The story follows Damian, a young man who achieves success early in life and decides to marry a girl from his village, believing that a simple and honest life would bring him happiness. However, his life takes a tragic turn when his wife, Diana, is seduced by the power and wealth of the President, who sponsors her education in the UK. As Diana's feelings for Damian fade, she enters into a secret affair with the President, eventually plotting to remove Damian from her life so she can marry the President. Damian's life unravels as he confronts the painful betrayal, and he must cope with the consequences of his choices, including his eventual heartbreak and loss of everything he held dear.

Chapter 1 THE BEAUTY OF DIANA

Damian, a tall, well-dressed gentleman in his early thirties, found himself on the road back to his hometown, nestled in the rolling hills of the village. The sun hung low in the sky, casting an orange hue over the quiet streets. He had spent the last few years immersed in the bustle of the city, running his late father's business empire. The world around him was full of flashing lights, fast cars, and women who wore more makeup than they did personality. His life felt empty, the echo of his mother's dying wish resonating in his mind: "Marry a girl from the countryside, Damian.

Find someone pure, someone who hasn't been tainted by the city."

It had been far too long since he'd visited his grandfather, and this trip was just as much about reconnecting with family as it was about fulfilling that promise. Damian longed for a simpler life, a life with someone who understood him, not one built on appearances and pretense.

The country air welcomed him as he approached the familiar town just one stop before his final destination. As he slowly drove through the village, something caught his eye-a vision of grace walking down the dirt road. A woman. No, not just any woman-her. She was walking towards the local shop, and with every step, the wind seemed to catch the long strands of her hair, creating a halo effect around her. She was barefoot, her simple dress flowing in the breeze, with a natural beauty that made the other women he'd encountered seem almost... artificial.

Her face was delicate, with clear skin, soft eyes, and a smile that seemed reserved for those rare moments when something pure and real touched her heart. There was something unpretentious about her that instantly captivated him. She was the epitome of the woman he'd imagined marrying-graceful, modest, and untouched by the superficiality of city life.

Unable to resist, Damian rolled down the window of his sleek car and called out, "Excuse me, miss!"

She didn't respond immediately, continuing her walk towards the shop, her focus on the task at hand. Damian, intrigued by her beauty and unwilling to let this chance slip away, parked his car and stepped out. As he approached, he noticed the small boys sitting outside the shop, giggling and whispering to each other.

"She's shy," he whispered to himself with a smile. "That's why I like village girls."

He quickly walked towards the boys. "Hey, do you know who that girl is?" he asked, trying to hide the excitement in his voice.

One of the boys, a cheeky grin on his face, pointed towards the shop. "That's Diana," he said. "Her father's Mr. Albert, our headmaster."

Damian's curiosity piqued. "Diana? Do you know where she lives?"

"She lives just up the hill, by the old church," another boy added.

Damian, feeling grateful, pulled a bill from his pocket and handed it to the boys. "Thanks for the help," he said before returning to his car, his thoughts already spinning.

He continued his journey to his grandfather's house, but his mind kept drifting back to Diana. Diana. A name he would not forget.

Later that evening, when he arrived at his grandfather's house, he was warmly greeted by the older man and his cousins, who were eager to catch up. After a hearty dinner, the family sat around in the living room, reminiscing about old times. But it was his grandfather's words that caught Damian off guard.

"You know, Damian," Mr. Rogers said with a chuckle, "your parents died without ever seeing you married. Don't you want me to see your wife before I go?"

Damian smiled, a bit sheepish. "Well, actually, Grandfather, that's why I'm here." He paused, his voice serious. "I need your help to find me a wife from this village. I'm done with the city, and I want to marry a girl from here. I promised my mother I would."

Mr. Rogers raised an eyebrow. "Really? I never thought I'd hear those words from you, Damian."

"I've already found the one I want to marry," Damian said with a grin. "Her name is Diana."

His grandfather's face lit up with recognition. "Diana? I know her well. Her father, Mr. Albert, is an old friend of mine. I can help you with this, Damian."

The next morning, Mr. Rogers sent three of the village's elders to Mr. Albert's house to formally ask for permission for Damian to marry his daughter. By evening, they returned with good news: Mr. Albert had agreed.

