On the night Layla was sent away by her cruel aunt, she was abducted and captured by the Vampires in Danic Castle, one of the most deadly places ever. Layla was abducted as a victim, though their initial motive was using her as a sacrificial lamb, her courage, boldness, and bravery made lord Duncan, the vampire's Lord, change his mind. She was sent on a thirty-day mission to detect the deadly secret that has kept lord Tyrrell, the Alpha of Wolfhaven pack, for over 290 years. Seeing that Layla was a human without a wolf but possessed great powers, She steeled herself and set out for her task before the thirty days elapsed and the wrath of the great lord incurred on her. For Layla's mission to be successful, she has to reincarnate to Alpha Tyrrell's sister who was mated to another Alpha in another pack. This, however, became a smooth operation for Layla to fulfill the mission set before her. All efforts to make Alpha Tyrrell believe that Layla was Mia, his sister proved abortive until he found out the truth about her secret mission. Instead of killing Layla, Alpha Tyrrell turned her to his maid. Along the line, they fell for each other, and just while their love blossomed, she appeared to be Tyrrell's Mate, mated to him by the moon's goodness. What happened to Layla's mission? Will she abort it because of their love? What will also happen when the two worlds, the Vampire and the wolves, cross paths? Will their love still strive amid woes and foes?

Chapter 1 The Sacrifice

In a hall-like room was seen a mighty throne so high and was occupied by a dead-looking young man, handsome though with a terrifying smirk.

Situated around his cabinets, Lord Duncan observed the final meeting regarding the seventh vampire feast of Lutana.

"My lord, the feast has commerce and we are yet to find a wolf for the sacrifice", one vampire spoke with a bow,

"My lord, give us the power to invade the werewolf world and fetch the seventh sacrifice," the second voice also spoke with a bow.

"My lord-"

"Enough!" the supposed lord cuts off the words of the third person.

"We should be discussing more important things now than the sacrifice, "he scoffed without raising his brow.

He has a deep masculine voice which has a way of silencing every other once it arrives.

"But my Lord, what is more important than the sacrifice now?" Asked the first voice though not bold enough.

He shot him a wicked glare, which was replaced by a sarcastic laugh.

"I never knew you could ask that, but I will answer you" The supposed lord raised his face to everyone in his castle

He is the seventh lord that has ruled In Dacin Castle, the world of the vampires. In all the reigns of every other lord in Dacin Castle, he was different, ruling with power, wisdom, and might. No one dares to influence his made-up decision.

Since his reign, the vampires of the Dacin camp have never lacked blood to drink to remain alive. He ensured the blood of his enemies, the werewolves, were used to satisfy the desires of the vampires.

" I am tired of sacrificing mere werewolves. I need the blood of their Alpha, Tyrrell..." Lord Duncan's Murderous eyes flickered around the castle where his vampires said, anticipating the arrival of the next sacrifice for the feast of Lutana, the bronze god of the vampires.

"My Lord, you know how deadly Alpha Tyrrell can be. I don't think we can have him killed" Another vampire protested against Lord Duncan's decision.

" Yes, my Lord. We have been invading the WolfHaven pack for decades with our powerful soldiers. Scott here can testify how the last battle almost claimed our lives. Alpha Tyrrell cannot be killed, my Lord. It can't happen-"

" Quiet everyone!" Lord Duncan yelled in a commanding tone. "I decide who we kill for the feast and who don't kill! And now, I need Alpha Tyrrell's blood!" His eyes turned blood red.

Silence flushed in the air after Lord Duncan dropped a bloodshot on the vampires. They were all waiting for the sacrifice before commencing the feast.

The bronze god, Lutana, stood boldly carved by the side in the middle of the large temple. Its glistening eyes seem full of worries and a thousand questions. It needed blood, too, like the vampires. Why was there not any?

As everywhere became calm, lord Duncan stood up in anger and lifted his hands.

" Scott" he called the leader of the soldiers.

" Yes, my lord" Scott walked out from the mist of the crowd and bowed before Lord Duncan.

