One Nightstand With My Boyfriend's Twin Chapter 1 The Truth

Selena's POV

My heart thumps rapidly in my chest when I find out a shocking truth. My boyfriend is a criminal and so is his entire family.

Moments ago

"I want you to meet my family,Selena. I want to make you my woman and you must know every part of me before we do this, I do not want to hide things from you at all. Do you remember what I said the first time you tried to get close to me, Selena." I swallow nervously.

"Yes. You said bright girls like me don't deserve a tiny chance at your dark world."

"Now, I want your brightness to light up my world and expel the darkness in me." The calmness in his eyes did nothing to ease the anxiousness that was threatening to devour me any moment from now.

"Just to be clear Selena, it is still a contract marriage. I'm only doing this because my parents are extremely sensitive. We cannot afford to mess anything up, not now." His eyes search mine for an answer and I do not bother hiding my feelings.

"Is it a must that I attend this?"

"We will eventually see our families sooner or later and as much as I hate to admit it, you will later come in contact with my family. You might as well just agree to meet them now."

"I will pick you up by five in the evening. There'll be red carpet and I want you to make me a grand entry. I want them to know that you're mine and mine alone." He trails his finger down my back and I have to snap my mouth shut to keep myself from moaning.

"Red carpet? Nikolai, what exactly are you up to?" My heart starts hammering in my chest again. Every fibre in my body is fighting hard against this decision. A part of me is so reluctant to go see his family.

"You will know me better by tonight, Sel." He chuckles and lets go of me.

"No matter what happens tonight, remember, I love you, see you tonight." I walk faster home, my mind racing constantly on the thought of the ball. I have nothing appropriate to wear, I live a simple life and and my luxury has never included a ball. I get home and my mind somehow manages to isolate the dress to the event.

"Ding." I nearly throw my phone to the floor when I realize it's a message from Nikolai.

"The things I ordered for you for the ball are outside." I furrow my eyebrows still lost to the thought of all of this. I walk down with my legs slightly trembling as I open the door.

A red box is seated neatly on the floor of my doorstep. I pick up the box and I lock my door.

It feels heavy and I open it immediately destroying the box in the process, white earrings that shine bright with a dazzling necklace and a white gown.

My mouth hangs open as I unwrap the dress. A knock on the door startles me and I forced to leave the dress.

"Hello?" A tall lady stands at the front of my door with a box. Everything about her screams class.

"Miss Selena, Mr Nikolai sent me to you to prepare you for the ball." Slowly, I drift away from the door, wide enough for her to pass.

"I almost did not believe the young master when he asked me to come dress a lady. I was expecting to see a man, everyone thinks he is gay! I can see why now, you'll do." She stares at me with a scrutinizing gaze.

"Sit." She presses me to the chair with my shoulders. I bite down on my lower lip to stop myself from saying anything I'm not supposed to. We do not say a word to each other until she's done!

"Young Master Nikolai would be more than excited!" She claps her hands in air delighted at her masterpiece.

I stare at the mirror in front of me and I am unable to recognize myself. I pay with my fingers as the time draws near.

"He's here. Right on time as expected of him." I square my shoulders and I brace myself for the worst; my mind stays fix on scenerio of a prison break. I struggle to balance myself in the heels, I get better with each step. I pause in my tracks when I see him.

He's wearing a black button up and black slacks. The clothes hug him in the right places and he opens the button at the neck, wide enough for anyone to see his dragon tattoo.

"Mi amor." My mouth breaks into a smile with his greeting.

"You look stunning much more than I expected." My mind screams danger, my soul wants to leave my body and my body wants to be with him.

"Here." He opens the seat and I get in the back.

"Remember Sel, no matter what happens tonight, you remain mine." He interlaces his fingers with mine. The ride is quiet fast or maybe it's because I'm dreading this ball or whatever it is with everything in me.

"Welcome home young master." I am dragged back to reality when I see the huge castle and the amount of humans bowing down to him.

"This.. Is this? Your home?" My breath fastens and its not what I can control.

"No. We'll get there." I place my hands on my chest unable to stop my racing heart.

"Welcome to my World, Mi Sel." The gates in front of us roll open by theirselves.

"Welcome Young Master." A man old enough to birth the both of us bows down to him.

"Young Master Nikolai? I don't understand what's happening." I stare around in a daze. Then it hits me, the dragon tattoo on his neck, they all have it. Some on their wrist, some on their waist but open for everyone to see it.

"Nikolai?" My throat runs dry. The last time I saw a group of people with the same tattoo was when mother and father were brutally murdered right in front of my eyes.

"Sel?" I jolt and my hands tightly grip my dress.

"You're a ma-" The rest of the word hangs in my throat.

"I'm a mafia boss Selina."

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I’ve returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders—the man I was told was a crippled recluse—intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I’d cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent—the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower’s security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy—Archibald’s secret son—wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald’s face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.
