Chapter 1(Two sides of love)

" I'm off to work; I will see you when I get back," Emily said while packing up her office bag to head out. "Here's your lunch bag," her mom said while handing her lunch bag.

She took it from her, hugged her, and kissed hers on her cheek."Thanks, bye, Mom. Love you," She said and walked out of the house, went to her car, and sighed deeply; her face was dull. She pulled down the mirror in her car and applied her lip gloss.

Emily stares at her rearview mirror her face express changes as she looks surprised and pissed, and the mirror

was broken. "Ooh shit," she said and let out a deep breath and waved her head in annoyance; she inserted her key, started her engine, and drove off.

In a few minutes, she packs In front of the school with students, as their laughter and chatter fill the air like music, lockers are been slammed down, she lifts a smile at the students who greets her.

"Good morning, Miss Wilson," a student greeted her smiling as she walked away.

Just then, the dean approached Emily "Good morning Miss Wilson, well the principal would like to see you in his office right now please" she told her in a calm tone and walked away

Emily expresses changes as her face looks worried and upset at the same time. She's well aware that the principal is not happy with him, so he sighs and heads for his office to see him immediately.

Knocks on the door." May I come, Mr Williams?" The principal stares at the door. "Yes, Miss Wilson, please come inside and have a seat." Emily walks in, closes the door, and helps herself to the seat. "Thank you," She said while sitting down.

The principal who was standing when Emily walked in also sat down opposite her, he pulled out his drawer and brought out a file, placed front of Emily, and said

"Miss Wilson firstly, I appreciate you so much and your efforts so far in this school, however, the parents are complaining, their children's grades are gradually going down, and it has come to my knowledge that you are hardly active in class, is there something you would like to let me know miss Wilson"

He asked with a concerned look on his face

"Oh...Oh, I'm deep...look, Mr Williams, I'm deeply sorry about everything. I'm just going through a lot, and is it stupid of me not to be professional enough and allow my personal life to collide with my work??"Emily told him with guilt and embarrassment written all over her.

"Look, Miss Wilson, I understand that we are all humans, and is not a crime to be overwhelmed by personal life that sometimes affects our work but I need you to know that every one of us has something bothering us but I think it would be best if we learn to put it aside immediately we walk into the school building because in here you are not Emily but miss Wilson so please I would not like to get a report like this again especially not from someone like you because I admire your efforts," He said in a calm and concerning tone.

"As I said earlier, I will get myself together and I assure you it won't happen again" she assured him

Mr Williams nodded his head in concurrence as Emily thanked him and made her way to the door.

Emily walked out of his office; as she was about to head to her class, she heard a female voice behind her; she turned around to see Kate, her friend and colleague as well.

"Guess he gave you an ear full, did he not?" she said in a joking manner while handing her a cup of coffee

Emily smiles and takes it from her

"Well surprisingly he was calm about it," she said while sipping her coffee

"Bet he must have been in a good mood today., da.y They both laughed softly and made their way to their classes.

A car pulls In Front of Walter's company's building, and stepping down from the car is a man exuding confidence and charisma with rugged charm; he turns his head wherever he goes.

Bob Walter a multimillionaire and a business tycoon he presence always commands attention, even without him seeking it

Bob carries himself with a magnetic allure that leaves a lasting impression on anyone he meets; he is not just handsome, but he is a force to be reckoned with. He is a perfect blend of strength, character, and undeniable appeal.

He gets out of his car, and as he approaches the building, he is greeted by the sound of clicking heels on the marble floor and the hum of voices echoing through the spacious lobby.

Bob is greeted by his staff as he nods his head without smiling and makes his way to his office, leaving his employees rushing to and from, clutching files and laptops.

He reaches his office opens the door and is surprised to see a lady in a sexy gown seated at his desk and smiling naughtily at him

"Hey Bob, I thought I would come to surprise you this morning since you haven't answered my call since yesterday," She said to him still smiling

Bob didn't say anything to her, nor did he return the smile she was giving him since he walked inside his office, closed the door behind him, and said to her

"What are you doing here, Ava? Who let you in my office?" She smiles, gets up from his desk, and walks seductively towards him; she goes close to him and circles her hands around his neck.

"I couldn't stop thinking about that night, to be honest"

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
