Web of love

Edie could hear ambiguous sounds coming from her room in the apartment she shared with her boyfriend. She pauses her steps and takes a deep breath praying that what she is thinking is just her imagination. The more she approaches the louder the sound became. " You have to leave Edie if you want to be with me". A female voice said. Edie's hand on the door knob froze when she heard the voice. " Don't worry baby I'm just using that bitch so that I can get my hands on everything she has". said a male voice.

Looking at the girl in his arms he added " You know I only have eyes for you right? he chuckled. The girl scoffed " it better be". Edie stood in front of the door with tears streaming down her face. She couldn't believe that her boyfriend whom she had dated for four years cheated on her with her stepsister. She felt hurt and betrayed at the same time. She wiped the tears on her face, mastered the courage and barged into the room. " Charles"! She called out in a hoarse voice. The couple on the bed were leaning in each other's embrace and didn't expect someone to barge in on them. Charles and Stacy looked at each other with shocked expression on their faces. They didn't expect Edie be here. Charles got up and rushed towards Edie. " Edie listen to, is not..... " Don't, just don't" Edie cut him off. She turned and looked at her sister. " Stacy I trusted you and this is how you repay me? I've always treated you as the sister I never had even though you never did the same with me, I still had the hope that one day you will see me as one, but who was I kidding" she laughed mockingly. Stacy sneered " Edie I am not sorry you found out cause Charles and I love each other so all you have to do is leave him for me because he doesn't even care about you, nevertheless love you". Edie slapped Stacy right in the face. The slap wasn't that strong but Stacy intentionally fell back and bumped her head on the arm chair in the room. Charles glared hard at Edie " Are you crazy! he rushed to Stacy and lifted her up in her arms. Blood was oozing down from her forehead. Stacy looked at Charles with tears in her eyes. " Charles she, she did that on purpose" she cried. Edie looked at Stacy with a shocked expression. She knew she didn't exert too much strength in the slap so how come she fell and hit her head?. " I didn't mean to" she tried to explain but Charles didn't give her a chance. " That's enough Edie"! Don't you get it huh? he shouted " I don't love you anymore that's the truth. " And yes I did cheat on you with Stacy and I know it was wrong but I'm a man whose feelings can change anytime, you can blame me all you want I don't care! All I want you to understand is that I don't love you anymore Edie" he sighed. Listening to him, Edie felt a pang in her heart. She felt as if someone was stabbing her heart with needles. It was so painful. She couldn't believe that she had loved this guy for four years. And what did she get in return? Betrayal!. Yes! the person she loved and trusted betrayed her. She had dreamed of getting married to this guy but now, it was all a fantasy. Stacy who was in Charles arms had a smug look on her face. " oh poor sister, I just snatched your man from you. It feels so good seeing you suffer but this is just the beginning you wait and watch. She thought feeling happy. Edie loved her stepsister but now she hated her to the core. At that very moment she remembered what her deceased mother used to tell her " Edie honey, what ever happens in your life always remember to stay strong !" It felt like a mantra in her head. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She looked at Charles and Stacy and smiled " Since the both of you love each other so much, all I can do is give you my blessing right? She sighed and shook her head. " I wish I could but I can't, am sorry". She turned around to leave but Stacy stopped her. " Sister I'm so sorry" she sobbed " Charles and I didn't mean to hurt you please forgive us" she cried even harder. Edie scoffed at Stacy's reaction " Ha! Who do you think you're fooling here Stacy hmmm"? " what did I even expect from a home wrecker's daughter like you"! " You are just like your mother, two shameless bitches!" Slap! Charles couldn't bear Edie's insult towards Stacy so he slapped her. Edie's eyes widened " You slapped me for her? She questioned feeling hurt. Stacy felt glad when Edie was slapped by Charles. " Charles why did you do that" Stacy asked feigning anger. " What? Are you feeling bad for her"? he scoffed. He turned his gaze to Edie and instructed " Get out of here before I do something crazy" out"! he shouted. " I own half of this apartment so I decide when to leave and when not to" Edie retorted. Charles laughed as if he had heard a joke of the century. Edie stared at Charles with a frown. " You own what huh? " sorry to burst your bubble but you signed full ownership to me remember? He said with a content smile on his lips. "No I never signed anything, where is the evidence"? Edie fumed. Charles threw a stack of papers on Edie's face. She took the papers and was shocked to see her signature on it. She drop the papers and staggered backwards. " No, no, no this can't be! "You tricked me you jerk! She ran towards him and started yelling, hitting him in the process. " Asshole ! I hate you!" She lamented. Charles pushed her away with a sneer. " Do you think I care"? " Now get out!. He held her arm and dragged her out of the apartment. After throwing her out, he went back to treat the wound on Stacy's forehead. " Now what? Stacy asked once he came back. " What do you mean by that"? he asked back while treating the wound on her head. Stacy sighed " Now that Edie and you broke up what are you planning to do with me? She inquired. Charles eyes softened looking at her " Don't worry I got it all figured out, come on go and lie down for a bit". He lovely kissed her cheek. Stacy smiled happily "ok".
