Angeline and Bryan, a couple blessed with a newborn baby named Jason, face a heartbreaking reality when their child is diagnosed with a rare disease. Their dream of building a happy family is tested amid panic and fear. Bryan, the father, works tirelessly to find a cure for Jason. He consults numerous doctors and medical experts, but no one can provide a definitive answer. Their hopes dwindle further when they learn that the only treatment for Jason's illness is a costly medication available in just one European country-far beyond their financial means. In the midst of despair, Angeline, the mother, refuses to give up. She is willing to sell all her jewelry and personal assets, while Bryan sacrifices part of his company's shares. But even their combined efforts fall short. How will Angeline and Bryan navigate this trial-filled journey? Will Jason's life be saved?

Chapter 1 Oh my, Jason!

It was a sunny and warm afternoon, and the three-year-old boy was happily kicking a soccer ball with his father. Anyone would have smiled at this sweet sight.

From afar, Angeline watched and clapped occasionally when her only child scored a goal. She stood up and cheered enthusiastically, causing Bryan to turn around and snort.

"You're just rooting for Jason?" Bryan asked. His tone sounded hopeless.

Without hesitation, Angeline nodded and smiled widely. "Of course I'm rooting for Jason!" she replied with an amused laugh.

Angeline was delighted to see Bryan's face, as if the man was showing that he too wanted support. Returning to her seat, Angeline slowly drank her mangosteen juice. She was really enjoying the atmosphere today. It felt calm and peaceful.

Truly, the happiness she now felt could not be expressed in words. Angeline was thrilled to see her little family intact like this.

Yes, she and Bryan had returned to the household with Jason as a complement. There was nothing more precious than that.

Angeline waved at Jason who turned to her and said, "Let Daddy win this time. Don't make me cry!"

Jason laughed, more like teased Bryan who looked rather upset. However, he didn't give him the ball as his mother had instructed.

"Just so you know, son, I gave in earlier to make you happy," Bryan teased back.

He would do anything to see his son laugh, and Bryan had deliberately neglected to guard his goal so Jason could score. Unexpectedly, Angeline, who was watching, didn't encourage him at all for the sacrifice he was willing to lose and make for their only child.

"Is it true?" Jason kicked the ball and ran.

Seeing that, Bryan followed. This time he wasn't going to give Jason a chance. Of course, he easily caught up, kicking the ball back as it rolled toward his goal.

"Dad!" Jason shouted loudly. He was surprised that his father was suddenly so strong, even though he had been leading the way.

Jason, who was still very young, didn't understand what sacrifice meant. He just thought he was the real hero because he had scored more than five times.

However, now it was Bryan's turn to laugh with delight. His sturdy legs only needed to run without power, but Jason was already lagging far behind.

Meanwhile, Angeline shook her head to see Jason's eyes filled with tears. She got up from her seat and walked into the house. Regarding Jason, Angeline entrusted everything to Bryan. The son and father should get closer by spending time together.

Angeline opened the refrigerator. At Bryan's house, there were apparently no cooking ingredients that could be processed. He himself had not had time to go shopping because he had been so busy lately. Angeline scratched her head absentmindedly and went back outside to her son and husband.

"Aren't you tired?" asked Angeline a little shouted, because the distance between her and Bryan and Jason was quite far.

The two men of different ages turned their heads and approached Angeline who was now waving. The ball that was originally a bone of contention just rolled on the green grass.

"I want to eat fried chicken!" Jason shook his fist in the air, a sign that he was very excited.

"Let's go to a restaurant instead." Bryan put his arm around his wife's waist intimately.

Angeline nodded and they went to a nearby restaurant to have lunch together. Today the trio's schedule was very relaxed. There were no work-related hassles. Angeline and Bryan had agreed to spend as much time as possible with Jason. Moreover, Bryan wanted to make up for the time that had passed.

Arriving at the nearest restaurant, Jason saw his favorite menu. The tiny hands asked Bryan to hold him.

"What do you want?" Bryan asked.

"Ice cream!" Jason replied excitedly.

Angeline, who was next to them and was choosing a menu, turned around. She shook her head at her son.

"No ice cream today, Jason," she said gently.

Jason looked sad. He really wanted to enjoy vanilla-flavored ice cream on this sunny day. But why did Angeline forbid it?

Jason's arms wrapped around Bryan's neck, he was making a move to ask for it. Jason was confident that his father would fulfill all his wishes, because he usually did.

"No, don't try to ask your father." Angeline folded her arms across her chest before Jason whispered to Bryan.

Meanwhile, Bryan frowned. The tail of his eyes went to Jason and looked at him. Then he laughed amusedly.

"Why don't you just give it to me? Jason seems to really want ice cream." Bryan tried to negotiate.

Angeline firmly shook her head. "No. Yesterday and yesterday again, Jason always eats ice cream. Not today. If he eats too much, his throat will hurt."

Ah, right. Bryan nodded and understood what Angeline meant.

"All right, Jason. We can get ice cream tomorrow afternoon. How about it?" Bryan lowered his only son from the carrier.

Jason seemed to object. With tears in his eyes, he shook his head and looked at Bryan instead.

It was unnerving, but Bryan knew that Angeline's prohibition had good reason to be obeyed. Clearly she knew what was best for their child.

"Come on, Jason. If this lunch runs out, I'll buy you your favorite toy. How about it?" Angeline tried to make an offer.

Unexpectedly, Jason immediately nodded. They sat down at the table by the window. Bryan now looked at his son and wife with a smile that never faded.

Their conversation was light but warm, with Jason occasionally asking to be fed by Bryan and Angelina.

Their laughter was cut short, however, when Jason suddenly coughed a few times. Angeline looked worried, but Bryan tried to stay calm.

"Is your throat sore?" asked Angeline. She handed him some warm water that the waitress had just delivered.

Jason just nodded. His voice had suddenly gone so he couldn't answer Angeline's question.

"Maybe I gave him a tough piece of chicken," Angeline complained, blaming herself.

Bryan looked up and shook his head. "No, I didn't. You did absolutely nothing wrong."

Angeline wiped her face because Jason's coughing hadn't stopped. As she reached for a tissue, Jason suddenly spit something out of his mouth.

Both Angeline and Bryan were immediately surprised because Jason's vomit was a red liquid. Meanwhile, Jason immediately cried loudly.

"Oh my God, Jason!" Angeline screeched even more uneasily. Immediately she took over Jason by lifting his body.

"We're going to the hospital now!" Bryan said firmly. He ran to the car first and opened the door.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the restaurant became more crowded. Everyone saw it and they were equally dumbfounded.
