lena's heart raced as she struggled to maintain her composure. "I had no choice. I can't let my baby be a part of your world. It's too dangerous." Alex's expression softened for a moment, a flicke

er baby. Hours later, she woke up in a hospital bed, the room quiet and dimly lit. She felt groggy and disoriented, but the pain had subsided. A doctor was standing next to her bed, a reassuring smile on his face. "You're going to be okay, Elena," he said gently. "It was a false alarm. Just some stress-related contractions. You need to take it easy from now on." Elena nodded, relief washing over her. She had been so scared, but her baby was okay. That was all that mattered. As she lay there, exhausted but grateful, she couldn't help but think about Alex. He was a dangerous man, but he was also the father of her child. She didn't know what the future held, but she knew she had to find a way to protect her baby, no matter what. The next morning, Elena was discharged from the hospital with strict instructions to rest and avoid stress. She knew that would be nearly impossible with Alex looming over her, but she had to try. She had to find a way to keep her baby safe. When she returned to her apartment, she found Marco waiting for her. He was leaning against his car, his expression unreadable. "We need to talk," he said as she approached. Elena sighed, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over her. "I don't have anything to say to you. Or to Alex." Marco shook his head. "This isn't about Alex. It's about you and your baby. You need to understand what you're up against." She crossed her arms, trying to appear stronger than she felt. "I know what I'm up against. That's why I left." "You think you're safe here?" Marco asked, his voice gentle but firm. "You're not. Alex isn't the only one looking for you. There are others-people who would use you to get to him. You and your baby are in danger." Elena felt a cold chill run down her spine. "What do you suggest I do?" "Come back with me," Marco said. "Let us protect you. I know you don't trust Alex, but he's the best chance you have." She shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. "I can't. I don't want my child to grow up in that world." Marco sighed, his expression softening. "I understand. But you need to think about what's best for your baby. Alex can keep you safe. Let him." Elena looked down, her mind racing. She hated the idea of going back, but Marco was right. She couldn't protect her baby on her own. She needed help. "Okay," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll go back. But only for the baby." Marco nodded. "I'll arrange everything. We'll leave tonight." As she packed her things, Elena couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. She was walking back into a world she had tried so hard to escape. But she had no choice. She had to protect her baby, no matter what. That evening, Marco escorted Elena to a sleek black car waiting out
