It was the birthday of Alpha, Marc Dale, that day. At the birthday party, he brought back a woman, Lucy Burton. She had been his mate before and had completely abandoned him. Marc then gave me everything I wanted while torturing her mercilessly. He had even thrown her into a cellar. Yet, on our anniversary, I saw him in the room. He was holding Lucy and marking her. "You didn't expect to fall for me again, did you? What if your luna finds out?" she said. Marc said, "I'm doing this to punish you." Lucy chuckled softly and turned to look at me standing outside the door. "How does it feel to see him having sex with you?" she silently mouthed to me. She even raised her hand complacently. She wore a wedding ring that was the same as mine. In that instant, my wolf howled in agony again, and the pain spread through my body. "Lucy, who are you talking to?"

Chapter 1

It was the birthday of Alpha, Marc Dale, that day. At the birthday party, he brought back a woman, Lucy Burton.

She had been his mate before and had completely abandoned him.

Marc then gave me everything I wanted while torturing her mercilessly. He had even thrown her into a cellar.

Yet, on our anniversary, I saw him in the room.

He was holding Lucy and marking her.

"You didn't expect to fall for me again, did you? What if your luna finds out?" she said.

Marc said, "I'm doing this to punish you."

Lucy chuckled softly and turned to look at me standing outside the door.

"How does it feel to see him having sex with you?" she silently mouthed to me.

She even raised her hand complacently.

She wore a wedding ring that was the same as mine.

In that instant, my wolf howled in agony again, and the pain spread through my body.

"Lucy, who are you talking to?" Marc asked.

"My dear Alpha, you're punishing me. How could I be distracted?" Lucy laughed and wrapped her arms around Marc's neck. "You're doing me so well, Marc. I want to leave my scent here."

Marc paused for a second before quickening his moves. "I'm punishing you. What are you doing? You disgust me with your shamelessness! Apologize to my luna."

Lucy met my gaze again, and her eyes gleamed with triumph. "Mm! Okay! Sorry, Mrs. Dale, I shouldn't have had sex with your husband. He is really amazing in bed. It's so satisfying!"

I couldn't help but take a few steps back. The pain exploded inside me and caused me to collapse to the ground.

Three years ago, after I formed a bond with Marc. Then my wolf was unable to communicate with me. She could only howl in pain.

I was in great pain at any time.

I broke down in tears, and Marc was extremely anxious.

A few months later, he brought me a potion and told me that it was made by the witch and that I would feel better after I took it.

For three years, I relied on the potion to have a peaceful life.

But it was our anniversary that day.

I was eager to prepare a surprise for Marc, so I forgot to take the potion.

I never expected to witness such a scene.

Now I realized that Marc had cheated me and that explained why my wolf cried and why I felt pain.

Bearing unbearable pain, I took the potion Marc gave me and went to the hospital.

The doctor looked at me with sympathy. "This is a potion to block the mind connection. Once you have it, your wolf won't feel your mate's betrayal, so you won't feel any pain."

Now the truth was exposed.

I smiled bitterly. "So I've been feeling pain every day because my alpha was having sex with his mistress every day. Right?" I asked.

The doctor frowned and said, "You are right." After a moment of hesitation, he added, "Moreover, your wolf isn't injured. Someone has cast a spell to silence your inner wolf."

So I was cursed.

Marc cursed my wolf to prevent me from discovering his infidelity.

I sat in the chair, and my gaze was blank. "Why would he do this to me?"

I was Marc's second mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess at the bonding ceremony of Marc and Lucy.

At that moment, he stood blankly on stage, and I stepped forward to save him.

"Since the Moon Goddess has chosen me, then marry me," I said.

Later, Marc told me I was his salvation.

He had completely fallen in love with me.

After our wedding, Marc's friends often mentioned his mate who ran away at the wedding.

It was said that she went to another powerful pack on the bonding day and formed a mate bond with the alpha there.

She even left Marc with a message. "You are the weakest one among the Alphas. How can you deserve me?"

Marc transformed instantly after he heard that sentence.

At the moment of our bonding, he became King of Lycan.

"You always bring me luck, Emilee," he often said.

Everyone believed that Marc loved me deeply, and I thought so too.

But my happiness didn't last long.

A few months later, at Marc's birthday party, he brought back an Omega. "I've conquered their pack as my birthday gift. This woman abandoned me at the bonding ceremony, and now I've killed her husband. Let the celebration begin."

As soon as Marc finished speaking, everyone at the party started moving.

Lucy's white dress was splashed with wine, and someone stepped forward to tear her clothes apart.

