Ariet!!!, come down for breakfast!", Mrs Pearl, Ariet's mother called from downstairs.
Ariet stirred in her sleep, still tired from her late night preparation for her job interview today. She murmured some incorhent and inaudible words for a few seconds before her eyes fluttered open. She closed her eyes back almost immediately as she tried to adapt to the bright environment. She rolled slightly on the bed as her eyes observed her surroundings before finally resting on her wonderfully white ceiling that is intricately designed to her taste.
As though she quickly recalled something, she took a quick glance at her purple alarm clock on her bed side drawer. It read 8:04 AM. She lay still on the bed, her mind still in a haze.
"I set my alarm clock to 6:30AM, I woke up pretty late today. That's rare!", she said more like a question to herself.
"Arie, come down for breakfast! Are you still asleep?", Mrs Pearl called from downstairs once again because Ariet didn't answer her the previous time. "It's getting cold, I won't allow you to microwave it if it gets cold", she added sternly and loud enough for Ariet to hear from upstairs where her room is located.
"She is such a pain in the ass", Ariet mused to herself. "I don't kn...", she paused on what she was about to spurt out abruptly. Her pupils dilated as she immediately remembered that she has job interview to attend at 9:30 AM. As though struck by lightning, she immediately climbed down from her fluffy and comfortable bed, yanking the purple blanket off her body.
"8:24", she screamed in her head as she took a quick glance at the alarm clock once again. "What the f*ck is wrong with me? Today of all days? I'm so done for!", she scolded herself inwardly as she made her way to the neat bathroom.
Wonderful haircare and body care products lined extensively on one side of the bathroom. On a normal day, when she has a lot of time, she would have preferred using the bathtub to the shower but today was definitely not a normal day for her. It was like her mind was playing tricks on her. "Why today of all days?"
She grabbed her sponge and soap, rubbed them against each other and poured water on them almost immediately with precision and ultimate accuracy. She wasted no time in scrubbing her body parts giving special attention to some of them than the others. Having completed scrubbing her body, she dropped the sponge and soap in the soap case and let the water cascade down her wonderfully smooth and curvaceous body. She quickly turned off the shower and stepped away from the faucet. Her body glistened with water as she partially ran to the towel hanger located on one side of the bathroom.
She sighed as she grabbed a lilac coloured towel and began to dry her body and hair swiftly. Due to the hurry she was in, she had forgotten to avoid wetting her hair as time was far spent by the time she awoke. She hurried out if the toilet without bothering to drape the already wet towel over her body. She flung the towel on her already disorganized bed with less care about the soaked material wetting her bed.
Luckily for her, she had arranged the clothes she is to wear the previous night which had saved her some time. She quickly withdrew the already arranged clothes and wore them. After wearing her clothes, she hurried to her shoe rack and grabbed a pair of heels. She didn't bother to wear them, she held them from the straps in her hand as she bolted out of the door in a speed of light. The door made a defeating noise as she flung it open with great force that made it to hit the well painted wall. She didn't even close the door as she hurried down the stairs.
She almost tripped on the stairs as she ran but she immediately regained her balance at the die minute.
Totally forgetting her mum and her long awaited breakfast, she ran towards the door with her shoe still in her hand. She was about turning the door knob when her mother's voice rang out from behind her.
"Where are you hurrying to without eating you breakfast? You didn't even greet me a mere Good Morning!", she taunted and questioned, her hands folded below her breasts, her legs slightly apart.
Ariet halted as she rolled her eyes and sighed slightly at the confrontation from her mother. Her mother had the habit of forgetting little things and making big things out of nothing. But was she really making a big thing out of nothing today?
She turned swiftly to the dining table where her meal was neatly and properly arranged without responding to her mum. Her mouth watered slightly at the sight of the food but she didn't have time to savour the moment or the food either to her utmost dismay. She is a complete foodie.
Without sitting down, she lifted the bowl containing the food and took not more than three spoons from it before dropping it. She didn't even swallow the food in her mouth before shoving another spoonful in. She headed to the living room where she had kept her already packed bag and documents which she had already arranged the previous night. She nearly forgot her bag and documents; thanks to her waking up late. Of her mum hadn't called her before she bolted out of the house, she would have forgotten them. Although, she had already sent the copies of the document to the company's email, it was essential that she also carried a spare copy. She took a quick glance at her wristwatch before opening the door and rushing out.
Her mother, Mrs Pearl who was sitted at the living room shook her head slightly immediately Ariet banged the door close. "Way to go,Arie. I bet she didn't finish that food. I didn't even get to remind her to wear her shoes before she left", she said as she exhaled slightly, her eyes slightly fixed on the living room exit door Ariet went through some seconds ago.
