Falling for the locked up Alpha Chapter 1 Her Narrow Escape

The kingdom, the Alphaeus pack....silent like a graveyard. "Lucius, you can't run away from your duties." Alpha Goan said, looking straight at his son in the eye, he didn't understand why his son has bluntly refused to succeed him.

Prince Lucius scoffed, ruffling his hair roughly, "I've told you father, I don't wanna be Alpha." He replied coldly, refusing to accept the Alpha title,

His mother, Luna Howell sighed softly and tiredly. "Lucius, please listen to your father. It's not just a title that can be given to anybody, it runs in the blood for generations." She coaxed him,

He wasn't even listening as he stuck his hands into his pockets. "Please, son." She begged him as there was no one except him as their son to take up the next Alpha position,

He scoffed again, glaring at his father. "Father, I've said it that I don't wanna be Alpha." He replied sharply, refusing to accept his mother's pleas and coaxing, not even his father's convincement,

The Alpha stood up immediately. "You will do my bidding as long as I am your father!" He said sternly, Prince Lucius rolled his eyes and walked out of the room. "Freedma, give me my mask." He instructed,

The young black with white striped haired man hurriedly came to him and handed him a gold mask which he took, he hcovered his face Immediately.

IN THE DONNER'S PACK ✓

Princess Reda, the second Princess and Luna Disella, her mother, the second Queen, were sitting beside Luna Iritt, the baby Queen, "Please, eat my queen." Princess Reda opened the plate on the table.

Luna Iritt just kept nodding her head like she was rocking a baby as she sighed every now and then, her mind and head was filled with different thoughts,

Luna Disella tried too but it all proved abortive as she refused to eat, her eyes were all red and swollen - they didn't know how they were going to convince her to eat, after three days.

They both sighed, Princess Faricenda, her daughter, also shared her stubbornness from her mother's blood but they couldn't blame her too as her only child was locked up in the death room.

IN THE DUNGEON✓

The second day in the dungeon and it looked like life has been drawn fully out of her as she coughed out blood - The second day punishment was the draining of internal energy from the supernatural; vampires, werewolves, witches, any supernatural at all.

The punishment was worse since she wasn't supernatural, she was not a werewolf. "Arhhhhhh!...." The pain was too much as her body burned greatly as if it were on fire - internal heat.

She fell on her face for the ninth time since the change of punishment began. Her eyes were all red from crying and not having enough sleep, damn Alpha Sahin for this!

But she wasn't going to give up, she walked to the gate. It was almost midnight now and she could feel her body changing, another day for another punishment.

Tomorrow might be her death day, she has to escape but how can she when shackles and iron bars are debarring her? - It's been three days since she had last seen the bright sun, her body itched for a good bath, she was with no food and no water, her body shook greatly due to weakness and tiredness.

Her eyes were threatening to close but she couldn't sleep as another punishment was waiting for her, just for her to open the door to it.

Her mind wandered off to her mother, how was she faring? Tears dropped out of her eyes in tiny drops, tired of crying every single time.

Reda and her friends, they will all be worried sick about her now but what could she do? It just seemed like death was already planned for her on this day - The scenario of the transformation ceremony suddenly began to play in her head as she remembered every devastating thing that happened that night.

Her teeth grinded together in hatred and anger, she was angry at everyone especially her father, woe to you Alpha Sahin!

Her eyes were flickering slowly into a blue golden one and she wasn't aware that she had gripped the iron bars which Dama held hours ago that caused her injuries.

She was so angry, hatred burning inside of her just by thinking about when her father ordered for her to be thrown into the upper room, the darkest dungeon.

She suddenly screamed; fear of death, frustration, anger, pain, flames of hatred burning inside of her and even wanting to consume her.

She couldn't take all the emotions that were running through her veins, her blood boiled for revenge! She tore the hem of her long gown and it turned into a very short one.

Her head was hot and blank from thinking, her eyes were red from crying, her body ached for food and sleep. Her father was so wicked to have left her here for three days straight without food, water or sleep.

