Chapter_1

It was a bright and sunny friday morning, birds could be heard chirping, people could be seen walking dogs, couples could be seen having picnics.

A young girl could be seen walking by the side walk on her way to school, suddenly a blue car pulled up by her side.

Who is that young girl? I know you are probably wondering, well She is Diana Blackwood.

"Aye Diana hop in!" The young boy in the blue car called out to Diana.

The boy's name is Rodney, he is one of her many friends and a close one at that.

He always picks her up in morning and takes her to school.

Diana smiled at Rodney and got in.

In the car,she met few of her friends and her best friend Mariya.

"Mariya!" She called out as she reached out for an embrace.

They hugged themselves, chatting and laughing all through the drive to school.

"Oh my god,Diana look!" Mariya said to Diana, she turned and saw the school's most handsome and popular guy ,Xander walking down the hallway.

Diana and Mariya walked up to him, he looked handsome than ever this morning.

"Diana when are you going to tell him about your f...."

Before Mariya could finish her statement, Diana put a hand over her mouth.

"Keep quiet, I will tell him when the time is right!" She whispered and took her hand away from her friend's mouth.

Diana has been crushing on Xander for a while now, Mariya also likes him but because she knows how her bestie feels about Xander, she hid her feelings.

See, Telling Xander she likes him would have been a lot easier if He did not already have a girlfriend.

Xander is seventeen while Diana and Mariya are fifteen and his girlfriend sixteen.

And, our handsome Xander is in the 11th grade while she is in the 9th grade.

His girlfriend is in the 10th grade, she is currently the leader of the cheerleaders in the school.

his girlfriend is the sassy type, spoilt and a rich brat. Xander, is a topper in the visual arts section, which includes drawing, sketching,painting etc.

"Diana, why don't you tell him? How about after school? I heard he will be by the visual arts class all alone this evening and his girlfriend will be going home?" Mariya said but Diana shook her head.

"No Mariya, I will tell him when the time is right, trust me!" She said and Mariya gave up, they both headed to their class.

Soon it was time for lunch and as usual, Diana, Mariya and their friends went to sit at their usual spot in the cafeteria.

"What are you guys buying for lunch?" Jamie asked.

"I don't know, spaghetti and meat balls?" Mariya said,asking no one in particular and everyone acknowledged with a nod.

Four people stood up and went to buy their lunch while the others sat just to secure their seats.

After they bought their lunch and drinks,they brought it back to the table and everyone began eating.

The Noise in the cafeteria increased and everyone turned to look, it was Xander and His girlfriend.

He walked into the canteen not minding the drooling and stares from the girls, his girlfriend clinged onto his arm which annoyed most of the girls present

Diana smiled, Xander is so cute, she hopes that one day she will be the lucky to hold hands with him as his girlfriend.

The school bell rang alerting everyone that school was now over.

Everyone left their classes and went home.

It was the weekend, some went to parties, some went to the zoo,some went to the beach but Mariya and Diana went home however.

"......Anastasia Jones, age 14 has been missing since Tuesday, eye witnesses said that she was last seen going home when a car stopped and two men in black dragged her in, no one has seen her since....." The woman on the news channel said.

"Oh my, that is the 20th girl this month!" Diana's mother exclaimed in shock.

Luckily, their neighborhood is a really protected one, such things can not happen, or so they thought.

"Why do they do that,mama?" Asked mara her younger sister.

"Well, when young girls are kidnapped they are sold on the black market,shipped to drug dealers as slaves" she and Diana stopped eating.

"Really mom?" She asked and her mother nodded.

Diana could not believe her ears, what kind of person would do such things?

".....And not only that but some get sold as sex slaves all over the world to gang leaders,kingpins,business men, it is such a sad scene" her mom continued.

Her mother remembered something.

"Diana, I need to speak to you, come to my room" her mother stood up and left, Diana followed behind.

*****In The Room*****

"Diana, Are you a virgin?" Her mother asked her as she stared at her cautiously.

Diana's mouth dropped open, with a slight frown on her face,

"Mother! Of course I am a virgin!" She said taking the words slow at a time, her mother smiled.

"Yes dear I know, I just wanted to make sure. look dear, you are a young lady and as you grow, your hormones will rise, but please save yourself" she said and Diana rolled her eyes.

Diana is more of the 'Asexual' type, an Asexual person is one who isn't really sexually attracted to people but still enjoys foreplay.

