. Marrying a handsome multi-billionaire, Teddy Douglas, Lucia was blissfully overjoyed since fate would bring them together. She has been having feelings for him right from school days, but couldn't go closer to him because he is a woman-hater, doesn't attend to anyone, and his introverted nature also makes him less interactive. Their mutinous relationship takes an unexpected turn when, surprisingly, a few hours after their wedding, he tells her to stay far from him and not to disturb him for anything. She got so frightened hearing that. She is an extrovert, and coping with him is an issue. Surprisingly, one day, Teddy came back drunk, slept with her, and she conceived, unknown to them, which he frowned at and even threatened to kill her if she told anyone that he slept with her. Will the dangers of their past tear them apart forever, or will he ever change his mind since he doesn't take back his words?

Lucia's Dilemma with Billionaire Husband Chapter 1 Lucia's Under Pressure

SECOND PERSON POV

Lucia's phone couldn't stop ringing since her mother refused to stop calling. Picking up her call wasn't an issue for her, but what she could voice out at that moment kept Lucia troubled.

She knows her mother as one who doesn't give up so easily. As beautiful as she is, Lucia hasn't tied the knot yet and that makes her parents worried. She's gradually aging.

''I have repeatedly told my mother to stop distracting me while at work, but she wouldn't listen.''

Raising the phone to see who was calling after a long stay with her laptop working, Lucia saw that a servicing company had sent a proposal to be calling through her personal line.

''I am sorry, sir, I wasn't closer to my phone to pick up your call.'' Lucia apologized as the company manager picked up.

''This attitude of yours will never be tolerated anymore.'' He hung up the phone as he spoke angrily.

She had already had a really stressful day at the office and is definitely not ready to listen to her mother's complaints about her not being married.

Her mother called twice before the company started calling. Her relationship with the manager made him call her direct line rather than the company's.

Her worry increased following the manager's statement on the phone. Going to see him or her mother at home became a difficult choice to make.

"She called back to Mr. Larry to ask for mercy. "Please sir, I will be on my way shortly.

She loves her job so much that she could ignore any other thing to ensure the company is not found wanting.

She picked up her car keys and bag and adjusted her clothes to meet with Mr. Larry in his office.

For her mother, she could go anytime to see her. Lucia has been lodged in one of the hotels in town to cool off her head.

The pressure coming from her family over the issue of marriage kept her away.

Many guys have been coming, wishing to have her as a wife, promising a lot of things to her but she kept turning them down.

Larry is among those who approached her, but she turned him down.

They have been in business for a while, and she doesn't want to join the business for pleasure.

She is a very disciplined lady, so focused and knows what she wants. Convincing her takes some time.

She drove off at speed. Although she's a woman, she runs very fast, particularly when she wants to get something done.

"Larry must be angry at me, I can't afford to lose that contract for no reason. I must have it."

She was having those thoughts and kept spreading. It will take five kilometers to get to Larry's office.

As soon as she got closer, she started slowing down. Moved the car closer to the gate and started honking like a crowd was after her

"Get the gate open very fast."

She scolded the gatekeeper who hurriedly opened the gate.

She packed her car in the parking space and moved fast to Larry's office.

Some of the staff were greeting her while she was responding with a wave of her hand.

"Mr. Larry isn't in the office; he is having a meeting in the boardroom." Larry's secretary stated.

"How long will the meeting be, is it with a different company?"

She was scared that they came in response to what she came for but the secretary couldn't give an answer to that

"I wouldn't know madam, though I haven't seen such a group before. Mr. Larry will be in a better position to explain."

She said as she sat down to continue what she was doing.

Lucia wasn't at rest. She would be very angry if Larry failed her. She drove for five kilometers to come over for the purpose of the contract.

Ignoring her mother was another thing that bothered her. She felt she had offended her mother.

Yes, she doesn't want anyone to worry about her marriage, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't find time to see her mother.

She had no option but to wait for Larry. His lines were off. She did some sms but they didn't deliver.

"Can I go to his office and wait for him?" Lucy asked Larry's secretary.

"He locked his office. I don't have their keys."

A response that triggered her more. She doesn't like to stay at the secretary's office while waiting for Larry whenever she comes.

Everyone in Larry's company is aware of that. Staying there for a period she wouldn't know is a challenge to her.

Going to the reception will be the worst. She has no option. She has to wait. Whenever Larry isn't around, she stays in his office because it is very unique like her own.

In a few minutes, a man came out of the boardroom, and she stared at him but couldn't catch his face.

He dropped a file on the secretary's table. We need this in five minutes. "Type and print them out, is urgent."

When Lucia had five minutes, she quickly wrote a note, went closer to the man. "Please help me and give this to Mr. Larry."

The man collected the note, nodded his head, and left.

Being a smart girl, she pursues the documents the man dropped on the table, which weren't related to the contract she came to sign.

Though her mind wasn't still at peace, it could be for another contract that Larry didn't tell her about. She went back to her seat.

Two messages came to her phone, and she felt it was Larry because he must have gotten her note. She opened them, but none came from him.

A young man of average height walked closer to her. "I guess you recognize me as Miss Harcourt?"

Stretching his hand for a shake, Lucia looks up and shakes her head. "I do not know you, I can't remember."

She refused to shake him and told him to stop blocking her view

Immediately, Larry came out, and Lucia followed him. He opened his office, removed the key. "Stay off." He told Lucia, shot the door as he went in

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ "I want to get a divorce, Mark," I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time-even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."
