Love Matrix Chapter 1 The briefcase

The Disco lights flashed around with a colourful effect that got blended up with the loud music from the DJ, popularly known DJ Sound-spirit. The pole dancers reminded Henry of Anastasia Sokolova and Anastasia Skukhtorova, even though clubbing had become his usual thing.

Henry was on a hoodie, slowly sipping a Dalmore 62 drink, watching the pole dancers from the VIP lounge. The hot drink chilled his dry throat while he was yet on his long stare. One of the pole dancers realized he focused on her, so she gave this erotic stare at him while making her erotic moves around the pole with the others. This went on, not until he was distracted by the noise from behind. He saw group of rich old men, encompassing his target which had brought him to the clubhouse. They drank and smoked merrily, playing cards.

From Henry's observation, it was apparent enough that his target was the smartest of all, making away with the guaranteed cash to win. He quickly grabbed his cup of drink, quietly walking down to their table, not taking off his look from the pole dancer.

"Do I call you a lad or.... maybe a mate. Coz you are under a dirty hood." A man of them fumbled with a Gurka Royal courtsean cigar in his mouth, as few others gave out belly laughter while few ladies romanced few of them.

"Easy, easy. Easy, Doodle. Stolen money keeps giving idiots some stolen guts!" Another Said with a deeper voice as broke into a hard laughter, while Henry just stood, staring at the cards left on the table since the last play.

"Stolen money?" Henry quietly and calmly asked with a scoff.

The old man picked up the money, signaling one of his bodyguards to bring him his briefcase. He opened it with a clicking sound, slowly dropping the money into the box without taking his eyes off Henry.

"Flip the cards and let us have a game." Henry spoke to him, waiting for his response.

The old man Chuckled deeply, slowly walking closer to him. "How much do you bet on my cards? I can be very expensive." The old man giggled evilly, taking in the thick smoke with a brief and silent sigh.

"The briefcase." Henry slipped in.

"We'll bet on your briefcase." He added, finally looking up.

"My briefcase? Where the fuck is your damn wooden box? I hate to use so much expensive words. Bi-bi-di-bo-bi-do." The old man sneeringly told Henry, releasing the smoke to his face.

"Have me if I'm unable to provide the damn wooden box." Henry justly answered, adjusting his hood.

The men within cheered them up with cough laughter as they both bent green on the game. Through the smoke, the cards were dispersed on the table of drinks as the old man ran up his time within his period and had few hearts to his credit. The applauds later on emphasized about defeat to Henry's belief, but he had few secrets.

The pole dancer showed up again and Henry's attention was lost to her sexy postures. He somehow placed his hand on the cards sensitively, picking one with his right hand and picked another with the left hand.

"What!" The old man thundered in wrath, angrily staring at the cards.

Henry slowly put off the hood, looking up in the same manner.

"You!" The old man recognized, quickly picking his briefcase and asked his guards to shoot Henry down.

But Henry rolled beneath the round table, forcefully standing and pulling the table of drinks against them. The sudden gun shots alarmed everyone on the dance floor as all ran hither and thither for safety. Encompassing the screeches by the ladies as the club was heated up with the heavy gunshots and the loud music after the DJ has ran away.

Henry ran to the upper floor, sliding beneath a door and jumped to the wall, holding up a balcony and swung up. He realized the men coming to him and saw the old men escaping with the briefcase.

"Piece of shit!" He exclaimed, breathing in and took a shot race towards the end point of the upper floor. He jumped down, rolling on the ground to his second stand, evading bullets that shot down two of the men.

"Idiots! You are fired!" The old man yelled, taking his briefcase to the other hand, heading to another passage hurriedly.

Henry ran after him, blew his face and snatched the briefcase, putting on his hood again. The old man's guards ran after Henry who ran out of the large building with the briefcase, looking around for a direction to follow. Next, a Chevrolet Metro car drove in, and it was the pole dancer.

She winked at Henry, but he scoffed and hopped into the car, as the young lady drove out speedily.

"Hey." The young lady said, liting a stick of Cigarette to smoke, but Henry snatched it out of his lips and threw it away through the window.

"What?" She stressed, drifting left with a short stare at Henry who wasn't even looking at her.

"Rule number nine, do not smoke or drink while driving." Henry sighed, yet looking through the tinted windows.

"Rules? I'm fuckin helping you with an expensive lift and here you are, giving goddamn rules." She complained, returning her wheel. Henry spoke no word but fixed his eyes on the rear mirror.

"Hey, what the fuck are you doing with the fuckin briefcase?" The lady asked, looking at him.

"If you can stop saying the word fuck." Henry said in a low tone, straining his eyes to see two cars speedily driving after them.

"Ok. So?" She said, not savvy of the cars behind.

"Just do as I say and I'll tell you anything. Change the clock. Speed up." Henry responded, buttoning up his jacket.

Without objection, the young lady sped up, puzzling Henry. She was really breaking the clock instead of changing. She over sped off that the tyres would screech at every little turn, either to the right or to the left.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

The Pierre Hotel smelled of old money and stale ambition, but all I could taste was the copper of my own rage. I stood in the back of the ballroom, a "mute" shadow in a silk dress, watching my sister Brande play the grieving saint on stage. She wiped away a fake tear, telling the crowd I was too "unstable" to attend my own engagement party. In reality, I was watching her share a secret, intimate squeeze with my fiancé, Chase Sterling, right under the blinding spotlight. When I finally hit "execute" and projected the video of them together in a hotel suite for the entire elite crowd to see, the room went cold. But the nightmare was just beginning. Instead of apologizing, my father crushed his scotch glass and told me to fix the mess. He demanded I issue a public statement claiming I had a mental breakdown and "hallucinated" the whole thing. "If you don't corroborate the Deepfake story, I'll have you committed to a facility with barred windows," he hissed. Brande just smirked from the corner, mocking me for being a "mute waste of space" who didn't even realize my own trust fund had paid for the diamonds around her neck. I realized then that in this family, silence wasn't a disability—it was a target. They thought because I didn't speak, I didn't have a voice. They thought they could use my silence to bury the truth and save their precious stock prices. They were wrong. I didn't just leak a video; I had the keys to every secret they ever tried to hide. I walked out of that hotel and straight into the black sedan of Julian Curtis, my father’s most ruthless rival and the only man who knew what really happened the night of the blizzard in Aspen. I handed him the encrypted files that would trigger a hostile takeover of my family’s empire. As the city blurred past, I looked at the man who held my future in his hands and typed one final message on my phone. "I'm not here to be saved. I'm here to be the knife."

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.
