks.

The waitress brings in the drinks with clammy hands, obviously scared of Logan and his oppressive aura, and she almost trips as she shoots her a deadly glare for staying too long. She cowers and runs out of the private room in fear of what Logan might do to her.

On getting outside, she leaves the bar and goes out to an abandoned alley to make a call: Hello, yes, I already put the powder in his drink. Yes, I watched him drink it directly.

His friends said his lodge is room 249. When are you going to send me the remaining payment? Okay then... I'll be expecting your good news... goodnight. She slinks away without anybody noticing and back to the private room.

Logan's eyes were turning red, and he was feeling weak and hot all over, and it took him a while to realize what had happened to him...

He drags David aside and whispers to him, I've been drugged; send everybody home; I have to go to the hotel room now. But before he could complete his words, he slipped to the ground, now sweating profusely.

David, in a fit of rage, sends their other friends home and helps Logan back to his room and leaves to get help. Unknown to him, the moment he leaves, a semi-conscious girl is also sent into the same room.

LOGAN'S POV

I've wanted to leave this place a long time ago, but due to the fact that I want to save David's face.

I'm very sure it took him a lot of resources to put this bachelor's night together for me.

I don't want this bachelor's night because I don't want to get married.

This marriage is a ruse put together by my grandmother, and I only agreed with her because she kept on threatening to die if I didn't agree to her absurd request, so I decided to get married to the daughter of the Parker family.

I was killing two birds with one stone.

How?

It was a contracted marriage that I requested as a way for them to repay the debts that their father was owing me before he passed away, and from what I had gathered, the family doesn't want the company to go bankrupt, so they would do everything for it to stay afloat, so when I sent them the request, I didn't give them a chance to refuse my request, so it was more like a command to them.

During the bachelor's night, I noticed the waitress shivering and acting all clumsy, but I felt like it was a reaction I had gotten used to from people, and then when she served the last rounds of drinks and ran out, I felt somehow, but I discarded the thought.

After having my last glass of drink, I started feeling hot from within, and I started feeling dizzy and lightheaded.

I tried to stand up, but I was very weak, and that was the moment I realized what was going on. I have been drugged.

This is definitely a very strong aphrodisiac because regular aphrodisiacs don't really work on me, but this one took effect almost immediately.

With the last of my strength, I called David and explained the situation to him, and he hurriedly, even though angry, sent everyone home, helped me to my hotel room, and ran out to find a doctor because Levi, my personal doctor, was out of town and couldn't rush back during that time.

A few minutes after David left, the door to my hotel room creaked open, and a tiny figure was pushed in... Are these people really testing my patience? I was angry and tired, but I tried not to move from my initial position because I was starting to feel really uncomfortable, and I didn't want any physical contact with any woman.

I thoroughly despise that gender. Suddenly, I heard a sweet and soft voice that seemed to be like an ember thawing all the coldness in my heart, and I instinctively moved to the source of the sound, and I noticed that it came from the tiny figure that was pushed in earlier.

I looked at her, and she seemed to be uncomfortable too, even more uncomfortable than I feel. Has she been drugged too?

I tried to check her temperature, suppressing the desire that was burning inside me; her face was flushed, and she was looking very alluring and tempting.

Before I could comprehend what was going on, she clung onto me like a koala, and at that moment, all rationality flew outside the window.

I flipped her over on the bed and kissed her, ripping her clothes apart in the process, and then I entered her roughly, but to my utmost surprise, she cried out in pain, Oh sh*t! It's her first time too. I instinctively became gentler, and I remember taking her several times before I finally felt satisfied, and then we fell asleep in the comfort of each other's embrace.

While the steamy session was going on, the Steele family mansion received a call from an anonymous person that almost sent the Matriarch into shock.

Hello... Yes, proceed... what?! ... That's impossible! ... Outrageous! ... Logan Steele? ...

Are you sure that it's my grandson?... in a hotel room with a woman?... I'll go confirm your news personally first thing in the morning...

I hope this information is valid; otherwise, you can do yourself a favor by disappearing from King's city before I get a hold of you... Bye...

First thing the next day, room 001 suddenly opened from outside the matriarch of the Steele family. Margaret Steele's eyes widened in shock and horror.

Logan Steele, her grandson whom she knows to despise women, was sleeping peacefully with a woman in his embrace, and what was more shocking were the glaring red stains on the white sheets.

It is very obvious what has happened the night before.

If this had happened a week earlier, Margaret Steele would have been happy, but Logan's wedding was meant to be held TODAY!.

Suddenly, an idea bulb lights in her head, and the expression on her face changes from shocked to happy, and the people beside her could not help but look at themselves like, Is she alright? Then she calls her personal assistant and says, When they wake up, get the stylists to dress the lady up for the wedding and bring Logan to my study.

If he refuses to come, tell him he can wait for news of my death. They are getting married tonight.

Tell the other girl from the Parker family that I have set my sights on another person.

Also check the background of this girl, and I expect reports in an hour.

She struts away happily, almost prancing all the way back to her car.

Later the same morning, the two bodies on the bed stir awake and open their eyes at the same time.

SOPHIA'S POV

I screamed as my eyes widened in horror, realizing what had happened to me.

I try to wrap my head around what had happened, and then I recall the last thing that happened before I zoned out.

My stepmother Evelyn and my stepsister Samantha had given me a cup of fruit punch, and I had lost consciousness afterwards.

Oh no, I've been drugged. What have I done? I muttered to herself but suddenly snapped back to reality when I realized that someone else was on the same bed, and it was at that minute that I felt the bone-wrecking pain in my lower body.

It felt like a truck had run me over or something like that, and my head was aching badly. I whipped my head towards the person on the other side of the bed and then back at my naked body under the blanket.

