MALEFICE

Carlotta was waiting for Lucy, her best friend who was 7 years and older than her, today they were supposed to play dress up.

She was gone for a few days. So they had no "girl time" as she calls it. People say they look like sisters, but Carlotta can't see it, but they act like sisters.

“Carlotta sweetie Lucy is here, come to the living room." Mom told her as she was about to go to her room.

"I'm coming mom," Carlotta yelled as she ran down the stairs. They played for hours until it was time for Lucy and her parents to leave. That's when everything started happening.

They heard people screaming, so they went down to see what was going on. Carlotta wished they hadn't seen them; what they saw was not pleasant. The pack members lay on the floor in pools of blood.

"RUN! RUN!!" They heard from someone who was lying on the floor. He looked in a lot of pain, so Carlotta ran over to him.

"Are you okay?" Carlotta asked him.

"Run and don't look back. We're being attacked by villains. Now go!" he told them.

Carlotta ran back to Lucy, grabbed her hand and ran out of the house. What they saw when they came out was a horror. People lay dead or near death all over the back of the pack.

Lucy was frozen in place so Carlotta had to pull away to get them somewhere safe. Carlotta didn't see her mom and dad anywhere, so she ran into the forest. She knew a place where they would be safe, mommy and daddy would find them there when this was over. They ran through the forest, being careful not to be seen by the robbers. They ran until they were close to the shelter they had made for themselves.

"Where are we going? We need help-" Lucy kept asking Carlotta.

"No, Mom and Dad wouldn't like that. They told me if that ever happened, I'd go to my hideout where they'd find me when it was all over." Carlotta told her.

"But we can't just let everyone die. WE HAVE TO HELP!" Lucy said to Carlotta.

Carlotta was about to answer her when she heard voices and her curiosity got the best of her, but so did Lucy. They both ran to where the voices were coming from but made sure to stay hidden. When they got to where the voices were coming from, they saw the alpha with his parents in front of a group of what appeared to be red.

One of the villains had a pregnant Luna by the neck next to what appeared to be their leader. The alpha looked very mad, as did Carlotta's father and Lucy's. Behind them stood their mothers and some other warriors who were with them. Everyone was afraid of losing their Luna, as were Lucy and Carlotta.

They have already hurt them so much, why are they doing this? what did they want No one spoke; they just growled at each other and looked like they were ready to fight each other.

Of course they were outnumbered since they killed everyone else, Carlotta assumed. Her suspicions were confirmed when a man came out of the forest and into a clearing from the opposite direction where Lucy and Carlotta were.

“They're all dead, but we still can't find what we came for, we've been looking, it's nowhere to be found." The men told the leader, but what caught her attention was the way the alpha looked at Carlotta Dad.

"She's safe; she'd hide. They'll never find her," Carlotta's mother whispered to her father and alpha.

No one but the alphas and their fathers seemed to hear her. All Carlotta could think of was who they were talking about, where were they safe? Carlotta hoped for them because these people look bad. The gruff leader looked mad and said to their alpha, "Give us the girl and what's left of this poor pack can live and I'll give you back your Luna."

The alpha growled and replied, "You'll never get that girl; we don't even know where she is. So how do you expect to find her? Now give me back MY GIRL before I kill you." The leader just laughed and then did something they didn't expect him to do.

He killed Luna.

The alpha howled so loudly they had to cover their ears. He lost not only his partner, but also his unborn puppy. The roughnecks just laughed as they saw their pack sense their Luna's death. The leader then spoke and said, "I warned you, all of this could have been avoided if you had just given me the girl. But you didn't listen, so now you have lost your mate and Luna."

After he finished speaking, the alpha stood up and said, "You will NEVER get that girl and you will pay for killing my mate." When he was done, he charged at the rogue leader and began to fight first in human form, then they shifted into their wolves.

When both sides saw this, they took it as a sign to attack each other. Carlotta was scared and it took a lot of strength not to run over there to mommy and daddy. Lucy grabbed her and held her as if she knew what she was thinking. She was happy to be holding Carlotta, but confused because she was the one who told her she had to help their pack and she knew she was the one holding her back.

They saw the whole fight and at one point she had to hold Lucy back, all she heard her say was, "no mom, dad no!!" and then she covered her mouth to stop the scream that threatened to come out.

Tears flowed from her eyes.

Carlotta looked where she was looking to see her mother and father on the ground dead and two other wolves standing over them. Carlotta didn't know what to say to her; she just says her mom and dad were killed.
