SURVIVORS Chapter 1 SURVIVORS

CHAPTER 01

The day started like all the others, the morning was always rushed at Rose's house, who always got up earlier to have a time of prayer, then she read a chapter of a biblical book always scheduled beforehand, she got up from the floor where she was kneeling finishing her conversation with God, but still thinking about her, things weren't easy, even within her own, the world was bad and very expensive and the world seemed to want to steal her family, her peace, her life her. She sat on the couch, that day her heart was more than tight, she felt immense pain along with an inexplicable sadness, she grabbed her bible, it was time to start reading, she couldn't waste time, because time is a valuable currency that never goes back, a coin that always moves forward, I didn't go back and in a world so full of information, she made an effort not to be swallowed by social networks, she went on to read:

"Know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.

For there will be men who are lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to fathers and mothers, ungrateful, profane,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, slanderers, incontinent, cruel, despisers of those that are good,

Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God,

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. From these turn away.

For of this number are those who sneak into houses, and lead captive foolish women laden with sins, led away from various concupiscences;

Who are ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

And as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, being men of corrupt understanding and reprobate concerning the faith.

They will not, however, go forward; for his folly will be manifest to all, as also was theirs.

You, however, have followed my doctrine, way of life, intention, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,

Persecutions and afflictions such as happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, and in Lystra; how many persecutions have I suffered, and the Lord delivered me from them all;

And also all who want to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

But evil men and deceivers will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it,

And that from your childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

That the man of God might be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 TIMOTHY CHAPTER 03

Rose took a deep breath, that word was overwhelming, the news proved that she was already living in that time, such a cruel time where self-love was more important than solidarity and people killed and died to prove how important they were. How many crimes and suicides were reported defending individualism, self-loving people who thought they were more important than the rest of the world, or people who do crazy things for the sake of money, to enjoy their dark and satisfying desires even if just for a moment, bad people scattered everywhere, doing their crazy things, loving themselves above all others, breaking the most important commandment, which was to love God with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, that is, to love to God with everything.

Rose got up embarrassed because that word had moved her a lot, she had been suffering a lot in her marriage, in the hands of her husband, she was exhausted, but she steadied herself in the word of God, placing all her trust in it, and having the full certainty that it was God who engendered this trust in her, he was her sustenance; still the suffering was great, but she waited hopeful for the end of the pain. They had three daughters, two four-year-old twins and the oldest nine years old, it was time to wake them up to go to school, at that time her husband was already in the shower, and the girls who had just woken up were already talking without stop, while they jumped from one side to the other, Marta, the eldest, had gotten ready quickly, she was her mother's friend, her confidant and always left her things tidy a day before so she could help her mother with the moaning.

After a lot of struggle, they were all dressed up and ready to go, her husband Carlos didn't help with those tasks and he was calm in the car, he was the one who took the twins, because school was the way to work, Marta studied in the neighborhood, her school was nearby so she went with her friends, soon the huge house was empty and silent and Rose had little time to get it in order and leave for work.

On the bus again that heart squeeze, she closed her eyes, asked God to keep her family and I started thinking about the word she read.

It was in the morning, thinking about recent times.

The day went on as usual, at lunchtime she sat outside the company, in a park, allowing the sun to warm her skin, it seemed like a caress made by God, a caress with the feeling of love, which she didn't receive for a long time from the people with whom she lived, that feeling was good and real, Rose felt her heart overflow with joy and a peace took her completely, she could stay there for the rest of her life, feeling that wonderful feeling taking over her being, but it was soon gone. interrupted by her coworker who as always was energized talking nonstop and laughing at her own words, Vanusa was a good humored and funny person, Rose really enjoyed her company and the two together had a lot of fun, Vanusa always said they were connected by soul, sisters in Christ Jesus, even though they were so different, they respected each other and enjoyed walking together.

After lunch, both returned to their tasks, happy for the experience Rose had lived at the bank, happy to be employed in such a humane and caring company, from then on life didn't seem bad for Rose, everything seemed prepared by God.

HONEY MULLINS

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I've returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders-the man I was told was a crippled recluse-intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I'd cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent-the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower's security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy-Archibald's secret son-wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald's face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

Landslide

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

Betrayed Bride: Claimed By The Brother

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.

SHANA GRAY

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
