Chapter 1 A Stranger Will Do

Inside the noisy bar, Daisy was seen putting on heavy makeup that will make it hard for anyone to recognize her. She wore a mini short skirt and drank her wine slowly until she started feeling that her eyes were becoming heavy and she was becoming tipsy and that didn't stop her from sipping her drink.

"Daisy, does your old man really want to marry you to Asher Sebastian?" Daisy's best friend Nora asked looking more excited

Asher Sebastian is a legendary figure, among the Sebastian family he represents and owns more than half of the wealth in Warlington city.

He represents, controls the economic lifeline of Warlington city.

With him, he has made his family the most strongest and influential among all citizens and he is also the founder of the popular and big Atlantic International Empire.

"I heard that he is ruthless and cold, he has a temperament issue and his methods are cruel, he is old and ugly, and he is not good at all. Daisy, your marriage is simply a tragedy!" Nora complained bitterly and also felt concerned for her friend.

"It's not a marriage, it's a substitute marriage, he was supposed to be married to Eliana!" Daisy gritted her teeth and drank a glass of cold beer. She felt a chill in her heart and hated her life that she will be getting married as a substitute.

"Daisy I sympathize with you so much. Why don't you find a handsome man to sleep with here? When the Sebastian family sees that you are no longer pure, maybe they will send you back so you can get married to the one you love." Her friend suggested also sipping from her drink.

Daisy tilted her head to the side thinking of her friend's suggestions and she sees It as a good Idea. She is drunk and won't have to remember the gigolo she would get laid with. "Wow! Nora, you are worthy of being the best friend ever, your suggestion is so simple and good I am going to give it a try." Daisy whispers drunkenly looking around the bar for a good guy.

"Hey, are you serious!" Nora exclaimed, before she could stop her friend she had already stood up and walked towards the door.

She doesn't have to search for long before she finally finds a nice target that meets her choice.

A man who looked like a male god walked inside the bar, with a height of more than 185 and 6ft tall he was putting on a white shirt and a black suit, straight and slender legs that makes it easy for him to move, deep green eyes, sexy and attractive thin lips, oozing a noble bearing.

Daisy's heartbeat suddenly when she saw him. This person is so strong, and you will figure that out immediately after you see him except you are blind.

Daisy's heart topples over as she watches the good-looking man walking towards her direction; she almost misses her steps as she walks over to him. She doesn't know why her body is feeling uneasy. It may be due to the semi-God standing before her or as a result of the alcohol reaction in her body.

"Hi, handsome guy, do you have an appointment?" She threw him a smile immediately as she was standing face to face with him.

After Daisy finished speaking, she closed her eyes and waited for the handsome guy to hold her and pulled her closer. But to her greatest surprise he, however, brushed past her as he calmly walked over without sparing her a look.

Daisy was hit hard by his nonchalant attitude the first time they would be meeting. It just failed like this, how can you be around such a person in the future!

Holding the cup of drink in her hand she raised it up and sipped it continuously until her stomach was full and after a while of nausea, she decided to use the restroom.

She stood in front of the toilet and vomited every content in her stomach for so long that she felt like she was about to vomit even her intestines. Alcohol is really good, she thinks and now she feels much more comfortable.

After flushing the water, her sleepy eyes were almost unable to open. She wanted to find a place to wash her face and wipe the sleep away. She must be ugly right now, so she thought. Daisy always dresses herself up beautifully every day, like a little princess, and she lives like a clown.

After washing up she turned to leave when suddenly she stumbled and slammed into something hard more like a wall and she staggered back.

She paused and touched the wall subconsciously, but what she felt was a steady and powerful heartbeat, and she could smell the faint smell of aftershave between his breaths and fanning her face.

She fluttered her eyes and raised her head, she gasped when her eyes met with a pair of deep metallic eyes. This isn't a wall, her inner mind told her. It is clearly a person, a handsome man. The light from the bar was refracted on his well-defined profile face, and his thin lips were tightly pursed with a hint of coldness.

He didn't move away. She watched him pull down his trouser and pee looking down at him Daisy gasped, and the scene in front of her almost suffocated her.

She doesn't know if she was the one that entered the wrong bathroom or him. Before she could walk away a certain majestic pillar appeared in front of her without any cover. Thinking of how handsome he is, her face flushed red, her head dizzy, and she smirked at him: "I'm sorry, I accidentally saw your... your..."

The air froze instantly, as the man's face was terrifyingly and gloomy, he pushed her away and she staggered back, while quickly reaching out to zip his trousers.

She staggered and stood firmly against the wall, her breath was unsteady, she kept panting, her neckline was wide open, and her collarbone was white and attractive.

The man looked at her displeased, she was wearing heavy makeup and wearing revealing clothes, she doesn't look like a decent woman at first glance.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
