CHAPTER 1 • Poison Is Getting Stronger

The sky was cloudy and freezing, the wind screeched throughout the dusk forest, an owl sound roamed around the silent atmosphere, as it was the full of moon night,

The crunches were getting louder and heavier in speed, growls coming from each side and corner of the Tir trees.

His paws hit the ground, strengthening his legs muscles to move forward and faster away from the wolves chasing them, even though he feels fragile, with the poison weakening his energy but his mind was on his mate and pup being safe and shielded from the danger coming close to them.

Caitlin bent and held on to Alpha Caddel's fur, from falling, the wind was blowing through her hair and skin as Caddel was running at a fast speed. She clasped her five-month-old pup to her chest, covering him from the cold wind with her medieval cloak,

She turned and gazed at their back, seeing the wolves a little far away from them. Caitlin looked at her mate, Caddel, her eyes filled with pain and anguish seeing him in this condition of trying to protect her and their pup, it shatters her heart, knowing he is weak but pretend to look strong for their safety, she grasp his fur warmly, to aware him, that she's here and will stood strong with him no matter what happens.

They kept running as fast as they could, just then, Caitlin spotted one wolf that had caught up to them, she was startled and terrified, he was racing beside them at the same speed as Alpha Caddel. The brown and grey wolf jump to catch them.

"Caddel!" Caitlin screamed, shouting out his name in aghast, but Caddel was quick to perceive him already.

Alpha Caddel dodges the attack, and grabs the wolf's neck, spearing his sharp fangs into his throat, as they tumble along the way while Caitlin holds tight to Caddel's fur and their pup, with her face down. He let go of the wolf and his head fell to the snow, decapitated from his body, while Caddel continued running…

Alpha Caddel is a full-blooded Alpha, feared by many kingdoms and adored by his people but not all of them. After the death of his father, he was renowned as the new Alpha king, because of his strong, capable, and courageous power like his late father, he also has a younger brother, Gregory, who he loves dearly.

He married a beautiful vampire, Caitlin, and he announced her as his mate, many people were not happy about their reunion while some learned to accept their relationship, as their destined mates.

Alpha Gregory, has always been jealous of his elder brother, Caddel, and fakes his love towards his elder brother, but in the hidden, he was full of hatred and jealousy toward Caddel, so he pretended to care about his brother and took advantage of Caddel love.

Alpha Caddel's wife, Caitlin, gave birth to a pup son for him, and he named him Raizel, while in those years, his younger brother was plotting and planning on how to kill him, with the help of those close to Alpha Caddel and Luna Caitlin.

On the full moon night, Gregory executed his plan, he gave Caddel, a strong medicine, which he added to his food. The poison will weaken Caddel's wolf and won't let him fight when they attack him but Luna Caitlin had already found out about Gregory's evil plan and rushed to save her mate.

She always doubted Gregory's intention, but because her mate loved his brother dearly, she kept quiet even when one-time Gregory tried to misbehave with her.

When Caddel got to know about his younger brother, his deceit, and how he was using his love, he was shattered into pieces, the brother, who he cared for and put above everything, is now his biggest enemy.

Luna Caitlin took Alpha Caddel and their pup out of the pack house, knowing it was easy for them to be killed and before Gregory could get to them, she went into the cold, dark forest with her family.

Alpha Gregory wasn't fully satisfied and sent his hunters to kill them and bring their dead bodies.

After a long run, Alpha Caddel saw a small hut and took his family there. To make sure it was safe, he used his nostril to smell the area, observing whether it was dangerous or not. When he felt secure, Luna Caitlin came down from his back, with their son.

Alpha Caddel morphed into his human form and fell to the ground with a grunted voice. Caitlin panicked, she used her strength and grabbed him off the ground, putting him on her right shoulder, as they walked toward the hut.

They went inside, it was dark without a light, as they can't see anything but since Caitlin is a vampire, she has the vision to see clearly. She notices two stick-homemade beds, and immediately lays Caddel down gently, puts his legs on the bed, and gazes at him with sadness in her eyes.

She lays her pup on the other bed, beside Caddel, wrapping him well with the comfy duvet he was wearing, but she knows this isn't enough to keep him warm.

Caitlin scours around the place, to see if she can find something to make a fire, she looks outside and gazes at Caddel and her pup. Caitlin sighs and quickly goes out. It was freaky icy and cloudy because of too much cold, which can easily freeze a human being in a matter of seconds.

She picked some branches, leaves, and whatever she could find in the area and quickly go back inside the hut, she used the material she found to make a fire out of them, the place got a little warm, so she blows the fire with her breathe, making the flame go higher to heat up more.

"Ahh… argh!" Caddel grunted. Caitlin twitched and looked terrified, she quickly went to him and stood beside him, she saw he was trembling. Even when the place is warm, maybe the poison is getting stronger.

Caitlin panicked and didn't know what to do. She felt she was going to go nuts, without any idea coming to her mind on how to help her husband…
