She originally had a fiancé, but she was forcibly taken and possessed by a dangerously handsome mafia king. Even though he was devoted to her, unwavering in his love, spoiling her endlessly, and giving her the utmost indulgence, she still wanted nothing more than to escape... Yet, after she finally fled, she discovered the truth-the fiancé who claimed to love her had long been secretly involved with her best friend, and the family she had always trusted had already fallen into the hands of her scheming stepsister. All her efforts had led to nothing but complete ruin, and she died in utter misery... Upon waking up, she stared at her reflection in the mirror-wild, unkempt hair, bloody tattoos, and a face painted like a ghost. Just one more second of looking at herself burned her eyes. In her past life, she loved another man and tried everything to escape, hating the mafia emperor to the core. Yet in the end, he was the only one who avenged her. Last time, she had been out of her mind-rejecting her breathtakingly powerful husband, only to be betrayed by a scumbag and a deceitful woman, brainwashed by her so-called best friend, and ultimately abandoned by everyone. But this time, no matter how those lurking snakes and cunning devils scheme to push her into divorce-sorry, this lady has finally turned her brain on!

Chapter 1 Rebirth

Ivy opened her eyes.

She was met with a pair of eyes so terrifying that even her soul trembled.

"Ah-"

Her pale fingers instinctively clenched the blanket beneath her.

She was reliving the pain all over again.

Was this hell?

Why was she back here, back at this demon's side, when she had already died?

Out of sheer instinct, she struggled. "Don't touch me!!!"

The man reacted as if she had touched a raw nerve. His bloodthirsty expression darkened instantly, and his cold, thin lips descended upon her with destructive fury, biting down as if he wanted to devour her whole.

Pain shot through Ivy's body, leaving her unable to think. She could only mumble unconsciously, "Why... Why me... Richard... Why does it have to be me..."

"Because it can only be you."

The deep, hoarse voice whispered beside her ear like an unbreakable shackle, binding even her soul.

Hearing the same answer as in her past life, Ivy finally succumbed to the darkness and lost consciousness.

-

When she opened her eyes again, the night had faded into daylight.

The air was filled with the refreshing scent of flowers, and the warm morning sunlight streamed in through the window, bringing a fleeting sense of peace.

But in the next second, Ivy's nerves tensed abruptly.

A suffocating pressure filled the room as the man woke.

An arm tightened around her waist, pulling her into his embrace like a pillow.

"Still trying to run?"

The chilling voice beside her ear sent shivers down her spine.

Driven by survival instinct, Ivy shook her head desperately.

Whether or not the man believed her was unclear, but his sharp gaze lingered on her face for a moment, radiating danger.

Like a fawn caught in a predator's jaws, Ivy dared not move.

She didn't know how long the suffocating silence lasted until, finally, the man let her go.

He got out of bed, the morning light outlining his tall, lean figure and taut waist.

The sight lasted only for a fleeting moment before he picked up his shirt from the bedside, his long fingers buttoning it up meticulously to the very top.

Just moments ago, he had been as ruthless as a beast, yet now, his strikingly handsome face was devoid of warmth, exuding an icy indifference, untouchable and distant.

Only when the door clicked shut behind him did Ivy finally relax the nerves that had been stretched to the breaking point.

At last, she could take a moment to process her situation.

Slowly, she took in the familiar furnishings of the room and the reflection in the vanity mirror across from her-

The girl in the mirror had smudged smoky eye makeup streaked with tears and sweat. Her body was covered in large, bloody, grotesque tattoos.

To escape from Richard, she had once deliberately made herself look as repulsive as possible.

She had... truly been reborn...

A wave of sheer terror and despair nearly suffocated her.

She had returned to the very night she had been punished by Richard for trying to escape!

Why...

Why had she been sent back to seven years ago?!

Even if it meant death, she never wanted to return to this place, to this man.

She had lost her lover, her family, her dignity, her identity-she had lost everything.

Did she really have to suffer through it all again?

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. Mia Meyers was born to rule her father's empire (so she thought), until he named his bastard son heir instead. Stefan Sterling knows the sting of betrayal too. His father discarded him like trash. Now the rivals' disgraced children have a poisonous proposal: Marry for vengeance. Crush their fathers' legacies. Never speak of divorce. Whoever cracks first loses everything. Can these two rivals, united by their vengeful hearts, pull off a marriage of convenience to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs? Or will their fathers' animosity, and their own complicated pasts tear their fragile alliance apart?
