Chapter 1 Cake Shop

It was a peaceful evening for Yuna on a busy Seoul street. Walking around on her birthday something caught her eye. It was a cake shop.

Though living in Seoul for years she never saw this cake shop, her curiosity got the best of her.

The ring of the bell indicated that someone entered the shop.

Yuna closed her eyes sniffing the fresh smell of the cakes... She was in the cake shop after many years...

Yuna POV.

Curiously entering the shop I bumped into a worker and stumbled at my footsteps. I immediately bowed, apologising, and he did the same too.

I went to see the cakes and there were not many flavours and I didn't know many of the flavours but I just chose taking Red Velvet cake as it looked appetising...

"Excuse me?" I said while turning around to look at the worker but he was already staring at me intensely and I was taken aback and I looked down at my feet to avoid his strong gaze...

"Yes..." He said while walking inside the counter and I looked at his movements carefully which I should not do. I looked at his name tag and it was "Kim Yohan..." I slightly whispered... I hope he didn't hear me...

"Can I get a Red Velvet cake..." I said while pointing at the cake and he nodded and began packing the cake for me. Meanwhile, I looked around the shop, it seemed new and no workers or customers.

The interior of the shop was perfect for a cake shop... The paintings on the wall of cakes and baking ingredients... The bright lights... Everything seems perfect for a cake shop...

"Here," The worker said, interrupting me with my traits of opinions I flinched lightly and took the packed cake and handed him the money, left from the shop bowing.

End of Yuna POV.

~~~~~
Sitting in a bench in the park she looked up at the sky... The sky had many stars but no moon. Yuna was always accompanied by the Moon and the stars but today it was no moon day... A tear rolled down her cheek.
"Happy 18th birthday to me..." Said Yuan while wiping off the tears and eating the cake... She felt the cake was delicious...
She never ate anything sweet on her birthday... But this time it was different... She didn't know why she did it but she didn't regret it either.
With her traits of thoughts, she didn't even know when it started to rain but after realising it she ran back to her one-room apartment where she had no one who welcomed her, sadly chuckling she entered her apartment and dried herself... While humming a melody...
Laying down on her small bed she blankly stared at the ceiling and said, "Why is life so hard for me?"tears started beaming again in her innocent eyes but she didn't let the tears fall off and slowly she drifted off to sleep.
The next morning she woke up and glanced at the clock and it was 6 am. She never needed a alarm as she was used to waking up early.
"God, thank you for this life..." Yuna said while closing her eyes... Though life was tough for her she was always thankful with what she had...
Getting ready for the day she wore black jeans with a white turtle neck top and for the shoe she went with white sneakers... Her first job was at a 24x7 convenience store...
Yuna took her books to the university and left for work... On her way to work she came across an old woman who was trying to lift the heavy bags but before Yuna could help her a man took the bags and it was Kim Yohan...
Yuna's eyes grew wide in surprise... She didn't expect to see him again in her neighbourhood... But brushing off the thoughts she rushed to the store...
Entering the store she changed her working clothes and started her work... She removed all the expired goods and placed the new ones...
The ringing bell indicated that someone entered the shop... Yuna came to bow to the customer and was too shocked to react... As it was Kim Yohan...
Yuna stared at Yohan's eyes and she forgot that she was working as she saw some undefinable emotions in his eyes... Yuna was always quick to read people's eyes but in Yohan's case she couldn't understand what he was thinking... Which made her more curious...
"Umm... Do you have baking soda...?" Yohan said breaking eye contact... And Yuna was embarrassed that she was lost in a stranger's eyes...
"The 3rd rack..." Yuna said going to the cash counter to look after the shop... Yohan came with packs of baking soda and Yuna billed everything...
"That will be 3 dollars..." Yuna said while looking down at her hands and Yohan kept 3 dollars and left the shop and Yuna sighed deeply in relief...
At 10 am she started her walk to university... From 7 am to 10 am she works at the convenience store...
On her way to university, she came across many children with their parents accompanying them to school... Yuna controlled her tears from falling and walked without looking at her surroundings...
As soon as she entered the university the whispers of students started but she ignored everything and went to her class...
Yuna was studying in the architecture department... She entered the classroom and sat in the 5th row... Slowly the class started filling with students and soon the lecturer came with a new student...
Yuna's eyes went into shock... The student said, "Hello everyone myself Jeon Jiho..." Yuna stopped breathing for a second...
Lecturer made the boy sit in the 1st row... Yuna could not focus on the lecturer at all. She was glancing in the direction of the 1st row every now and then...
Soon the 1st class was completed and Yuna was looking down on her notes to check if she had taken down the important points...
"Long time Yuna..." She heard someone say while waving their hands in front of her face...
