Marked by her Alpha Chapter 1 Debt

Danielle scrubbed the last dirt off and heaved a huge sigh of relief, working full time in a diner is the worst job for a young girl like her. She removed the dirty gloves from her tender palms and her clothes too, running the cold shower to wash up her body properly.

She breathed in and out calmly, keeping in mind that she had to make it by seven for her birthday party which her best friend, Freda had organized specially for her. The dress fits her tiny body perfectly, she applied makeup and sprayed her cheap perfume.

Freda is already outside, waiting patiently for her best friend to get ready for their big night out.

"You look stunning, Dani."

"Thanks," she replied.

The truth is that she is nervous about tonight. She has never hung out before, only working her ass off to make ends meet for her and her family. They weren't doing so well financially because they were omega wolves, the lowest and poorest rank of werewolves.

Although, other lucky omega wolves are faring well like Freda's family. She does not have to do menial jobs like me to make money.

"What are you thinking about?" Freda asked, concerned at how absent-minded her friend was.

"Nothing, are you sure that this night will be worth it?" Danielle asked, her nervousness kicking in and taking over her.

Freda chuckled lightly, "Relax, Dani. You are going to be fine and once you taste some wine, you'll feel free."

Danielle nods and relaxes her mind, they arrived at the club few minutes later. Freda held Danielle's hand as she led her inside, the music blasts into their ears as they make their way in. Danielle is in awe at the new environment she is in, young adults are dancing to the loud music while some are making out at hidden corners.

Freda pops a bottle of wine and cheers excitedly, "Happy eighteenth birthday, Dani!"

She pours the wine in two glasses and hands Danielle one glass to take. The latter gulps it down, her face contorting in disgust when the burning taste of alcohol swirls down her throat.

" It is good, isn't it?" Freda yells.

Danielle can only nod as she takes another shot of wine, this time around she smiles in satisfaction and begins to move her body to the music. The wine made her to feel good and for once, she forgets about the miseries that are going on in her life.

"This is good, Freda. I think I will be doing this often!" she yells back.

Danielle is grateful that she has found her mate when she was sixteen, this gives her less worry about transforming into a werewolf this night. Her cellphone vibrate in her bag, she picks it immediately she sees that it's her parents.

"Mom, Dad, I can't hear you!" Danielle scream over the phone, she is holding the urge not to hang up and continue her party but the voice at the background changes her mind rapidly.

"You better come back home or your parents is as good as dead," a deep voice growls.

Danielle quickly alert Freda about this who begins to panic at what she hears.

"You need to take me, please...." Danielle pleads.

Freda agrees and they rush out of the club. Luckily for them, the car belongs to Freda she drives as roughly as she can handle to my house.

"Let me follow you inside," Freda offers but Danielle objects.

"It's not safe for both of us to go in there at once, just go home."

"Stay safe, Dani," Freda says and I wave her goodbye as she drives off.

My parents are already tied up when I enter inside, my father's face is purple and swollen and I understand instantly that he must have been beaten severely.

"Who the hell are you guys?" Danielle asks them boldly.

They laugh and approach her in a haughty manner, Danielle takes a few steps backward in fear.

"You should be asking your parents who we are, little girl. We'll be taking our leave now but have it in mind that we will return at the end of the week for our money."

Money? Danielle looks at her parents dumbly while the men leave.

"Danielle..."

"What are these men talking about, mom?"

Her mother, Ellen, is already filled with tears while her father, Anton, is struggling to get up.

"We will tell you but promise not to freak out," Ellen said.

Danielle has no other option than to accept to keep her cool.

"We didn't want to tell you because we thought that you'll be mad at us. At the time that completing your high school became difficult, your father borrowed three hundred thousand dollars from a man called Ezekiel Williams. We sorted out your school bills and used the rest to start a business but it crumbled in a flash, the money is gone with no way to pay back," Ellen explained.

Danielle slumps on the couch, she realizes that the situation is not something simple. The man wants his money back and her parents do not have it. Seeing the manner in which her father was beaten up, Danielle knew instantly that this man must be powerful but aside from that, she needed to do something about his money.

"Mom, how do I meet this man? I want to talk to him so he can give us more time to figure this out."

Ellen shakes her head, "Danielle, Ezekiel Williams is a dangerous man to deal with. You can't mess with him like that, leave the situation to us."

Danielle bursts into tears, it's obvious that this man will kill her parents by the end of the week if they don't provide his money. She has to do something about it, maybe she should try to raise half of the money as first installment.

She looks at her father, he is breathing in and out heavily with bruises all over his body. Her eyes glimmer with determination to help her parents out and save their lives.

She can do it!

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I’ve returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders—the man I was told was a crippled recluse—intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I’d cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent—the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower’s security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy—Archibald’s secret son—wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald’s face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

I was the titan of Wall Street until an indictment and an ankle monitor turned my penthouse into a gilded cage. To save face, I was forced into a marriage with Elza, a "mute" girl from the Schmidt family whom I treated as nothing more than a silent piece of furniture while my empire crumbled. The night I was poisoned at a high-society gala, a mysterious server in an oversized uniform saved my life with terrifying, clinical precision. They disappeared into the night, leaving me with a silver cufflink and a burning obsession to find the shadow who held my life in their hands. Back home, I took my frustration out on Elza, telling her she was "exhausting to look at" and "smelled like sickness" after her charity visits. Her own family treated her like a stray dog, trying to humiliate her at the next gala by dressing her in what they claimed was a cheap knockoff while whispering to the press that she was nothing but a high-end escort. "Stay out of my way," I would growl at her, never noticing the steel in her eyes. I sat at my table, watching my rivals' stocks plummet and wondering who "The Zero"—the legendary financial ghost—really was. I never suspected that the woman I ignored was the same one solving the equations that were currently burning Manhattan to the ground. The injustice peaked when Elza stood before the city's elite, not as a victim, but as a queen. She dropped over a hundred million dollars to buy back her family’s legacy, revealing a secret fortune that made my own empire look like pocket change. As I grabbed her wrist and saw the small red mole hidden beneath her watch, the truth hit me like a physical blow. The silent wife I had despised was the savior I had been hunting, and she was finally done playing the victim. "We have a lot to talk about, wife," I whispered, realizing I had been sleeping next to the most dangerous woman in the world.