She thought that after she had used up a day, he would order them to take her out but he didn't. If he could do this to his own daughter, his blood then how would he treat outsiders?

She was still holding the bars of iron but something was different. Her lips were very dry and her throat ached for something, something different but sweet.

Her eyes maintained the blue gold color, filled with hunger for blood! Suddenly, she screamed, her body started shaking vigorously that she found it hard to control or resist it.

She didn't know she was growling, biting her lips in the process as she bent her head to the bars, screaming so loud holding the bars with all her might as a support, it seemed.

The gates were shrinking together as if being folded by a giant man with hefty powers but she couldn't feel any pain, neither from the electric shock the iron gave or the pain from the silver that was laced on it.

She smirked when she succeeded in folding it as it made a very big hole and she bent, coming out from the shackles.

She was becoming very weak, weaker than she had ever been. She crawled towards the opposite way that led to the outside of the palace as she could hear the sound of the footsteps of the bodyguards.

She dragged herself up with that last strength in her as she approached the palace gates. She gasped when she saw so many bodyguards at the gate but smiled when she sighted a maid, one of which liked to bathe her.

The maid was sweeping the garden, she felt bad for her as it was midnight and she was still working, she'll still wake up by 4am in the morning to start another round of chores.

She dragged the maid to a corner when she was sure none of the guards were looking. She covered her mouth tightly when the maid tried to scream, "Hushh!!!!" Princess Faricenda shook her head covering her mouth. "My princess?" The maid whimpered. "It's me, Hanna!" The Princess smiled weakly.

Hanna began to cry like a baby and Princess Faricenda hushed her to stop crying. "How did...did you...?" Hanna wanted to ask. "I don't know it myself, it's a long story." She replied.

"Thank goodness, people thought you would have died in the dungeon but now, you are alive, the Queen will be very happy to see you." Hanna said, "I need to get out of here." She heaved a sigh. "But how? Your mother needs you." Hanna says. "I know, I know." Princess Faricenda's face went dull upon mentioning her mother, the Queen didnt deserve it.

Princess Faricenda shook her head and gripped Hanna's shoulder fiercely. "I don't....have the time now! The guards will soon find out that I have escaped and my life will be at stake when it involves King Sahin." She grinded her teeth.

Hanna nodded sadly, feeling sorry for the Princess. She looked so weak, tired and hungry and her...eyes! "I need you to help me eradicate those guards." Princsss Faricenda cut her thoughts off.

Hanna looked back and shuddered. "How? There are so many of them!" She whimpered. "Remember you told me about learning herbs?" She asked and Hanna nodded.

"I need you to remember and search your room, there would be a sleeping herb in which when they inhale it, they will sleep off." She smiled and Hanna nodded quickly.

Princess Faricenda sighed in relief. "Sneak into your room and help me get it just like you sneak into my room to take food." She said and Hanna gasped covering her mouth, "I'm sorry for stealing, I thought you were asleep." She apologized. "Never mind, I'd never add to people's hunger so it's nothing." Princess Faricenda smiled and Hanna nodded.

Hanna rushed out of the place and when a guard wanted to look, she hid again. She did the same thing till she entered her room. She quickly picked the leaves and mashed it together in a small mortar till it became dust, she poured it into a small container. "Done!" She whispered when she got back to the Princess.

Princess Faricenda peeped and smiled in satisfaction seeing all of the guards at the entrance of the gate all slept off. "There's a problem my Princess." Hanna said.

"I saw some guards hurrying into the king's chamber and I think they went to inform the king that you are already missing and I searched the sleeping guard's pockets, but I couldn't find the gate keys!" She said,

Princess Faricenda gasped. What to do? What to do? "Don't worry about me, you can go." She said and Hanna felt reluctant, "When I successfully get outside the palace, find me in school after two days. Go!!" Princess Faricenda pushed her, smiling sadly and Hanna cried before she ran away.

The other guards were coming closer to the throne room, the entrance to come out of the palace before the palace gate. It's now or never! Princess Faricenda ran out with her bare legs, her bare shoulder and her scattered hair. A wave of strength running through her veins, she climbed on the palace wall!

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