Yet, in that moment, Marc pulled her into his arms protectively. "She will be my slave from now on. Lock her in the cellar now."

Marc often told me how much he hated Lucy while sleeping with me, but I saw his lingering affection and longing for her in his eyes.

He still had feelings for Lucy, though he wouldn't admit it.

After that, he tortured Lucy relentlessly.

He made her kneel beside us when he and I had sex to show submission.

He forced her to clean the room while being violated by other wolves.

He even had Lucy wash my clothes by hand when I was pregnant.

Lucy resisted every time, and Marc would drag her into a small room and punish her fiercely.

Everyone could hear Lucy's cries of anguish.

But not long ago, they accidentally pushed me down the stairs during their fight.

The baby I had longed for was lost.

Marc didn't comfort me. Instead, he took Lucy, who was nearly naked, into the small room again.

After he got out, he only said to me, "I've already punished her for you."

I watched his leaving figure and silently clutched my coat.

Because I had taken the potion, my body felt no pain, but I still sensed something was wrong.

After the miscarriage, I asked Marc repeatedly if he wanted another baby, but he refused me every time. "You are in poor health. It will harm you to carry a baby."

But I knew he wanted me to give birth to a baby for him.

I found a photo of Lucy in his clothes.

There was a handwritten note on the back. "I want to have a baby with you."

-

I had deceived myself, believing Marc did everything merely to get revenge on Lucy.

But now I had to face the harsh truth that Marc still loved Lucy.

He even cursed my wolf to facilitate his affair.

I stood at the edge of the freezing pond on the Boone estate, my body trembling with a fear that rattled my bones. Across from me, Amanda Olsen looked immaculate in her cashmere coat, a sharp contrast to the jagged reality I was trying to hold together. "Why?" I whispered. Amanda just smiled, admitting she killed Grandpa Boone because he actually liked me. She pulled out a thick envelope-divorce papers Cordero had signed that morning. She told me he called me a parasite and was celebrating with her the night I suffered a miscarriage. Before I could even scream, Amanda lunged and shoved me into the icy water. My heavy wool coat acted like a sponge, dragging me into the artificial abyss. I thrashed and gasped for air, but Amanda just stood on the bank, watching me drown with her hands tucked casually in her pockets. As my lungs burned and the darkness closed in, I realized I had spent my entire marriage taking their abuse. I was the "foster trash" and the "gold digger" who let them win every single time. I was dying alone, hated by the husband I had tried so hard to love, while my murderer stood victorious on the shore. I never fought back. I just let them destroy me. Then, a violent spasm tore through my body. I sat up gasping, sucking in dry, air-conditioned oxygen instead of murky pond water. I wasn't dead. I was back in the opulent master suite, surrounded by red rose petals and wedding decorations. The digital clock glowed: October 14, 2019. I had gone back five years to the very night my nightmare began. The bathroom door clicked open, and Cordero stepped out, looking at me with the same cold disgust I remembered. But as I gripped the silk sheets, a new resolve hardened in my chest. This time, I wasn't going to be the victim. This time, the Boone family was going to find out exactly what happens when you push someone too far.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I had been a wife for exactly six hours when I woke up to the sound of my husband’s heavy breathing. In the dim moonlight of our bridal suite, I watched Hardin, the man I had adored for years, intertwined with my sister Carissa on the chaise lounge. The betrayal didn't come with an apology. Hardin stood up, unashamed, and sneered at me. "You're awake? Get out, you frumpy mute." Carissa huddled under a throw, her fake tears already welling up as she played the victim. They didn't just want me gone; they wanted me erased to protect their reputations. When I refused to move, my world collapsed. My father didn't offer a shoulder to cry on; he threatened to have me committed to a mental asylum to save his business merger. "You're a disgrace," he bellowed, while the guards stood ready to drag me away. They had spent my life treating me like a stuttering, submissive pawn, and now they were done with me. I felt a blinding pain in my skull, a fracture that should have broken me. But instead of tears, something dormant and lethal flickered to life. The terrified girl who walked down the aisle earlier that day simply ceased to exist. In her place, a clinical system—the Valkyrie Protocol—booted up. My racing heart plummeted to a steady sixty beats per minute. I didn't scream. I stood up, my spine straightening for the first time in twenty years, and looked at Hardin with the detachment of a surgeon looking at a tumor. "Correction," I said, my voice stripped of its stutter. "You're in my light." By dawn, I had drained my father's accounts, vanished into a storm, and found a bleeding Crown Prince in a hidden safehouse. They thought they had broken a mute girl. They didn't realize they had just activated their own destruction.
