Episode 1 It was about to rain. I stood on the step of the building and looked up at the dark sky. The pink lightening flashed drawing a haunting symbol in the sky. My phone buzzed jerking me out of my thought, I glanced down at a text from Brianna. "How did it go? "Bad again? Another buzzed in after minutes of ignoring her. I dropped my phone into my saddle and walk into the road. The rain started to pour, I looked up frustratedly as the drop of rain hit my face. I just need a long sleep to end my crappy day.
Everything hasn't been going well, starting from the Job interview and my mother's case. "Am sorry, I can't work on this. The case was closed three years ago" The man voiced out taking another shot at the file. "I also know that, I just need you to investigate deeper, you can't close the case as a normal home accident, It a murder case" I explained. "Murder? There was no evidence for that, Everyone knows she had a weak knee, she could have fell off the stairs and hit her head" He gestured. "What about the strangling mark on her neck? Did she do that by herself? I was getting more furious. He went quiet. "It wasn't an accident, it was a murder but why do you all keep lying! I yelled this time. "Are you trying to hide the murderer? I scoffed wiping the corner of my eyes. I lean in with anticipation. My inquisitiveness has managed to get the reply very promptly "If you can get someone with good connections or meet with influential men, Then the case might be open again, I have no right to open back the case except if I want to lose my job" I could tell he was genuine and his kindness make me want to cry. "Don't worry, I will figure it out on my own" I grunts starting to take a short nap. "You are still so stubborn" I heard her growled. My eyes snapped open. I glared devilishly at her face, she immediately turned to the other side of the room. "To be blunt Sloane, You know better than anyone how evil the Walton is , At least you are also a daughter" she obviously rolled her eyes. "Am not! I retorted. The loud yell was quickly covered up by an awkward silence. "Are you not going back to being a model? She cut off the awkward silence. I didn't bother to say a thing. I lay still on the soft bed staring at the space. "Brianna, Did you heard of carpe-Diem? I managed to voice out. "Yeah, I heard it a unique place" She responded. I slid my feet into the flip flops which was right beside the foot of the bed. The cold noises of my footsteps occupied the room as I headed for the Bathroom. "Can we go? Just to have some fun" I turned around and simply looked at her face before twisting the door knob. "Woah, I can't believe my workaholic is trying to get some fun" she laughed loudly like a maniac. I ignored her crazy act and stepped into the bathroom. I crouched down as I watched my feet submerged in the water with different though running through my head. I slid out the card from my inner pocket staring instantly at the name, Carpe-Diem. "Mom, I don't know what to do" I whispered sending back the tons of tears threatening to fall. I wiped off my tears and walked back to the room. "Brianna, Do you heard from Brandon? I walked back in. "Sloane, What do you think? Should we wear this? Or this? Brianna pulled out three different strapless gown immediately I stepped back in. Geez, I shouldn't have involve her.