Damian couldn't wait to meet Diana again, and the following day, he made his way to her home with his cousins. They were warmly welcomed, and food and drinks were prepared in their honor. As the evening wore on, Mr. Albert and Damian shared old stories of when Damian was young, recalling how he had once attended school with his late father. But Damian's eyes were fixed on the door, waiting for Diana to appear.

When she finally walked into the room, Damian's heart skipped a beat. She was even more breathtaking than he remembered. Her beauty was simple, yet striking. It wasn't just her physical appearance, but the way she carried herself-gracious, humble, and undeniably pure.

He couldn't resist. "Diana," he said, his voice full of admiration, "you are so beautiful. You resemble an angel. I can't wait to marry you. You'd win Miss World without even trying."

She blushed, looking down, clearly shy and a bit overwhelmed. "Stop joking," she said softly, but there was a hint of a smile on her lips.

Damian didn't care if she thought he was joking. He was serious, and nothing was going to stop him from marrying her.

That evening, after the visit to Mr. Albert's house, Damian returned to his grandfather's home with a new sense of purpose. The wedding preparations began immediately, and while it would be a simple affair in the village, Damian promised to hold a grand celebration once they were back in the city.

He couldn't wait to show the world the woman he was about to marry. But little did he know, this was only the beginning of a story that would lead him down a path he hadn't anticipated-one filled with power, desire,a love and even that would soon be tested in ways he could never have imagined. This step he was like a step towards his death, he never thought it will lead him to a suffering.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

I sat on the cold tile floor of our Upper East Side penthouse, staring at the two pink lines until my vision blurred. After ten years of loving Julian Sterling and three years of a hollow marriage, I finally had the one thing that could bridge the distance between us. I was pregnant. But Julian didn't come home with flowers for our anniversary. He tossed a thick manila envelope onto the marble coffee table with a heavy thud. Fiona, the woman he'd truly loved for years, was back in New York, and he told me our "business deal" was officially over. "Sign it," He said, his voice flat and devoid of emotion. He looked at me with the cold detachment of a man selling a piece of unwanted furniture. When I hesitated, he told me to add a zero to the alimony if the money wasn't enough. I realized in that moment that if he knew about the baby, he wouldn't love me; he would simply take my child and give it to Fiona to raise. I shoved the pregnancy test into my pocket, signed the papers with a shaking hand, and lied through my teeth. When my morning sickness hit, I slumped to the floor to hide the truth. "It's just cramps," I gasped, watching him recoil as if I were contagious. To make him stay away, I invented a man named Jack-a fake boyfriend who supposedly gave me the kindness Julian never could. Suddenly, the man who wanted me gone became a monster of possessiveness. He threatened to "bury" a man who didn't exist while leaving me humiliated at his family's dinner to rush to Fiona's side. I was so broken that I even ate a cake I was deathly allergic to, then had to refuse life-saving steroids at the hospital because they would harm the fetus. Julian thinks he's stalling the divorce for two months to protect the family's reputation for his father's Jubilee. He thinks he's keeping his "property" on a short leash until the press dies down. He has no idea I'm using those sixty days to build a fortress for my child. By the time he realizes the truth, I'll be gone, and the Sterling heir will be far beyond his reach.

For four years, I traced the bullet scar on Chace’s chest, believing it was proof he would bleed to keep me safe. On our anniversary, he told me to wear white because "tonight changes everything." I walked into the gala thinking I was getting a ring. Instead, I stood frozen in the center of the ballroom, drowning in silk, watching him slide his mother's sapphire onto another woman's finger. Karyn Warren. The daughter of a rival family. When I begged him with my eyes to claim me, to save me from the public humiliation, he didn't flinch. He just leaned toward his Underboss, his voice amplified by the silence. "Karyn is for power. Ember is for pleasure. Don't confuse the assets." My heart didn't just break; it incinerated. He expected me to stay as his mistress, threatening to dig up my dead mother’s grave if I refused to play the obedient pet. He thought I was trapped. He thought I had nowhere to go because of my father’s massive gambling debts. He was wrong. With shaking hands, I pulled out my phone and texted the one name I was never supposed to use. Keith Mosley. The Don. The monster under Chace's bed. *I am invoking the Blood Oath. My father’s debt. I am ready to pay it.* His reply came three seconds later, buzzing against my palm like a warning. *The price is marriage. You belong to me. Yes or No?* I looked up at Chace, who was laughing with his new fiancée, thinking he owned me. I looked down and typed three letters. *Yes.*