Grunting like a fat pig, Lord Duncan replied, " Scott, gather your men and-"

" My lord" A voice interrupted from the crowd and was suddenly accompanied by a piercing cry of a young lady.

Lord Duncan suddenly lifted his gaze and saw a young werewolf being blindfolded and tied in both hands like a sacrificial lamb.

" What is this? Who is she? " Lord Duncan flared with anger in his voice.

The soldiers halted at the spot and laid the vulnerable young lady down before one of them explained.

He bowed." My lord, we met this young woman trending the deadly path of the camp, and we decided to capture her for the seventh sacrifice for Lutana." The soldier grinned. He felt his master would be pleased with the sacrifice.

However, lord Duncan was disappointed at the level of amateurs he had as a soldier. He doesn't know why it was tough for his soldiers to capture Alpha Tyrrell. He needed Alpha's blood.

Without uttering a word to the annoying soldiers, Lord Duncan strode in frustration back to his throne with Scott escorting him behind.

" Untie the sacrifice and set her legs and hands loose" Lord Duncan managed to show calmness. Though he did not accept the mere omega, she was their last hope for the seventh sacrifice.

Shortly, the young lady's eyes were loose; she began to gaze puzzledly around the corner of the castle in fear.

Lord Duncan cast one gaze at her. She was just a perfect beautiful human without flaws.

After gazing uninterruptedly at the frail Young lady, Lord Duncan asked, " You were carelessly walking about in a dreadful place like this? Do you want to die?" He roared at the young lady and she flinched.

Kneeling, the young lady began to cry. She seemed terrified by the evil ambiance of the vampires.

" Please sir, forgive me. I'm just a poor orphan being unfairly treated by her aunt" She begged the lord of the vampire with her two hands clenched in mercy.

An unbashful sneer filled the air as the lady kept begging, and she suddenly became cold, terrified, and diffident.

" Silence! " Lord Duncan stopped the sneer coming from the crowd. He was just about to ask his guards to prepare the lady for sacrifice but suddenly halted.

For ten seconds, he kept glancing at the lady. Every one of the vampires was slowly becoming pissed. They were tasty and needed blood to quench their taste.

" What is your name?" Lord Duncan asked the young lady, shocking everyone as hell.

The vampires opened their mouths full of rotten teeth and glared surprisedly at each other.

"My name is Layla. Yes, Layla M– Mark" the young lady's voice cracked. Everyone could see how she was trembling.

" That sounds good," Lord Duncan grinned, and Scott, the head of the soldiers, interrupted.

" My lord, is everything alright? " He asked but didn't get a response from his master.

While everyone was murmuring concerning the sudden change in lord Duncan's action, he shushed them immediately.

" Quiet!" He commanded and everywhere became calm.

Layla, the young lady, was sobbing uncontrollably. She knows she is about to die and join her parents.

" Please don't kill. I will do anything you want. I can become your slave or even an errand girl. But don't kill me" she kept pleading for her life.

" I need blood. I need blood," One of the men protested from the crowd, and In a matter of time, others joined in the protest, interrupting the peace in the castle.

" Blood! Blood Blood! Give us blood! " The fuss continued.

Provoked at the unnecessary disruption, lord Duncan rose from this throne, threatening to kill everyone if they kept making a fuss.

In a wink of the eyes, everyone pinned their months, afraid of their lives.

" I shall keep Layla for a purpose. And you all better maintain your peace" Lord Duncan bellowed. He hated being controlled by mere vampires.

Layla was still kneeling on the floor. She didn't hear Lord Duncan's first statement correctly. To her, this was happening all in her dreams.

" Layla" Lord called Layla's name.

Fear gripped Layla. Her heart was pounding in speed.

" Yes–yes," she stammered as her legs could not carry her body any longer.

" I shall give you a task. My subjects want your blood but–"

Lord Duncan barely finished before Layla fell flat on the floor.

" I will do anything you want me to do, sir" she begged, with tears in her eyes.

Lord Duncan delayed in giving his final verdict. The vampires were not making matters easy for him either.

" I am going to kill Alpha Tyrrell myself," lord Duncan bragged but didn't get cheered by the crowd. They know lord Duncan can never defeat the great Alpha, who has lived for years and decades without dying.

