Vampire stories have always been horror tales. Supernatural beings do not encompass much more than the fictional world of most humans who are unaware of their actual existence in the world, because they do not know the depths of darkness like many others. This is because there are organizations that seek the balance and survival of the human being as far as these races are concerned and that could easily disappear them from the face of the earth. But no one yet understands the basis of their dark existence, much less why these beings are so aggressive. But that's how human beings are. They are terrified of any aspect that threatens their existence regardless of whether this is the food chain, the survival of the fittest: the reality of the animal world to which they believe they do not belong. And they defend themselves against those monsters, cornering them towards extinction. There are more than one Dracula and one Draculina in the world, but they are not all the same. They fear the greatest power. They fear divinity.

Chapter 1 1

Everyone had taken countless photos since joining that organization, but she was one of the people who treasured them the most, and in this special case, this photograph was extremely important to her.

She reached out her right hand very carefully before taking the portrait from her, she was able to blink softly and slowly to put it on the cabinet. She was face down, just like she left him every night to go to work and so she closed the door leaving the room in darkness while she adjusted her gloves.

Be quiet.

Everyone watched her as she prepared herself with ease. She took a pair of twin swords and put them in the sheath that was strapped to her shoulders, holding it behind her back. She then took a pair of silver revolvers which she placed at the sides of each of her legs, her work would start in ten minutes but she was very calm.

He turned one last time to the mirror: dark, skintight leather pants, then what appeared to be a simple leather vest, not even anything underneath, that belt holding his pants, the weapons, the fingerless gloves, and decided I was ready to go. She remembered that her reflection didn't exist and a man simply walked over and handed her a long black coat that would hide evidence of her weapons.

"It's time," he informed her so that she could only nod with a sigh, to quickly put on her coat as he began.

"Let's go get them, Xander"

There was a very bright moon in Detroit. There was commotion everywhere as it was Saturday so people were getting drunk and making some riots around the neighborhood. Due to the violence in this area, no one was surprised every time a dead person was found, although lately the victims lost a lot of blood before being completely killed.

It was so cold that the albino could barely tolerate it despite the mask on his face, which covered his mouth and nose. The truth was that working on cold dates was not his greatest pleasure, but now he was very distracted on the roof of a warehouse while he read for the umpteenth time that book that he did not put down for some reason in life. Thanks to the fact that it was night, his presence there was not obvious and due to the special ability of that abnormal eye, he could read without any problem despite such darkness.

"It's going to be so much fun when you go blind" accused the blonde as steam was present in every word he said "How can you be so calm in this cold?"

"There's nothing better than being distracted, Jose. Can you tell where he is?"

"Give it a few seconds," asked the blue-eyed man, before putting a cigarette to his lips, taking a lighter out of his pocket before lighting the tobacco, to take a deep drag "Would you like some?"

"It seems that they don't mind hiding their presence" murmured a female voice, sitting on the ground behind them, while they both reacted.

"When did you get here?" The blond questioned, surprised.

"It's you who smells them and you didn't even notice their presence, huh? What an idiot" the older one mocked, to which the girl smiled.

"Our grouping doesn't make much sense, after all, Xander," she reminded him, before standing up. "You can see the thousands of miles away, he smells them, I can do both and even feel them"

"Well, we face all kinds of enemies" commented the other, with a barely evident smile.

"Here it comes" she murmured, turning serious.

"Really?" He asked the other before turning over his shoulder, not to see anyone, and then facing forward "I don't..."

"She's gone" interrupted the boy. "He's about to turn the corner"

"Let go of me, damn it!" One woman screamed as a tall African-American almost dragged her by her wrist.

"Shut the fuck up" he growled, before pushing her against the warehouse wall, he had red pupils.

A shot.

The girl blinked twice before noticing that she had been hit right on the wrist of the hand with which she was holding her, she turned to look to her right and found a woman, she turned her face to the left and looked at that shattered hand, even so, the boy had remained motionless, while his face had some spots.

She began to tremble, not knowing what to do, as the fellow steadied himself and opened his mouth again, hearing a somewhat savage growl that would make the prostitute scream in terror just before those animal fangs sharpened and the other handshake him and take him by his hair, placing him in front of the other woman, showing her how he would devour her at that moment.

The second shot hit her shoulder on her good arm so the woman was freed without choice, so she ended up on the cold pavement, leaving her to crawl looking for a way out of what seemed like a real nightmare. He just stared in amazement, the beast before his eyes and then the woman in black.

