Drawn back to the Lycan King, Lyra realizes that survival demands more than running-it requires a choice, a fight, and the courage to carve out her own fate.

Chapter 1 ~Solene

"An Omega? She is a weak wolf; her identity will ruin our family," -Solene said as she looked uneasy, sweat all over her face as she paced around the room with her hands on her waist.

"I know, Solene. I needed the money and she was worth it." -Nikoilai reacted, showing off a very small bag of coins.

"She is a weakling! A bad luck, an Omega! Why didn't you find out who she was before bringing her into this Pack? Now they members of the pack are looking down on the supposed family she was adopted into. It's a good thing they don't know who she is"

Then she sat down on the soft mattress right opposite them as they stood. She poured in a jug of water into her glass and gulps it, cleaning off her sweaty skin with her cloth. The old lady lays down flat shutting her eyes and exhaling air.

After three seconds, she opened her eyes and called out to Lyra.

"Where is she? Where is that excuse of a wolf?"

On a cold night, the moon was full and the lurking of the wolves could be heard from afar. The thought of anxiousness hit her as her eyes changed its color to gold.

She could feel her senses and her environment.

Then, stepped out from her room and went outside into the cold. But she didn't feel anything; it felt like she was being called from the unknown.

She went into the forests as if she knew her destination.

Then the soft call that woke her up decreased and her eyes changed to its normal color, she stood in fear, and tears rolled up in her eyes. She couldn't believe what she saw; it startled her as she made a move to run.

She woke up from her dream as sweats were filled up on her face with her heart racing most especially because Solene called out to her endlessly.

Then a loud yet rigid echo of her name was heard, she felt the voices that was doors away from her room.

Her heart palpated but not in excitement. She pushed her bed a little to the right and crawled into the big sized hole situated behind her bed stand.

It was her little secret; she closed the hole with her bed-stand and crawled away. As she crawled, a ray of sunlight shone on her face paving her way out and when the others were not looking, she grabbed the wooden buckets and ran off. Lyra was a weak omega yet beautiful, kind and selfless that her heart was so pure.

Her unique nature defined her inner wolf; she lived in the Crimson's pack with her foster family.

With the thought of her starting her life afresh with this new family seemed to have been the worst decision ever, she was maltreated all the time due to her weak nature which protruded as bad luck.

Lyra, being the weakest omega amongst her foster siblings; Emery and Zara was always very kind to them; she tolerated all insults and they despised her. They denied her in public and mistreated her.

Zara envied her the most due to her ravishing and alluring nature and decided to make her life a living hell. Even at the feet of mercy; Solene and Nikolai didn't love her like they did their children.

She had the power to feel, heal and control an element or a person. Even while she had these great powers, the pack viewed her as weak, Hence; bad luck. They hated her so much. She was on her way back when she saw a youngling sitting at the river bank crying.

She dropped her bucket and walked towards the youngling but as soon mason saw her come towards his direction he stopped crying for a second.

Lyra looked into the boy's eyes and caressed his face trying to numb his pain but she suddenly moved away from him and whimpered in fear, it was like a shock that penetrated into her, she was reminded of her dark past; a part of her she didn't want anybody to find out about.

She didn't want to frighten the youngling; she controlled a water bubble that splashed on him, making him chuckle.

At the sound of the big bell, she rushed and left. The big bell was rung whenever the Alpha was coming in for a visit but this time was different, the Alpha wasn't there rather the enforcers were trouping in with a violent rogue wolf. Lyra knew that wolf; she wondered what actually happened.

As she walked covering her face with her scarf, she tried eavesdropping on some people's conversation to find out what would happen to the wolf but instead she bumped into an enforcer; this attracted everyone's attention, at this point she was very scared.

Lyra lowered her gaze from Azura knowing fully well she was an enforcer, she didn't want to any more attraction, she started apologizing to her but Azura walked away reluctantly. This was a big relief on Lyra but it wasn't the end.

She turned around to see who was endlessly calling out her name while she covered her face; it was Solene, already walking towards her and continuously shouting her name; she forgot; she looked like she was about to explode.

As she got closer to Lyra, she removed the scarf and slapped her. The pack who pitied her when Azura was standing in front of her started mocking her and throwing her all sorts of insults.

Solene unveiling Lyra's face exposed that she was the wolf with the bad luck everyone was rumoring about. Lyra cried in pain not knowing which to endure.

That same day, she was starved and locked away in her room. Sometimes her mind would trace back to that awful day, the day her suffering started.

After she was done with Emery's and Zara's laundry, she prepared and served dinner for them while she ate the crumbles.