Rumor has it that Alpha Tyrrell has strong magical powers. From each full moon to the other, when the vampires invade the pack, they end up eliminating every old werewolf, leaving the young ones to grow and give birth to young ones before coming to wipe them off.

However, no matter how victorious the vampires got after killing the older werewolves and drinking their blood, Alpha Tyrrell would always take them by surprise. No matter how hard the vampires tried, they could never defeat Alpha Tyrrell. He has lived many years without getting old and this became a treat to the vampires and their lord.

When Lord Duncan knew he couldn't succeed in killing the great Alpha Tyrrell, he decided to change his tactics.

Maybe if he tried something different, he might get what he wanted.

Looking carefully at Layla, the human, Lord Duncan could see how courageous she was. She was beautiful too.

As Layla continued pleading with Lord Duncan, he finally made up his mind to send Layla to seduce Alpha Tyrrell and bring back his head to Dacin Castle.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

One Night With My Billionaire Boss

I woke up on silk sheets that smelled of expensive cedar and cold sandalwood, a world away from my cramped apartment in Brooklyn. Beside me lay Ezra Gardner—my boss, the billionaire CEO of Gardner Holdings, and the man who could end my career with a snap of his fingers. He didn’t offer an apology for the night before; instead, he looked at me with terrifying clarity and proposed a cold, calculated business arrangement. "Marriage. It stabilizes the board and solves the PR crisis before it begins." He dressed me in archival Chanel and sent me home in his Maybach, but my life was already falling apart. My boyfriend, Irving, claimed he had passed out early, yet his location data placed him at my best friend’s apartment until three in the morning. When I tried to run, I realized Ezra was already ten steps ahead, tracking my movements and uncovering the secret I’d spent twenty years hiding: my connection to the powerful Senator Grimes. I was trapped between a CEO who treated me like a line item on a quarterly report and a boyfriend who had been using me while sleeping with my closest friend. I felt like a pawn in a game I didn't understand, wondering why a man like Ezra would walk up forty flights of stairs on a broken leg just to make sure I was safe. "Showtime, Mrs. Gardner." Standing on the red carpet in a gown that cost more than my life, I watched my cheating ex-boyfriend’s face turn pale as Ezra claimed me in front of the world. I wasn't just an assistant anymore; I was a weapon, and it was time to burn their world down.

I sat on the cold tile floor of our Upper East Side penthouse, staring at the two pink lines until my vision blurred. After ten years of loving Julian Sterling and three years of a hollow marriage, I finally had the one thing that could bridge the distance between us. I was pregnant. But Julian didn't come home with flowers for our anniversary. He tossed a thick manila envelope onto the marble coffee table with a heavy thud. Fiona, the woman he'd truly loved for years, was back in New York, and he told me our "business deal" was officially over. "Sign it," He said, his voice flat and devoid of emotion. He looked at me with the cold detachment of a man selling a piece of unwanted furniture. When I hesitated, he told me to add a zero to the alimony if the money wasn't enough. I realized in that moment that if he knew about the baby, he wouldn't love me; he would simply take my child and give it to Fiona to raise. I shoved the pregnancy test into my pocket, signed the papers with a shaking hand, and lied through my teeth. When my morning sickness hit, I slumped to the floor to hide the truth. "It's just cramps," I gasped, watching him recoil as if I were contagious. To make him stay away, I invented a man named Jack-a fake boyfriend who supposedly gave me the kindness Julian never could. Suddenly, the man who wanted me gone became a monster of possessiveness. He threatened to "bury" a man who didn't exist while leaving me humiliated at his family's dinner to rush to Fiona's side. I was so broken that I even ate a cake I was deathly allergic to, then had to refuse life-saving steroids at the hospital because they would harm the fetus. Julian thinks he's stalling the divorce for two months to protect the family's reputation for his father's Jubilee. He thinks he's keeping his "property" on a short leash until the press dies down. He has no idea I'm using those sixty days to build a fortress for my child. By the time he realizes the truth, I'll be gone, and the Sterling heir will be far beyond his reach.
