The Supreme Alpha's Defiant Wolfless Luna

Carleigh POV:

The silver powder embedded in the iron bars was corroding my skin, but I refused to give the guards any satisfaction. Three days ago, my father, Clemens Payne, had thrown me into the Silver Crown clan's dungeon, accusing me of almost causing the miscarriage of my unborn sibling. In their eyes, I was nothing more than a worthless, "wolf-less" waste .

They thought this cage would break me. They had no idea I was only biding my time.

Heavy combat boots clicked rhythmically against the stone corridor. The stench of damp rot and silver was abruptly obliterated by an overwhelming scent-pure, arctic frost fused with dark cedar, radiating the suffocating pressure of an apex predator.

I looked up through the shadows. A towering figure halted outside the cell. The dim incandescent bulbs caught the razor-sharp contours of a chiseled jaw and a tailored charcoal suit that cost more than this entire dungeon facility.

The guard fumbled with the master key, his hands trembling so violently that metal clattered against metal. "A-Alpha Lynn... she's inside, sir."

The guard retreated ten yards back, head bowed, not daring to meet the newcomer's gaze.

Jonah Lynn stepped into the cell. His presence shrank the filthy room instantly. Amber-gold eyes, cold and calculating, locked onto mine. He looked down at me like an emperor inspecting a stray.

I rose from the stone bench, casually brushing the dust from my orange jumpsuit, hands shoved deep into my pockets to hide the faint frost tingling at my fingertips. I didn't bow. I didn't lower my eyes.

"Carleigh Mays," his voice rumbled, deep and resonant as a cello. "Declared wolfless at sixteen. Charged with the attempted murder of the Payne Pack's unborn heir."

I curled my lips into a sharp, mocking smile. "If you came here to laugh at the Payne family's circus, the exit is behind you. Don't let the silver dust hit you on the way out."

Jonah didn't flinch. Instead, he reached into his breast pocket and drew out a rolled parchment sealed with crimson wax. He tossed it onto the warped wooden table between us.

The parchment unfurled. Emblazoned across the top was the crest of the Elder Council: Supreme Sovereign Blood Oath Union.

"Sign it," Jonah commanded, his tone smooth, effortless, and terrifyingly absolute. "Become my contract wife. I will walk you out of this dungeon tonight with your head held high."

I stepped forward and scanned the merciless clauses. "Jonah Lynn, the supreme Alpha of Silvercrest Pack, head of a multi-billion-dollar enterprise... digging through a subterranean dungeon for a supposedly useless stray? What's the catch?"

Jonah closed the distance between us in a single stride. His searing Alpha heat crashed against my naturally sub-zero aura. It was intoxicating, like fire meeting permafrost. "A mutual arrangement. You need a shield to reclaim what your mother left behind. I need a wife to silence the Elder Council."

His gaze dropped to the faint, snowflake-shaped birthmark hidden beneath the hem of my jumpsuit sleeve, his eyes darkening with unspoken intent.

My mind raced. To reclaim Azure Manor and Eleanor's legacy, I needed immediate legal immunity. A union with the highest Alpha in the territory was the ultimate battering ram.

"Three months," I said, holding up three fingers. "When the term ends, we dissolve the bond and walk away. No interference in each other's personal lives."

Jonah's eyes narrowed slightly, surprised that a prisoner facing exile dared to negotiate. Then, he gave a curt nod. "Agreed."

Without hesitation, I bit into my thumb until copper welled up, pressing a drop of blood directly into the center of the oath circle. The crimson seal flared with blinding gold light, binding our fates.

Jonah watched my unwavering gaze, a flicker of genuine intrigue crossing his features. He turned on his heel. "Keep up."

I stepped past the shivering guard. The man dropped to his knees, slamming his forehead against the damp floor, terrified that the woman he had starved for seventy-two hours was now walking out on the arm of the territory's sovereign.

Outside, the crisp night air hit my lungs. A black armored SUV sat idling in the moonlight, bearing the Lynn family's silver crest.

A Beta driver in a crisp uniform immediately snapped the rear door open with total deference. I climbed in, sinking into the plush leather, followed by Jonah. His massive frame made the spacious cabin feel suffocatingly small, his knee brushing against my thigh.

"Drive," Jonah ordered coldly, not looking at me. "To the Elder Council."
