Footsteps dragging on the ground. A loud sound was heard, alas! It seems like an explosion

Irene was going home that night so late her phone was almost down, so she couldn't use the torch.

She moves so carelessly, she was not in her right mind. she was thinking about her life.

“Damn, this is so crazy” she mumbles, hitting her hands hard on her head.

“Does everything have to end up like this”she says and freezes "holy shit” what is that, lying on the Bare ground?

Her other mind was telling her to run but, hell no! That was the only short path that led to her house.

“I know this is the only short path to your home, but don't you fear for your life?” Another of her instincts speaks.

“Ssh,” she says, placing her index finger on her lip. She was going to turn back, but something kept driving her forward until she reached and passed the scene,, but she shouted, "holy ghost" when she felt something grab her legs.

She was shivering, “save me”a faint voice said, “Am not the Messiah'' she replied.

“Please save me, I am dying”

“Does a dying person speak?”

“Please save me.”

“im not saving you.” she shouted on top of her voice and attempted to move further but fell down.

The next morning

Irene was outside her flat, she was rushing down the stairs in a haste, if she didn't get down on time

She might run out of luck cos definitely”there will be no water to cook, wash and bathe.

She hurried down, hurray! There were just a few people left there. The water was rushing well, she was the number fifteen on the line. The water is undoubtedly going to reach her turn.

It got to the seventh person. The water was still rushing fine. Then to the tenth person and finally, it got to her turn. She placed her bucket in the direction of the tap.

“Expecting the water to rush well, but then it's just a dream because the water keeps dropping a little” fantastic it actually got to her turn and she ran out of luck but no problem she is going to wait until the three buckets are full.

She squatted and stared at her wristwatch, “I am going to wait for you to be filled up you know? Slow and steady wins the race be and a little drop of water makes a mighty ocean.”she recites this slowly.

Finally! Her bucket of water was filled up, that makes her squeak and whistle.

She lifted the biggest bucket of water and went up, she opened her door and kept it down then rushed down to take the last bucket she was climbing the stairs when suddenly she slipped and fell.

“Her bucket got broken, and then she thanked God that she didn't lose her front teeth.” She fakes a smile at the thought of her losing her front teeth,

“she will just be a tool of mockery perhaps if that should happen.”

She moves slowly to her room set out to open the door forcibly but the second thought that her last bucket is at the back of the door, she takes a paused and a deep breath then she opens the door so slowly and…

"Isn't that jerk ought to have woken up by now? Cos am scared, maybe I should call the police. It's been three days, and he is still sleeping like a log of Wood."

“I'm going to check on him if he doesn't wake up this instant. I will have to find something to do about that, but first, let me go to the kitchen.”

Meyer open his eyes so slowly, aissh his eyes hurt, he couldn't remember anything that happen “where was he?”was the first question that popped into his head

He heard footsteps moving closer to the door, and he quickly faked sleep.

Irene entered and paused looking at him. What if this person is a zombie or something else, or a criminal cos there was blood all over him, and he is on the run, and he was caught wouldn't that make me an accomplice and I will be sentenced to jail for a crime I didn't commit?

“Hey! Drama up, I know you are awake. You don't want to go home, nor do you want to be of any assistance here. It is better you wake up before I count to ten, or else I break your head with this pestle.”

One!

Two!

Three!

Four!

Five!

Six, seven, she moves closer to him eight, nine she raises her hands up and then Myer sprang up in fear “don't kill me”

“Why are you acting like a lady?” Irene says and smirks, she holds him down, okay just relax, I am not a killer. I should be the one to tell you not to kill me, you know you are a man and am a lady.

“And ladies are the weakest vessel”

Okay he nodded his head slowly and hit her hands off her “don't touch me, don't you have any shame, you want to seduce me!”

“ What?” Irene scream so silently

“Now get out of my room, he says to her and get me some coffee.”

“I want it mixed with creamy milk, no sugar, chocolate flavour.”
