Protective Bodyguard

Born into a wealthy family that influenced the country, having many tough and genius cousins and an only daughter who was highly guarded by her father and her family did not make Lyorna Graves safe.

"Where is Sereia?"

Lyorna Graves descended the stairs gracefully. She had long olive-colored hair, her skin white and flawlessly smooth. Her eyes were both golden brown in color. She was wearing long pants and a blazer.

"Sereia will not return, Miss Lyorna."

Lyorna Graves stopped at the stairs, staring coldly at the maid who answered her question.

Sereia was Lyorna Graves' bodyguard, whose loyalty Lyorna Graves had no doubt about.

"Why? No wonder I feel something is strange with her since she hasn't been seen since I woke up. Did she run away or something? If she did run away, hurry up and find her and bring her before me!"

Lyorna continued down the stairs.

"That's impossible, Miss Lyorna."

"Because your father fired him."

Lyorna immediately pushed her long hair back. "This must be from the charity event."

Lyorna Graves often attended charity events with her cousin, Ishaan. Yesterday, she suddenly received a message with a death threat. On her way home, she was attacked by a group of people wearing masks. Luckily, Ishaan managed to save her, but she didn't reveal the mysterious message. She didn't think it was that important because she thought it was some guy who was crazy about her.

Lyorna sighed. "Call Sereia! I can't just let her leave without telling me first; even if she was forced by my father, he should at least let me talk to her first."

Lyorna left for the office with frustration in her heart.

Lyorna immediately met Ishaan at the office.

"What did you say to my father about the assault? I told you not to take it seriously and spread the word. Why can't you keep a secret? You have broken my trust, Ishaan."

"I did keep it a secret from others, but your father should know about this. We don't know who was behind the attack."

"I'm sure the mastermind behind the attack is a man who likes me, but he doesn't know what to do, so he chose this path."

"Why are you so confident?"

"I've had several experiences like that."

Ishaan was surprised.

"Lyorna Graves, you should be escorted frequently for your safety."

"I've never stood out as Lyorna Graves. Compared to you guys, I'm not famous enough, am I?"

Ishaan was tired of dealing with Lyorna Graves. He picked up some files and got to work. Lyorna Graves did the same. Lyorna Graves loved working in her office. The monotony of life was not bad for her. In the middle of enjoying her work, her cell phone rang.

It was her protective father, Nolan.

"Lyorna, why are you going to work? I told you to take some time off until it was safe."

Lyorna immediately protested the dismissal of her favorite bodyguard.

"Father, why did you just fire Sereia without discussing it with me first? And what is this? It's completely safe? How can we be sure? We never know if something like this will happen again or not. I didn't take it seriously. I'm angry at dad for firing Sereia. I don't want to know, I want Sereia back!"

"You can't!"

"Dad, can you stop?"

"If you take Sereia with you, you're putting her in danger. Not only you, Sereia almost got hurt too. She can't protect you. I've already found a substitute. Hurry home in fifteen minutes!"

"Dad, you can't just do whatever you want!"

The phone line was immediately disconnected by Nolan. Lyorna Graves sighed heavily. She decided to find Sereia herself. As she left the office, she bumped into Ishaan.

"Surely your father told you to go home?"

Lyorna Graves did not answer Ishaan's question. She had a very cold look on her face.

Arriving home, a still angry Lyorna Graves rushed into the house to see her father. She didn't look for Sereia right away, because if she didn't see her father right away, her father would surely get angry and report her to her grandfather. She could be locked up for a few days.

Lyorna Graves opened the door and found her father sitting in a plush chair. Her father rose and approached her.

"Are you sending Sereia to another house or are you taking her home?"

"Sereia is not coming back! Don't get emotionally involved with her! She is only your bodyguard. Nothing more and nothing less."

"She has been with me for a long time. It's like we grew up together. She's like my own friend. No, she's not. Even like family. Besides, I don't have siblings like my other cousins, but why would you fire her without telling me first?"

"You should train your heart more so that it doesn't waver from such things, Lyorna Graves! You were threatened with death! That's the most important thing. That's why I've prepared someone worthy to be your bodyguard."

Nolan turned. Lyorna Graves narrowed her eyes. She did not realize that someone had been there all along. This person approached Lyorna Graves and her father with firm steps.

The person's first impression was cold or stiff. His handsome face supported that impression.

"Introduce yourself!"

The human approached Lyorna Graves and knelt beneath her.

"My name is Akash Norville. From now on I will work under Miss Lyorna Graves to protect you with all my heart. I am willing to risk my life for the safety of Miss Lyorna Graves. I swear an oath of allegiance to Miss Lyorna Graves."

Lyorna Graves did not know what to say.

Lyorna Graves turned to the door with a sharp look in her eyes, surprised to find Akash Norville knocking on her door. His voice was stiff and emphatic.

Lyorna Graves became irritated. She lay down. The tears fell again. More and more. Until she finally fell asleep.

Akasah Norville knew he couldn't keep knocking on her mistress's door for fear of disturbing her. He asked the servants for Lyorna Graves' room key, just to be sure, but none of them had it.

"I have it, but I won't give it to you since you're new here."

The butler of the house, Karl, immediately confronted Akash Norville.

"Give me the key! I'll be the one holding it from now on. There's no reason why you can't trust me. I was sent here directly by Sir Nolan to be Miss Lyorna Graves' bodyguard. My job is to ensure her safety. Those who will not cooperate are not thinking of the safety of Miss Lyorna Graves.

Akash Norville hurried to his lady's room. He saw Lyorna Graves sleeping peacefully. Akash removed Lyorna Graves' heels, then carefully took off her blazer, then pulled the blanket over her.

"Have a good dream, miss."

After making sure Lyorna Graves was all right, Akash Norville left the room.

Lyorna Graves awoke when it was almost evening. She called her friends to invite them to a party. She was often stressed because of her father, and to cheer herself up, she went to a party with her friends. But she forgot that she already had a new bodyguard.
