Emily, being the designated successor of her multi-million family business, was used to having all eyes on her. She would stop at nothing to make all their lives a living hell.

Conquer Billionaire After Rebirth Chapter 1 The Acts of Betrayal

The skies had gradually dimmed around them. The waves splashed across the shorelines, reflecting the bright moon glimmering above them.

However, a ship offered a sharp contrast to the violent seas. In there, the spotlights waved at the shadows as loud music echoed through the night.

Today was Emily Feng's engagement party. Being the designated successor of the Feng Group, she was used to having all eyes on her. But tonight, it felt even more special. This time, she could also feel everyone watching with bated breath, as if trying to suck in her every move.

She wore a sky-blue strapless dressed that contrasted her smooth snow-white skin perfectly. The fabric wrapped around her figure so exquisitely that it could make anyone lust after her.

"Miss Emily, congratulations!"

Emily Feng squinted her eyes as a graceful smile slid into her ruby red lips. "Uncles, you're all extremely experienced shareholders of the Feng Group." She bowed her head respectfully. "I hope that I'll be able to seek your advice in the future."

"All you need to do is ask!" One of the old men chortled, patting his chest proudly.

Her crystal heels tapped against the glass flooring. She was about to walk up to her fiance, Ron Qin, who was too busy socializing and admiring the view from the other side of the yacht. When most of the guests were enjoying the lights and music, the other side was more silent peaceful. However, just as she was about to walk over to him, she caught sight of her sister Sofia Feng shoving her room card into his palm.

Sofia Feng shot him a flirty smile. The two of them held each other's hands and turned around as if nothing had happened. 'Maybe I just drank too much,' Emily Feng thought to herself, but when she peered over at them one again, the two left one after another.

"I miss you so much," Ron Qin gasped out.

The originally quiet room was thickened with sexual tension as they leaned in closer, inhaling each other's scents.

Suddenly, Sofia Feng pulled his hand down and glared at him. "Today's your engagement party with that bitch," she sneered. "You've already courted her for ten years. Now that you have her, you'd better not make any mistake. Otherwise, my Mom's going to be the death of me."

"Baby, relax. I already got this in the bag." He reassured her as he pulled her closer to his chest. "Besides, the stupid girl's still caught up in her own social engagement, and we haven't seen each other for so long. I miss you."

Ron Qin's thin lips went for her neck as his arms cascaded down her waist, gripping her hips and forcing her against his. His breathy voice fanned against her skin, and she groaned. "Hmph," Sofia Feng gasped out, as she tried her best to pry him out. "No, stop playing. Stop..."

"Playing?" He withdrew his hands and rolled his eyes. "I'm serious. Do you know how much that girl exhausted me? I mean, compared to you, she's nothing but plain old sticks."

Emily Fang's legs had grown so weak that she couldn't help but tremble. 'Am I drunk?' It seemed that no matter how much she shook her head, their voice could still come into her ears–as if the faiths were mocking her for trusting that man.

"Well? When will you actually marry her? As long as you get all her property, we don't have to sneak around anymore."

Sofia Feng sighed, rubbing her forehead in frustration.

"She's the only successor of the Feng Group, baby," he said. "It would take some time to get all her property. But don't worry. When I become the biggest shareholder of the company, I'll kick her to the curve. Then, you'll be the wife of esteemed Chairman of the Feng Group."

Sofia Feng giggled, slapping him on his chest playfully. She huddled closer to his side. "You're so bad," she teased. "But I've always liked this bad side of you."

Emily Feng could feel her heart breaking into two as she continued to hear the couple make out in the room. Her hands trembled. She leaned against the wall beside her, since her legs couldn't hold herself up anymore. How could this be? Her sister and her fiance, the two she could ever trust with her life. However, they were sleeping behind her back!

Just then, one of the waiters approached her. "Miss Emily, what are you doing here?" he asked. "Do you need any help?"

Emily stood there in a daze, not bothering to notice him. However, the couple inside had already straightened their backs from the sound.

"Shit! Did you hear that?" Sofia Feng said in hushed whispers.

"What do you think?" Ron Qin backed away from the woman as if he were a deer caught in headlights. "What am I going do? She must've heard everything!"

Before they could think of a better excuse, Emily Feng had already pushed the door open. The woman observed their flushed cheeks and disheveled clothing. It didn't take a genius to know what they had done.

I died on a Tuesday. It wasn't a quick death. It was slow, cold, and meticulously planned by the man who called himself my father. I was twenty years old. He needed my kidney to save my sister. The spare part for the golden child. I remember the blinding lights of the operating theater, the sterile smell of betrayal, and the phantom pain of a surgeon's scalpel carving into my flesh while my screams echoed unheard. I remember looking through the observation glass and seeing him—my father, Giovanni Vitiello, the Don of the Chicago Outfit—watching me die with the same detached expression he used when signing a death warrant. He chose her. He always chose her. And then, I woke up. Not in heaven. Not in hell. But in my own bed, a year before my scheduled execution. My body was whole, unscarred. The timeline had reset, a glitch in the cruel matrix of my existence, giving me a second chance I never asked for. This time, when my father handed me a one-way ticket to London—an exile disguised as a severance package—I didn't cry. I didn't beg. My heart, once a bleeding wound, was now a block of ice. He didn't know he was talking to a ghost. He didn't know I had already lived through his ultimate betrayal. He also didn't know that six months ago, during the city's brutal territory wars, I was the one who saved his most valuable asset. In a secret safe house, I stitched up the wounds of a blinded soldier, a man whose life hung by a thread. He never saw my face. He only knew my voice, the scent of vanilla, and the steady touch of my hands. He called me Sette. Seven. For the seven stitches I put in his shoulder. That man was Dante Moretti. The Ruthless Capo. The man my sister, Isabella, is now set to marry. She stole my story. She claimed my actions, my voice, my scent. And Dante, the man who could spot a lie from a mile away, believed the beautiful deception because he wanted it to be true. He wanted the golden girl to be his savior, not the invisible sister who was only ever good for her spare parts. So I took the ticket. In my past life, I fought them, and they silenced me on an operating table. This time, I will let them have their perfect, gilded lie. I will go to London. I will disappear. I will let Seraphina Vitiello die on that plane. But I will not be a victim. This time, I will not be the lamb led to slaughter. This time, from the shadows of my exile, I will be the one holding the match. And I will wait, with the patience of the dead, to watch their entire world burn. Because a ghost has nothing to lose, and a queen of ashes has an empire to gain.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.
