Chapter 1 Episode 1

Episode 1 SideWalk “I shouldn’t have married you George, You just made my life so miserable! She grabbed the tip of my cloth and rants to my face “You bloody lair! After everything you promise, You just ruin my life! You ruin my precious life! I didn’t move an inch, I clearly allowed her to throw out all her anger on me. I was used to that every morning. I gently removed her fingers wrapped across the tip of my cloth and walk out of the house Those fingers were pretty when I married her unfortunately they grew weary and old because of me.

I was welcome by the heavy lightening and Thunder outside, rain poured down over the land, I stood on the doorway and looked up at the dark sky. The pink lightening flashed drawing a haunting symbol in the sky. All those memories ran back into my head, Maybe I shouldn’t have forced myself into marrying her, Maybe I shouldn’t have dropped out of school because of her pregnancy, Maybe things would have been different. Ignoring every single drop of water I walked down the dark alley until I came across an old tall building, It was still early in the morning, I mounted the stairs until I landed on the fourth floor, I was totally drenched. “How many times have I told you to stop coming late! A slap landed on my face I took a quick peep at my old drained wrist watch, I was just a minute late. “Am sorry, I took a peep at her young angry face She obviously scoffed into the air. “Jane, I told you to stop hitting older people! A woman angrily barged into the scene. “But mom.. She stomped her feet before storming out of the scene. “You should hurry and start your work” She turned back to my face Her face, much like that of her daughter was strong and chiseled. The only difference was her brown eyeballs and the black tattoo that lined her face and ran towards her collarbone I nodded slightly and get hold of my old apron hanged across the cracked wall. I started from the dishes and washed every single plate in the old sink, I wonder why they keep throwing a party every night. “Mom, I told you to employ someone else, A woman would have been much better” Jane was leaning on the door frame of her Mom’s room, while Mrs Sophie rested her back on the Black sofa in her room. That kinda sounds like a whisper but I could clearly hear that. “I have my reason for employing him” Mrs Sophie, Jane’s Mum rumbled underneath trying to focus on her cellphone “Do you trust him that much? What if he later blow the whistle on us? She shrugged lightly. Mrs Sophie took a short peep at me, I lower my eyes trying to pretend as if I heard nothing. I knew they are involve in all form of illegal works. The old building is their main hideouts. “Just leave that to me” She responded tearing off her gaze away from me. Jane is such a little girl in her Sixteen, I wonder why her mother allow her into their dirty game. Claire would have been her age if she was still alive. “You still here? Jane swayed her hips in She changed from her pink pajamas to her school uniform. “You should hurry before the bus leaves” Her mom walked in behind her. She took the last glimpse at me before heading towards the exit. Mrs Sophie walked back into her room while I continued scrubbing the tiled old floor. “Your wife works at the pharmacy near the Hope estate right? She took a reverse. I nodded lightly trying to avoid her gaze. she was obviously threatening me with my poor innocent wife. “Here is your payment” she throw the bundle of money on me which literally flipped into the air. I got on my knee and grabbed every note, The last note ended under her feet. She stepped more harder on it. I took a short glimpse at her flawless face. “If you blow the whistle on us, then your wife is gone! - I was back home. I kept the two bundle of money inside the old wardrobe. Cynthia walked back in, She stopped her steps and fixed her gaze on me for minutes. I stare into the depth of her eyes, All I can see was pain and sadness that I caused her, Maybe I shouldn’t have force her into the marriage. Cynthia and I were lovers, Unfortunately she ended up getting pregnant when we were still in high school. We were just kids, She was eighteen back then while I was just a year older, I was so scared but I never agree to abort the baby. I dropped out of school and try making money to take care of my first child, She ended up dropping out of school after her Childbirth, And then we welcome our baby girl “Claire”. We were really happy not knowing what await us in the future. Now, The child is gone. We were only left with debts and pain.
