For three years, Brynn lived in a cramped, moldy apartment as a blind woman, relying entirely on her struggling gig-worker husband, Armond. But after a car accident miraculously restored her sight, she woke up in the hospital to a terrifying reality. The man holding her hand wasn't wearing his faded thrifted jacket. He wore a custom-tailored suit and a million-dollar diamond watch. Her loving, impoverished husband was actually the billionaire CEO of Shelton Enterprise. He had faked their marriage, kidnapped her, and locked her in a slum like a captive pet. Worse, he was getting ready to marry a wealthy heiress-the very woman who had hit Brynn with her sports car. When his fiancée found out about the secret apartment, she broke in and tried to force poison down Brynn's throat. "Drink it now, you blind rat!" And Armond? He simply put Brynn under strict house arrest, planning to use her hidden gemstone sculpting talents to secure his corporate empire after his wedding. Brynn couldn't understand how the man who gently fed her and guided her every step could be so deeply twisted. For three years, he watched her stumble in the dark, playing the devoted husband while keeping her completely isolated and powerless. But he didn't know her eyes were healed. Keeping her gaze blank and unfocused, Brynn quietly blackmailed him for five million dollars. On the night of his grand engagement gala, she unleashed a neighbor's vicious pitbull on his bodyguards and walked right out of her cage.

The Blind Wife's Five Million Dollar Revenge Chapter 1

The sterile sting of hospital antiseptic clashed violently with the cloying stench of expensive Damask rose perfume.

"She's just a blind street rat wandering into traffic, Armond," Chelsi Evans snapped, the sharp click of her Christian Louboutins pacing rhythmically across the linoleum. "My insurance adjusters will cut her a check and throw her five grand. Why did you insist on dragging me all the way to Cedars-Sinai when we're supposed to be finalizing our venue at the Beverly Hills Hotel?"

Lying motionless on the rigid gurney, Brynn Kensington didn't open her eyes. A violent jolt of nausea rolled through her skull, accompanied by a hollow, sickening vertigo. For three long years, ever since she woke up washed ashore on an empty Malibu beach with severe head trauma, her world had been nothing but suffocating darkness and total amnesia. She had no past, no name except the one Armond gave her, and zero vision.

Yet the violent collision with the bumper of Chelsi's sports car an hour ago had violently jarred her optic nerve. Beneath her heavy eyelids, the pitch-black void had fractured into faint, watery blurs of light and silhouette.

Then came the footsteps-measured, commanding, echoing with the arrogance of an apex predator.

"Chelsi, that's enough," a deep, velvety baritone cut through the sterile room. "Hit-and-runs are PR suicide right before the merger. Let me see her."

Every nerve ending in Brynn's body turned to dry ice.

That voice.

She would recognize it in the fires of hell. It belonged to Armond-her broke, downtrodden husband. The man who had picked her up from a charity shelter, who claimed he was drowning in debt after his father's bankruptcy, who drove twelve-hour shifts for rideshare apps in a rattling, second-hand Honda Civic just to afford their leaky, thirty-dollar-a-week attic in East Los Angeles.

Slowly, carefully, Brynn let her eyelids part by a millimeter, keeping her pupils completely unfocused, just as she had trained herself to do for over a thousand dark days.

The watery haze resolved into a figure that shattered her sanity.

Standing beside the hospital bed was not a man worn down by grease and sweat. Armond was draped in a bespoke, charcoal-gray Savile Row three-piece suit cut from virgin wool, worth at least twenty thousand dollars. On his wrist, catching the fluorescent ceiling lights, was the unmistakable platinum gleam of a Patek Philippe Grand Complications. His jaw was cleanly shaven, his dark hair immaculately sculpted, exuding the chilling, untouchable aura of Wall Street royalty.

A lie.

Three years of starving together, three years of him rationing her cheap anti-inflammatories, three years of tears and whispered promises that he would marry her the moment he could afford a wedding band... all a sickening, sadistic lie.

A sharp throb pulsed behind her temples, reminding her of the blank abyss where her childhood memories ought to be. Who was she? Why would a billionaire play-act as a penniless beggar in a slum, keeping a blind, amnesic woman caged like a stray sparrow?

"Babe, my Aston Martin's front bumper has a scratch on it," Chelsi whined, sauntering over and draping her diamond-encrusted arms intimately around Armond's neck. "Look at her. She looks like she hasn't showered in a week. Let's go."

Babe. Engagement venue.

Brynn felt her stomach twist into knots, but her breathing remained shallow and slow.

Armond deftly disengaged Chelsi's hands, his brow knitting together in a flash of calculating irritation. "Paparazzi are lurking in the underground garage, Chelsi. Go down with my security detail and wait in the Maybach. I'll settle this."

Chelsi pouted, tossed her highlighted blonde hair, and clicked out of the observation room, slamming the heavy wooden door behind her.

The silence that followed was suffocating.

Armond stepped toward the bed. The mask of the cold billionaire melted away instantly, replaced by the soft, trembling concern he had weaponized against her for three years.

"Brynn? Baby, are you awake? Can you hear me?"

His hand reached out, his long fingers grazing her cheek. Brynn felt a wave of visceral revulsion crawl beneath her skin, but she forced a tiny shiver, letting her head roll blindly away from his touch.

"Armond...?" Her voice came out frail, cracked, and breathless-the exact portrait of a helpless blind girl. "Is... is that you? I thought... I thought I heard your voice..."

Seeing her glassy, deadened eyes staring past his shoulder, the tension in Armond's broad shoulders vanished. The razor-sharp wariness in his dark eyes dissolved into smug, patronizing pity.

"It's me, sweetheart. You're safe," he murmured, taking her trembling hand into his warm, manicured palm. "You got clipped by a reckless driver on 7th Street. God, Brynn, you scared me to death."

"That woman..." Brynn squeezed his fingers, letting tears pool at the edges of her unfocused eyes. "She called you 'babe.' She talked about... an engagement? Armond, what is happening? Who was she?"

Armond let out a long, heavy sigh, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear with sickening gentleness.

"Don't cry, silly girl," he coaxed, his tone dripping with fabricated grief. "She's the spoiled daughter of a real estate tycoon. Her family runs an elite foundation. To raise the fifty thousand dollars for your upcoming corneal surgery, I signed a contract to work as her private chauffeur and stand-in escort for a few high-society galas. It's just an acting gig, Brynn. A terrible, humiliating job-all for you."

An acting gig.

For her surgery.

Under the rough cotton sheet, Brynn's fingernails dug so deeply into her palms that she felt the skin break. He had stolen three years of her life, stripped her of dignity, gaslit her into believing she was an unbearable burden, and now, even with her blood on the hospital floor, he was still feeding her poisoned sugar.

"Really...?" she whispered, her lip quivering as she leaned into his chest, feigning total, pathetic dependence. "You're not going to leave me, are you? If I lose you, I have nobody in this world."

Armond smiled-a quiet, possessive, chilling smirk of absolute ownership.

"I'd rather die than let you go, Brynn," he whispered against her hair. "You're my wife. Always."

He pulled back, smoothing his tie, his gaze shifting back to cold calculation. "Rest now. My trusted company driver will take you back to our apartment. Stay inside, lock the doors, and don't turn on the stove until I get home."

He turned and strode toward the door, leaving behind the faint trace of expensive cologne and total betrayal.

Through the narrow crack of the closing door, Brynn watched his reflection in the polished glass. Her pupils sharpened, the blur clearing into an icy, diamond-hard gaze.

She was blind no longer.