"Go" ordered the woman with the gun, so the girl only hurried to escape and run, while the monster reacted to both shots, with its head down, before raising its face and letting out a ferocious growl "And you shut the hell up!" mouth" he shot.

"Fuck off, you filthy bitch" then he lunged at her, with that red tinkling look, so she fired off another couple of shots.

When they realized, that body was on the ground colder than before. One-shot right between her eyes and one to her chest, terrifyingly penetrating. She just put the gun away before hers two companions of hers reached her, standing next to her before looking at the body of her subject, the albino then covered her eye with the band he was wearing. her.

"You seem more independent lately, Yuki" the man admired, to which the girl sighed tiredly.

"Well, I've been training a long time," she admitted, as the blond pulled out a phone and made a call. "I'm sorry if you don't enjoy yourself as much as before Xander, but I can't depend on you all the time"

"Of course not" he supported her as she smiled once more "You're all grown up, little one" he teased, putting a hand on her head.

"Cleanup crew is on their way," the blonde informed. "We can continue with the work, according to the locator we will find him in the next building, the other is selling drugs at a party, we will have to wait for him to come out"

"Then let's continue" replied the girl, to give them a very calm smile before they turned their backs on her.

"Okay, it looks like this visit to Detroit won't last as long as the previous one" commented the blond very animated. "Maybe we'll be early." They were making their way, taking only a couple of steps before a shadow rose behind them.

"Jose, are you hungry?" The girl asked, to which he sighed before shaking his head, shuddering slightly.

"Go ahead, Alejandra has served a lot of dinners..."

"Okay. Take advantage" he muttered, before turning around with a high kick that pushed the guy against the warehouse wall.

The grotesque figure emerged from the dust and debris, before noticing the girl walking calmly, her eyes now a radioactive shade of green, glowing like a pair of neon-style spotlights, her hands in her pockets.

"Demon" he accused her, but she smiled.

"My friend is a devil" she started, before taking off his coat and letting it fall when he got dangerously close "But darling" the tone of her eyes was changing to a reddish one "I'm much worse"

"Yuki has been very hungry lately" Jose commented while both gentlemen waited for her "Although considering that she doesn't drink much..."

"Yuki doesn't drink human blood, that will wear her down" replied the elder.

"Stop talking about me like I'm not here" she complained, before picking up her coat from the floor "Xander, tell the cleaning service that they only have to see the reconstruction and the ashes"

"Whatever you say, Yuki" then he made another call.

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."

Nicole had entered marriage with Walter, a man who never returned her feelings, bound to him through an arrangement made by their families rather than by choice. Even so, she had held onto the quiet belief that time might soften his heart and that one day he would learn to love her. However, that day never came. Instead, he treated her with constant contempt, tearing her down with cruel words and dismissing her as fat and manipulative whenever it suited him. After two years of a cold and distant marriage, Walter demanded a divorce, delivering his decision in the most degrading manner he could manage. Stripped of her dignity and exhausted by the humiliation, Nicole agreed to her friend Brenda's plan to make him see what he had lost. The idea was simple but daring. She would use another man to prove that the woman Walter had mocked and insulted could still be desired by someone else. All they had to do was hire a gigolo. She made an unconventional proposal, one that immediately caught his interest and proved impossible for him to refuse.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. I woke up on silk sheets that smelled of expensive cedar and cold sandalwood, a world away from my cramped apartment in Brooklyn. Beside me lay Ezra Gardner—my boss, the billionaire CEO of Gardner Holdings, and the man who could end my career with a snap of his fingers. He didn’t offer an apology for the night before; instead, he looked at me with terrifying clarity and proposed a cold, calculated business arrangement. "Marriage. It stabilizes the board and solves the PR crisis before it begins." He dressed me in archival Chanel and sent me home in his Maybach, but my life was already falling apart. My boyfriend, Irving, claimed he had passed out early, yet his location data placed him at my best friend’s apartment until three in the morning. When I tried to run, I realized Ezra was already ten steps ahead, tracking my movements and uncovering the secret I’d spent twenty years hiding: my connection to the powerful Senator Grimes. I was trapped between a CEO who treated me like a line item on a quarterly report and a boyfriend who had been using me while sleeping with my closest friend. I felt like a pawn in a game I didn't understand, wondering why a man like Ezra would walk up forty flights of stairs on a broken leg just to make sure I was safe. "Showtime, Mrs. Gardner." Standing on the red carpet in a gown that cost more than my life, I watched my cheating ex-boyfriend’s face turn pale as Ezra claimed me in front of the world. I wasn't just an assistant anymore; I was a weapon, and it was time to burn their world down.
