Given a second chance at living, all Sia wanted is to get back at the people who hurt her. However, her very own mate was the one who had hurt her the most. Would Sia ignore the mating bond and take her revenge.
CHAPTER ONE.
FEBRUARY 14, 2019.
Thunderclaps resounded outside the Crescent pack.
Raindrops splattered on the window.
Inside the pack house, two arguing voices could be heard.
"No, Xavier. You can't! You can't leave me in this manner!" Sia yelled as she gripped the shoulders of the young man in front of her.
"Are you going to stop me? Do you have any right to?" The young man whom she referred to as Xavier asked, his face a mask of menace.
"I'm not stopping you. But, you can't just leave us-"
"Us? What business do I have with your child? And you?" Xavier pushed her hands away, and turned his back on her.
"Don't tell me you are denying your child, your own flesh and blood, Xavier?" Sia forced out the words as her heart clenched in pain.
She held the hem of her dress tightly, in an effort to stop herself from running over to hug him.
"My flesh and blood? Stop being ridiculous, Sia! The child in your belly is a bastard, and I won't allow you pin the responsibility on me!" Xavier spat out the venomous words which stabbed right into Sia's heart.
She fell to the floor weakly, and gazed at his back view.
How could he say such mean things to her? Did he even care about her at all?
Sia chuckled in self mockery. It was ridiculous, how he could say such hateful words without blinking his eyes at all.
Who was the man in front of her? He was definitely not her Xavier... He wasn't the one she had grown up with... Not her childhood playmate, and definitely not her very own mate...
She felt a heavy weight on her chest blocking her breathing vassals. She closed her eyes in pain.
"Abort it." He commanded after being silent for a while.
She raised her head sharply, and forced herself up. Was he out of his mind?!
"What did you just say, Xavier?" She walked closer to him with slow steps.
With each step she took, she wished he would turn around, and tell her he was joking.
But he didn't... He remained stoutly in his position with his broad shoulders in place.
She walked right to his front, and raised her tear filled eyes to look at him.
"I should abort our child? Really and truly?! Are you even human, Xavier?!" Sia thundered at him.
His words were like an exploding bomb to her ears. Did he know the implications of his words?
Was he out of his freaking mind?!!
"You must be stupid, Sia. No, very dumb I guess." Xavier narrowed his eyes, not minding the tears that was cascading down her cheeks.
He wasn't in anyway moved... He felt disgusted even.
"Stupid? How dare you say that to your mate?" Sia raised her head in disbelief as she forced back the tears that was threatening to spill through her eyes.
She couldn't continue crying... She was more than that.
Seeing her cry would only give him the satisfaction he craved.
He flared up at her words.
'Pak!!!'
The loud slap resounded across the living room. It was unexpected, and Sia wasn't ready for it.
Her hands flew to her cheeks in disbelief.
"Did you just slap me, Xavier?" Her voice was hoarse as the tears she had been forcing back flowed down freely without hitch.
That was the first time he had raised his hands on her. The first time!
"Oh, spare me that pitiful look. I would add more slaps if you dare call me your mate. I am not your mate! Can't you get that into your dumb head?"
Sia remained mute as she listened to the outbursts of the man she had come to love and adore. As she listened to the man she admired and looked up to.
But she was sure the man standing in front of her was a stranger. Yes, he was...
She knelt down and gazed around the living room with a lifeless gaze. Was this really happening to her?
No, maybe she was having a nightmare.
"Ouch!" She yelped as she pinched herself. Feeling the pain on her hand, she no longer had doubts. She wasn't having a nightmare. Her mate had rejected her, and her baby.
"I've told you, abort the child Sia. I'm an Alpha of a pack I can't raise a bastard! Besides, you aren't even my mate. I'm giving you this advice, considering the fact that we were childhood mates." Xavier knelt down to gaze directly into her eyes.
Sia averted her gaze. She knew he was going to taunt her further if she continued looking at him.
"Don't you know the consequence of your actions? Of your advice even?" Sia choked out, as the pain in her chest mounted.
She felt as if blood filled her mouth, and she desperately wanted to spit at his face.
He was a bastard!
"Language, Sia." Xavier growled.
"And don't you wonder why you can listen to my thoughts, even though I'm not your mate, as you just claimed?" Sia asked him, as she pushed back a lock of her hair weakly.
"That isn't a big deal. Abort the child, or ask Christian for help." Xavier whispered close to her ears, and slowly stood up, looking down at her hair, like an emperor would do his subjects.
"Christian? Is this what this is all about, Xavier?" Sia raised her head to look at his face. His lips were curved as he smirked.
"Don't say my name in that manner. It disgusts me...It is Alpha Xavier to you." He said and turned to leave.
His hands were already on the door knob, when her words stopped him.
"Aren't you afraid the Moon goddess will punish you?" Sia forced the words out of her mouth. She couldn't help but grab at the last chance she could get at convincing him.
Reminding him of the Moon goddess...
"The Moon goddess? Be afraid she will punish you instead." With that he walked out the pack house, without as much as sparing a glance at her.