She couldn't resist the hunger. She laid down on her bed looking at the moon. She remembered Parker; the rogue wolf and the words of some people who discussed about it.

Some said the rogue wolf was to be transferred to the Dunson's pack and would be held hostage, others said he was going to be slaughtered for his crime.

To Lyra, transfer to the Lycan's King of Dunson's pack or being slaughtered was virtually the same thing.

Rumors had it that the Lycan king was ruthless and had no sympathy. His heart was simply black; He would slice a wolf's throat without hesitation just for staring into his eyes. She feared him and despised him, she would never forget what he did to her. It was because of him she was treated like a nobody and hoped to never cross paths.

The next day seemed like a beautiful day because Lyra sworn to not let anything her family do, get to her. She decided to smile and welcome whatever they threw at her, henceforth.

She prepared breakfast and scented very nice and sat by the corner watching them. As she sat looking at how happy her foster family treated her without any remorse, she was reminded of the last brutal maltreatment she got from them.

When the sun had set and everyone had started their day, she was alone at home as usual trying to put the house in order.

She heard a loud knock from the door, it was frightening but she was ready to transform if need be. She mustered all the bravery she could and opened the door; it was Nikoilai drunk to stupor but somehow he could hold himself.

She wasn't expecting him at that time, she offered him a glass of water like he instructed and headed to her room. After five minutes, she heard a loud bang on her door, Nikoilai forcefully dragged her to the bed, Lyra screamed for help but no help came, she continuously begged him and cried that she was just a child but he didn't listen, he forcefully raped her taking her precious virginity away from her and beating her till she couldn't get up.

And what broke her was the fact she explained everything to Solene but all cries fell on deaf ears. She was sad knowing her life would be like this forever until when Nikoilai finally called her to the living room joilting her out of her thoughts

Nikoilai began by encouraging her hard work and telling her how good she was as a daughter, he went further to remind her how he picked her up from a collapsing country and brought her into his home, that alone ached her heart but she still smiled at her him. Then, he said to her

"I need money, the Lycan king of Dunson's Pack has requested for someone to bear him a child and seeing you are a good fit though not quite the fortune I desire, you would reach the worth so pack your things and get ready we leave by dusk."

This statement pierced her heart, the same king who she despises, tears rolled down her cheeks while she begged. When she realized her cries fell on deaf ears, she ran into her room and locked it.

In haste; she gathered her things into a bag, wiped her tears and pushed her bed stand and crawled into the hole. She was able to escape but hid away from some men who she saw talking with her father, she suspected they were from Dunson's pack.

As she ran, she felt the ache in her chest, sweats all over her skin, her feet was red. She sat close to a dam and reached out for water to drink. And suddenly; a loud hit on her head was heard, she staggered turning around to see who it was and there, her eyes widened with fear and a glimpse of surprise, then she fell to the ground.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. Mia Meyers was born to rule her father's empire (so she thought), until he named his bastard son heir instead. Stefan Sterling knows the sting of betrayal too. His father discarded him like trash. Now the rivals' disgraced children have a poisonous proposal: Marry for vengeance. Crush their fathers' legacies. Never speak of divorce. Whoever cracks first loses everything. Can these two rivals, united by their vengeful hearts, pull off a marriage of convenience to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs? Or will their fathers' animosity, and their own complicated pasts tear their fragile alliance apart?

For four years, I traced the bullet scar on Chace’s chest, believing it was proof he would bleed to keep me safe. On our anniversary, he told me to wear white because "tonight changes everything." I walked into the gala thinking I was getting a ring. Instead, I stood frozen in the center of the ballroom, drowning in silk, watching him slide his mother's sapphire onto another woman's finger. Karyn Warren. The daughter of a rival family. When I begged him with my eyes to claim me, to save me from the public humiliation, he didn't flinch. He just leaned toward his Underboss, his voice amplified by the silence. "Karyn is for power. Ember is for pleasure. Don't confuse the assets." My heart didn't just break; it incinerated. He expected me to stay as his mistress, threatening to dig up my dead mother’s grave if I refused to play the obedient pet. He thought I was trapped. He thought I had nowhere to go because of my father’s massive gambling debts. He was wrong. With shaking hands, I pulled out my phone and texted the one name I was never supposed to use. Keith Mosley. The Don. The monster under Chace's bed. *I am invoking the Blood Oath. My father’s debt. I am ready to pay it.* His reply came three seconds later, buzzing against my palm like a warning. *The price is marriage. You belong to me. Yes or No?* I looked up at Chace, who was laughing with his new fiancée, thinking he owned me. I looked down and typed three letters. *Yes.*
