SPARKING THE FIRE Chapter 1 [Prologue]

"Are you sure?" the man asked with a look of disbelief.

His eyes had scanned the beauty of this seductive-looking body in front of him countless times. Starting from her face that often adorns various magazines. Social media was also busy talking about the achievements of the girl who was now staring at him without pause. And what would be the impact and consequences if many people knew what they were doing in this room.

"I think that question is for you, Uncle... Bryan? Should I call you that?" the girl said with an amused giggle. She ruffled her hair. Revealing her slender neck, which only wore a necklace with her initials; HP.

"No." The man laughed. "You're not my nephew's future wife anymore, are you?" He gently stroked Celine's hair. "I didn't expect you to grow so beautiful like now."

"Wasn't I this beautiful before?" Celine's one step made their distance even thinner. Even as she brought her face closer, she whispered softly while teasing the man's chest. "I'm sad if that's the case."

"You're beautiful, Celine," the man said with a stifled growl. He wanted to resist the circular motion that Celine's fingertips were making on his chest. But he couldn't. Instead, he savored every touch Celine gave him. "So beautiful."

And because of their closeness, Bryan could clearly see how smooth and spotless Celine's body was even though it was still wrapped in a blouse that had not been completely removed from that beautiful body.

The girl's shoulders were no longer covered by the blouse worn for the banquet. Perhaps in one pull, her clothes had already slid down on the marble floor they were on. her breath was roaring seductively. Her face also looked flushed with desire.

"If you have any doubts, I'd rather just go back with my team." Celine thinned her smile. She did not want to linger here if the opponent seemed hesitant to act. Nevertheless, her heart prayed... that he would be tempted.

"Alright." Bryan Desmond, the man's name finally gave in. He let out a long sigh while holding the woman's shoulder. As if to give full confidence, if they were doing it on their own consciousness. Ah, no, but to reinforce his decision.

"So?" asked Celine with an alluring smile. "What do you want now?"

Their eyes met again. Celine's beady eyes were indeed misleading. I don't know where Celine got such beautiful eyes, but one thing was for sure... Bryan couldn't take his eyes anywhere else. Including when his fingers brushed her cheek. Guiding him not to move away as she brought her lips closer.

Touching the soft surface of Celine's seductively plump lips.

"Made you scream my name all night," Bryan says between their tender kisses. It was so gentle that when he said that, there was still a trace of saliva between them. "And because we're already here." In one swift movement, Bryan picked Celine up. Making the girl squeal and put her arms around his neck.

Then... he laughed.

"I don't want any rejection." Celine's body was slowly lowered to the center of the bed.

"I have no intention of rejecting you." Celine smiled cheerfully. Stretched a little to get comfortable, supporting her body with both hands. Leaving her hair a little messy. "But do it gently. I like softness."

A faint grin rose at the corners of Bryan's lips. "As you wish, Baby."

"And turn off your cell phone. I don't want any distractions, especially from your wife."

For seven years, I drank the bitter tonic my fiancé, Alpha Adrian, gave me, believing it would cure my "wolfless" defect. I was wrong. It was poison. He wasn't trying to heal me; he was keeping me weak so he could replace me with my foster sister, Ariel. When the fire consumed the Alpha's Wing, I was trapped under a burning beam, my legs crushed. Adrian kicked down the door. I reached out to him, screaming for help. But he didn't look at me. He looked at Ariel, who was lying on the floor in a silk nightgown. He scooped her up, cradling her like she was the only thing that mattered. I begged him not to leave me. Instead of helping, he used his Alpha Command on me, his voice booming with supernatural weight. "Stay put! I'll be back for you!" It was a lie. He used his power to freeze me in the inferno and left me to burn alive. I survived, only to watch him publicly reject me for her the next day, with my own father's blessing. They called me a "genetic dead end." They thought I would crawl away and die in shame. I didn't. I limped up the mountain to the Neutral Lands to find the one man everyone fears-the exiled Alpha, Garth Morgan. "I have the Gamma Bloodline Scroll," I told the massive figure emerging from the shadows. "I don't want your gratitude," Garth growled, his eyes like storm clouds. "I'm not here for gratitude," I replied, staring him down. "I'm here to make a deal with the devil."

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."
