Billionaire's Regret: Getting My Badass Wife Back Chapter 1 Divorce Papers.

Louisa:

"Congratulations ma'am, you're pregnant!" The doctor announced happily, showing me the results with a cool smile.

"What? Doctor, I'm.." I stammered, my heart pounding forcefully as if I would go breathless. I couldn't believe this. I never knew it was possible.

Years ago I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I couldn't give birth. I had no hopes of having a little one in my belly, I knew I would never feel that special baby's kick.

"Yes ma'am, you're two months pregnant. The baby is safe." He smiled warmly and I nearly stumbled, but he caught me with a smile.

My head was spinning fast. My heart was bubbling with excitement. Finally Alex would be happy. In fact, his mother might even love me. I've suffered cruelty in her hands due to the mere fact that I, a poor simple girl, married into their wealthy family. When she discovered my infertility, her hatred for me worsened.

But now everything will be over. God has finally heard my prayers. He's finally given me a chance at happiness.

I thanked the doctor, trying so hard to hide my smile. For weeks, I've noticed slight changes in my body but I never had the guts to go for a checkup. Tonight, I felt restless so I had to sneak out to see a doctor without anyone's notice.

"Alex would be so happy!!" I squealed like a little girl as I rushed out of the hospital.

I decided to call him, barely containing my happiness. There's no way I'm waiting till I get home. Tomorrow we're going shopping for baby's things – I can't wait– and we'll spend the day together, just the two of us.

He picked up on the second ring. "Babe," I smiled breezily. " I have great news."

"So do I." He said in the coldest voice ever, making my heart skip a beat.

What's happening? Why did he sound that way? His tone was so brutal, as if he was suppressing deep seated rage.

I panicked, trying to play it cool. "What...?

My voice got stuck in my throat when I heard a deep throaty moan from the other end of the line.

"Ouch.. Xander!" A girl moaned sweetly, gasping for air. "Faster!!!!"

Alex immediately disconnected the call, leaving me speechless and flustered.

What's happening??? Was someone in the room with him? Were they.. making out???

I immediately boarded a taxi, my heart racing each second as I was driven to our mansion. I literally flew out of the car, desperate to get inside. In the process, I left my wallet in the taxi but I didn't care. I needed to get in now.

I was about to pass Jenna's room, when I heard the moanings loudly. Oh my goodness... Was that Alex's voice?

"Give it to me, baby!!"

"Faster... daddy!!"

I slammed open the door, my eyes widening with dread. My best friend, Jenna, who lived with us, was making out with my husband. Once Alex saw me, he made a deep grunt, ignoring me completely as he kept thrusting in.

She was pinned to the bed, naked, her legs over his shoulders.

My soul left my body. I felt like I was dead, my body turned cold. Slowly, I dropped to my knees, my body suddenly limp and useless.

"Alexander!! What the fuck are you doing??" I screamed madly, tears spilling out of my eyes.

Finally, he pulled out, zipping his trousers. "You loved that, sugar?" He asked Jenna who pouted, pecking his lips. She adjusted her lacy bra and torn panties.

The pain and anger swirling inside me threatened to consume me. This was the same girl I brought to my matrimonial home because a conflagration destroyed her apartment. She's been living with me for a year.

How could they?

"Oh don't act surprised, you bitch! You think you have a right to question me? After what you did?" He growled menacingly.

I gulped in nothing. "I don't know what you're talking about! What did I do?" I fired, trying not to cry. My chest was tightening.

He laughed harshly. "Denying huh?" He shook his head, pursing his lips. Then, he pulled out his phone showing me a video.

My heart cracked. There were some explicit videos and pictures of me and another man naked on the bed. We were kissing and sucking. What the fuck?? This.... never happened.

"You know, when Jenna told me this, I bluntly refused to believe it. She even showed me sultry conversations with you and some stranger, yet I never believed. Until the day you went with Clara to Washington for her business trip. While she was away you probably slept with men. There are at least five videos of you with five different men!!" He yelled with rage. "You can watch all of them, if you like."

"I got the video a month ago, the same day you got back from the Trip.."

"And since then, we've been sleeping together." Jenna added wickedly, twirling her slightly disheveled golden hair.

I looked at the girl who I called my best friend with disgust. I was speechless, my heart burning with pain. This felt like a joke because I've never for once strayed. I've been faithful to my husband. I would never do this to him.

"This isn't true, please! I would never do this to you! I'm your wife, we've been together for three years, yet you're trusting this stranger? Please Alex..." I tried to touch him but he pushed me forcefully and my butt slammed on the cold floor.

"The fact that you're lying is pissing me off. What have you got to lose bitch, why don't you just confess? I respected and trusted you and this is how you repay me? Making yourself cheap??" He growled with disdain.

"Alexander! I'm pregnant with your child!!" I gasped in desperation. "isn't that what you wanted?"

It's been his wish for years now. It was certainly a shocking revelation especially after I had a disease which nearly destroyed my womb. I never knew I would be this lucky to have a chance. It was incredible.

Alexander and I got married three years ago, and unfortunately I couldn't conceive. He was so thoughtful that he didn't harass me because of it, he made me feel loved. And that's the reason I'm still here – his family abhors me.

My mother-in-law is a shitty woman who vowed to make life miserable for me, but because of her son, she couldn't carry out her sick plans. Alex's sister was just like her. Cruel, psychotic maniac.

"I'm carrying our baby... it's so little, so cute... i.." I stammered, searching frantically for my purse only to remember that I left it at the cab. Shit! The reports were in there.

Alexander sauntered to a desk and roughly grabbed a file. He thrusted it at me, aggressively. "Here. We're done!"

My mind went black with shock as I tried to process everything he was saying. I knew what he was giving me even before I collected it. I exhaled deeply, my chest constricting

"Alexander.... what's this?" I asked in a cracked voice.

"Divorce papers! I'm done with a cheating slut like you!"

"What?" I gasped, my eyes widening with dread.

This can't be happening.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

The Discarded Heiress: Marrying My Lethal Husband

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."