Gathering all the courage I could muster, I wrapped the blanket around myself in the speed of light and zoomed into the bathroom.

On entering the bathroom, my legs gave out under me, and I sat on the floor, and for the first time since my father entered the comatose state, I cried hard.

I have failed myself and my father.

I always thought Samantha and Evelyn would only continue using their petty methods; I never knew they would stoop so low.

This is definitely the straw that broke the camel's back. They not only drugged me but sent me into the bed of a stranger.

I tried to find my phone to call my friend, Anna, to bring me some clothes, but that seemed impossible, and I began to panic, but then I heard a knock on the door.

Miss Parker, please come outside; the president asked me to talk to you and get you some clothes. I cracked the door open and took the clothes.

I put them on very fast and come outside to talk to him while wondering how he knows my name.

But then the next thing he said seemed to shock me into oblivion: Miss Parker, I am Daniel, the personal assistant of the matriarch of the Steele family.

I was sent by the matriarch to inform you of your wedding to Mr. Logan Steele today, and outside this door, your makeup artist and stylist are waiting for you.

I arrived at my uncle’s mansion looking like human trash, clutching a one-way bus ticket and a duffel bag stuffed with old newspaper. My aunt looked at me with pure disgust, as if she could smell the poverty on my skin, but they needed me for one thing: to be a sacrificial lamb. They told me I was getting married to Julian Sterling, a man the elite circles called a violent monster locked in a cage. My uncle forced me to sign away my soul to save their failing fortune, while my cousin Kayla laughed and threw a torn dress at my feet, calling me a "rat from the Rust Belt." At the Sterling estate, the nightmare only deepened. Julian’s stepmother treated me like a horse she was forced to buy, ordering the staff to "burn off" my hair before locking me in the West Wing. I was thrown into a padded cell with a man who lunged at me, his heavy chains rattling against the floor as he roared with an animalistic rage that had already killed two nurses. They thought I was a pathetic, uneducated girl who "didn't read so good." They didn't know I had extorted two million dollars from my uncle before walking out the door, or that I was secretly recording every slap and insult they threw at me for future leverage. I huddled in the corner of that dark cell, letting them watch me tremble on the security feeds. I let Julian’s sister strike me with a riding crop and splash water in my face, playing the role of the clumsy, sobbing idiot to perfection. But the moment the cameras looped, the scared girl vanished. I pinned the "monster" to the floor, cut the neural tracking chip out of his neck with a hidden scalpel, and whispered into his ear as his blue eyes finally cleared. They thought they were sending a lamb to the slaughter. They had no idea they were sending a wolf to hunt a beast.

I married Clive Harrington, the coldest billionaire in Manhattan, under a strict contract that forbade any emotional burdens. When I needed a high-risk surgery to save my sight, I checked into the clinic alone, hiding the procedure from a husband who saw me as nothing more than a legal asset. I thought I could handle the darkness in silence. But while I was blind and bandaged in my hospital bed, my biological mother called, screaming that if I didn't produce a Harrington heir by the end of the fiscal year, she would cut off the life-saving treatments for my disabled sister. I was crawling on the cold hospital floor, desperately feeling for a cane I had dropped, when I touched a pair of expensive leather shoes. It was Clive. He was supposed to be in London closing a multi-million dollar deal, but there he was, watching his "contract wife" groveling in the dark like a beggar. He didn't walk away in disgust. He carried me to a five-thousand-dollar-a-night VIP suite and sat by my bed, listening in chilling silence as another voicemail from my mother filled the room, calling me a "useless broodmare" who was only worth the trust fund disbursements my marriage secured. I expected him to remind me of Clause 34B or hand me divorce papers now that I was "damaged goods." Instead, I felt his thumb brush a stray tear from my cheek, his presence shifting from a statue of ice into a predatory shield. "I thought I was just currency to you," I whispered, my voice trembling behind the gauze. "Just an investment." Clive didn't answer with words. He picked up his phone and called his head of legal with a single, terrifying command: "Kill the Douglas family’s credit lines. Every debt, every lien—trigger them all. If they want a war, I’ll give them a massacre." As he leaned down to kiss my bandaged forehead, I realized the contract was dead. My husband wasn't protecting an asset anymore; he was hunting the people who had dared to touch what belonged to him.

I went to the New York City Clerk's office to handle a simple administrative matter, but the woman behind the glass handed me a nightmare instead. It was a certified marriage license from Clark County, Nevada, filed exactly three months ago. My vision blurred as I read the name in the spouse field: Baxter Noel. I was legally married to the ruthless billionaire whose legal team was currently suing me for intellectual property theft and trying to destroy my career. I remembered the conference in Las Vegas and a drink that tasted far too sweet, followed by a twelve-hour black hole in my memory that I had chalked up to exhaustion. When I sought help at my family's estate, my stepmother and sister didn't offer comfort; they stole my passport, shredded my clothes, and framed me for academic plagiarism to strip away my university fellowship. Even Baxter himself looked me in the eye with cold indifference, claiming he didn't know me and promising to have me arrested for fraud if I ever showed him that document again. Within twenty-four hours, I was homeless, jobless, and being hunted by the most powerful man in the city. I couldn't understand why a man who "eats people for breakfast" would be caught in the same trap as a struggling scientist like me. The confusion turned to pure terror when I looked at the witness signature on the license: Gene Mcclain. My mother, who was supposed to have died in a car crash ten years ago, had signed that paper with a fresh, trembling hand only ninety days ago. "I am holding a grenade, and I have no idea when the pin was pulled." Standing in the biting November wind with nothing but a laptop and a marriage license, I realized I was just a pawn in a much deadlier game. I stopped running and began to fight back, determined to use my unwanted status as the billionaire's wife to uncover the truth about the mother who came back from the dead.

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.
