"And when at night, those tiny sobs ran into full-blown tears, that was when I knew that whatever we had was gone" ******************** All her life, if Tiara had been asked what she wanted in life, she would have given just one answer, which was to be in Bernard's arms, be his Luna, and birth his kids but all of that turned into a messy dream on that fateful night where she lost it all. Embroiled with nothing else but revenge in her mind, the last person she imagined would assist her was the lycan king. He needed her just like he needed air, and she wanted him because she wanted to exert revenge on those who had hurt her, but nothing had prepared her for the secret he held back. The one that broke her further into smithereens, with an age-long secret dangling at her face and both mates wanting her back, what path is she going to take when she is tossed in between betrayal, heartbreak, and a second chance?

Claimed by the ruthless lycan king. Chapter 1 Betrayal

Tiara's POV

" Do you, Alpha Bernard, take Zara as your Luna and mate? To uphold and to hold in holy matrimony?"

My hands clenched on the gown I had on, tears welled up in my eyes threatening to spill as they fixated on him.

Everything screamed in me to speak up, to let everyone know that I was against the marriage happening right now but my world crashed at the next word that was uttered.

" I do," Bernard uttered with a smile so wide on his face that tears stung my eyes.

Mustering up the strength, my feet padded across the huge room back to the cab waiting for me.

" Take me back" I said in a whisper, unable to recognize my voice.

Staring blankly, fond memories sipped in of I and Bernard which had just about turned out to all be lies, I tried to swallow the lump stuck in my throat, but it seemed rather persistent.

" Thank you" A smile graced my face at the cab driver who nodded at me, not before giving me a sympathetic look as I sauntered over to the trailer in the pack where our love story had begun.

My legs found their way to the kitchen, needles jabbed my heart endlessly as I picked up the celery, slicing through when barely minutes after, the door was yanked open and my body collided against the warmth of another.

With nose nuzzled against my neck and breath fanning my ears, he said in a whisper." I have missed you so much, Tiara, what is for dinner?"

" Where were you?" My hands clenched tight around the knife, squeezing my eyes before flickering them right open.

" Work was so hectic, but I am done, and I am here with you now. What do you want me to do? Assist you with the veggies? I can do that, also...we can watch that series that you have wanted all this while" he suggested.

A peal of laughter erupted through my throat as I placed the knife by the side, my eyes pivoting round until they were staring at him.

" You were at work? Bernard, are you going to do this? Right now?" My voice came out in broken shells.

He looked stunned, his eyes morphed into shock when he saw the tears I was trying to hold back.

" I was at work, what are you talking about? That is where I am always and...."

" Oh, please stop it!" I was tired of this charade he was putting up, how he was acting as if he had done nothing.

Slipping my hands into my pocket, I drifted the card at him.

" That is where you have been all day! While I stayed back at home, washing your clothes, making sure you had something to eat when you are back, you were out there getting married to my sister, of all people, how could you get married to my sister?" I raged as the crystal I held in, snaked down my porcelain face.

The sizzling of the pot rang across the air telling me they needed my attention, but I was done being the housewife he wanted.

" Tiara..." he held a hand out, racking a hand through his hair. "I can explain what it is, I didn't do this on purpose. I mean come on, you know I love you and...."

My fingers poked him on his chest, with my eyes glaring daggers as I wished that he would be hurt just like I was.

" You don't tell me you love me when you got married to someone else already! I dedicated my life to you, I did whatever you wanted me to and this is how you repay me? You should have done better. You owed me that"

" I owe you nothing!" He retaliated, my eyes widened at his words.

" I gave you a home, you had recognition because of me, everyone knew you because of me.... Oh, the alpha is dating that poor lowly omega, he is such a sweet man. That was all because of me and you knew it"

A chuckle of laughter escaped my throat, my heart slammed so hard against its rib cage that I couldn't breathe for a second.

Everything in spirals as my world darkened. I had loved him even more than I had loved myself. I had felt the bond, the pain with him, I was there when everyone didn't want him and now....

"And then you had to do that with my sister? Why wasn't I ever enough?" I muttered out.

" She is better in every way that you would ever be. You did your part and she did hers. You were never supposed to find out, if you weren't nosy, you wouldn't have known about this." He exhaled.

"We would have still been the same sweet couple everyone knew" he squeezed the paper into a ball, advancing further.

My wolf writhed in pain, snarling and growling at the betrayal, but there was nothing that could be done. Fisting my palm, I glared at him, watching as he halted in his footsteps.

With determination coating my tone, I said. " I don't want you anymore. I am renouncing our bond, from today onwards, we have nothing together"

My stomach twisted as air knocked off me. I couldn't think anymore, with reddened eyes, I tried to walk past when he held my wrist.

"You can't go.... Tiara...you can't...no one will love you as you are, no one will desire you as you are. I will take you as my mistress, stay back and be my mistress....just don't...don't go"

My feet halted, transfixed to the spot as I shook my head, trying not to succumb to his request, wriggling his hands off, I sneered at his words.

"You may find me undesirable, but that doesn't mean other men look at me the same way"

I picked up the pace, his growling voice behind me faded as I ran down the pavement, crashing into a nearby bar.

" A gin and tonic please" I placed a dollar bill on the table.

I had made a resolve to get wasted but when the alcohol hit the right spot, all I was instead, was a crying mess.

A gentle voice pierced through my reverie, jolting me out of it as I sniffed in, flicking my head around, my eyes met with honey brown orbs that seared into me.

I was lost in them for a minute, before staring elsewhere. Tossing his glass at me, he winked. "You look like you need company" his tone made my head muddled.

My stomach reeled in, heat pooled between my legs as a sandalwood scent drifted into my nostrils, awakening and intoxicating all of my senses.

" What gave it away?" I questioned, a gentle smile tugging at my lips, trying to look beyond the fact that I was soaked in-between my legs already.

His lips curved into a smile. "Your eyes, has anyone told you how easy it would be reading you?"

I shrugged, trying so hard to get rid of him until the music came up. A smile hinged at the edge of my lips as I nodded to it, memories of I and Bernard waltzing to it came on.

"You like it?" I bobbed my head.

"Then dance with me," he had a hand stretched out, waiting for me to take it.

" I am drunk, I can't" I waved him off when he insisted.

" If things doesn't go the way they should, I am surely going to take care of you, you don't have to worry about that. Just trust me"

My teeth dug gently into my lips, before accepting his hands. " One dance and I am done"

I tried to fend off the sizzling attraction I felt to him but when my hands leaned on his shoulders, his orbs locked on mine, I let him sway me away into the night, letting myself go.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

REGINA MCBRIDE

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.