"Mom do not worry. I won't have sex until I turn eighteen, OK?" She said and she hugged her mother.

"Also dear, please be careful when you go out with friends, our neighborhood is protected but still, be careful" her mom kissed her forehead.

A phone rang, it was Diana's, she checked it and it was Mariya.

'Bestie!!!!" she screamed and Diana covered her ears.

"Mariya do you want my eardrums to be damaged you silly girl" Mariya laughed.

"No girl,I'm just so excited to tell you something"

"Let me guess, you found your lost tooth?"

"Hey that is not funny!!" Diana laughed.

"Anyways Diana, I have $100, I was wondering if you would come with me to L.O.L. " Mariya said and Diana beamed.

"What's L.O.L.? Its a place where you can buy up to 10 pounds of candy at a cheaper rate, they have every type of candy. They recently launched business and it is becoming real popular."

"Of course I will come, even though I only have 50 bucks with me"

"She Chuckled, we will definitely share, meet me by the hotdog stand. bye girl love yah"

"Yeah me too bestie" she said and ended the call.

She kissed her mother goodbye and left with her bag.

******At L.O.L.****

"Oh my god!!" Diana exclaimed as they got into the place, they met with all types of candies.

Rice crispies, pop tarts, gummy worms, gummy bears, Jello, push pops, fried ice cream and soo on.

The two teens licked their lips and began buying candy.

Diana bought lots of chocolate eggs ,gums and rice crispies and pop tarts, Mariya however bought lots of gummy worms.

She loves them. She likes how they taste sour but are covered in sugar, yummy.

"Mariya, is that really all you bought?" Diana asked as she watched her bestie stuffing her mouth with candies.

"Hmm" Mariya could only hum, Diana laughed and bought two bottles of water for them.

"OK Mariya I think it is time to go" Diana said but Mariya frowned.

"Let us go to the park!" She said and Diana nodded.

"sounds like a pretty good idea." They both smiled and held hands,swinging their arms and hopping as they went.

****AT THE PARK****

The two girls laughed and talked as they sat and watched the birds.

"So Mariya, what do you want to be when you grow up?"

"Hmm.... I want to be a Chef!"

"I want to be a Surgeon"

they continued chatting for long before they decided to go home.

it was past five o'clock in the evening.

They began walking home slowly and chatting and chewing their candies.

"Diana what is going to happen when we grow up?"

"I do not know, when we grow up we will be living our separate lives, "

"Separate lives?! You mean we will be in a different city working and we won't get to see each other anymore"

"Something like that, Mariya"

"Why does it have to be like that?"

"I do not know girl, that is just destiny. Who knows,a few years from now we will be married with kids and living our own lives"

"Which means we won't ever see each other again"

"I guess so Mariya"

"No!"

"What do you mean?"

"It does not have to be like that"

"I do not understand"

"Let's make a promise Diana, no matter where we end up in the future we will always find each other again!"

"I promise Mariya!" They hugged each other dearly.

After they disengaged from the hug they kept walking until Diana's phone rang. It was her mum.

"Mom?"

"Diana where are you? Its almost 6 p.m. come home dear I do not want you to get kidnapped"

"Mother we won't get kidnapped, this neighborhood is protected"

"I know dear but still come home early"

"Ok mom bye"

"Bye"

Diana did not know that, That! Would be the last time she ever spoke to her precious mother.

"So Diana, a few years from now you will be married to Xander" Mariya teased and Diana blushed.

"And you will be having little babies, wah wah wah!"

"Mariya shut up" they laughed hard, none of them even noticed the black van approaching from behind

As they rounded up the corner their houses and neighborhood came into view.

They reached Mariya's house and stopped.

"OK Mariya see you t...." Before Diana could finish her statement, a man in black covered her mouth with a cloth and dragged her into the car.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! Diana!!!!!" Mariya screamed before another man also dragged her into the car.

Mariya's mother came out and saw her daughter being dragged into a car, she was too late, the van turned and drove away with full speed.

"Mariya!!!!" She Screamed.

Everyone in the neighbourhood came out and tried consoling the Mariya's mum.

Back in the car,the men tied up Mariya and Diana before knocking them out.

It is funny how one minute you plan your whole future out then BOOM! Everything changes.

This is now the beginning of Diana's journey to her place of Pain and Sorrow.
