IN LOVE WITH MY KIDNAPPER Chapter 1 Spoilt

Chapter 1- Spoilt

"How much is in total?", Ruby Birschoff questioned the attendant.

"That's going to be three hundred and fifty thousand, six hundred and-"

"That's enough! I don't need details. Here, take my card", she cut her off rudely and whipped out her card, and flung it at the young attendant.

She was soon through with the transaction, and she walked out of the boutique.

She was hoping for a dramatic exit, but she bumped into a tall young man dressed in all black, causing all the bags to crash to the ground.

"Hey! Watch where you're going...", her voice trailed, as she looked up at the man, and was smitten by his charming looks.

He had the darkest blue eyes she'd ever seen, and his jawline, jet-black hair and well-defined physique almost caused Ruby to drool over him.

But there was something different about him.

He didn't just look extremely handsome, he also managed to look rugged at the same time.

He didn't break a smile, and he seemed to possess an aura of mystery that hung in the air around him. He looked like someone that shouldn't be played with.

With an intense gaze, he locked eyes with her for a second, and she almost choked on her own breath. She felt the time come to a standstill. But surprisingly, he didn't help her with the bags that fell down. He only took a quick glance at them and turned, continuing his journey to wherever he was going.

It wasn't until he left that Ruby managed to find her tongue.

"All these pretty faced good-for-nothings. The least he could do was to help me with the bag he fell", she muttered a little bit pissed as she picked up the bags and went to the car.

*******

"Where did you say she went to, Ruth?", Mr. Lawrence Birschoff asked, obviously getting pissed, as he stared at his sliver Louis Moinet Meteorois wristwatch for the upteenth time.

"Umm... She said she just went out to... To buy a few things... Yes! She said she wanted to go shopping", Ruth replied immediately.

Ruth wiped away the small beads of sweat that was forming on her forehead.

"You've been telling me that for the past four hours, Ruth! Didn't she tell you where she was getting the things?! What's the name of the shop?! What's the name of the street?! Is there anymore specific information other than the fact that she went out to get some things?!!", Mr. Lawrence questioned, in anger.

"N... No sir. But, I know sh... She would soon b... Be back", she said and she stared right down on her shoes. She dared not stare into the eyes of her raging boss.

"How do... What do you mean...", Mr. Lawrence sighed in frustration as he couldn't even get sentences out of his mouth.

"Pray nothing happens to my daughter. Just pray...", He said and turned around, his phone to his ear again to try and reach his daughter.

Ruth was the nanny to Mr. Lawrence's only daughter, Ruby. She had been taking care of Ruby like she was her own child she was she was little, as her mother died when she was very young. In fact, Ruth saw Ruby as her own daughter. Ruth was an old woman now, and his daughter was a grown lady, but Mr. Lawrence still made her watch over Ruby and take care of her.

However, Ruby had been getting out of hand, especially recently.

Ruby was almost impossible to control. She was only twenty-four, but behaved like she needed no one to tell her what to do, because her father - Mr. Laurence - was very wealthy. She was one who "loved to live to the fullest", as the new generation would like to put it. What was there to expect from the only child of the owner of a multi-million dollar industry?

Unfortunately, Ruby's exploration and lifestyle was about to cost Ruth her job - and probably her life...

Early this morning, Ruby had gone out, telling Ruth that she was going to get a few things. Ruth was quite surprised, because Ruby would've sent one of her maids to go get whatever she needed. She was getting getting old, but she wasn't getting stupid. Still, Ruth decided to believe her and let her go. It wasn't like she could possibly hold her down or stop her from going to "get a few things".

Apparently, she was about to face the consequences.

It was currently thirty minutes past five. The sun was slowly finding it's way below the earth for the moon to take over, and Ruby hadn't come back from where was going.

Mr. Lawrence was already getting worked up. Despite the fact that Ruby was very stubborn, he loved her very much and would have Ruth's head if anything happened to his daughter.

Mr. Lawrence was used to Ruby's lifestyle. He did caution her whenever she ended up doing too much, but she was his only child. He couldn't resist cutting her some slack here and there. He wouldn't deny the fact that he spoilt her effortlessly, but she sometimes, she took it for granted and acted recklessly - which had been the case of recent.

He knew that Ruby took a lot of hours outside with her friends and at parties, but getting a few things was not enough reason to be outside all day, without telling anyone where exactly she was going.

Once again, her number was unreachable. He threw the phone to the sofa he was previously sitting on, and began massaging his head, trying to calm his nerves down.

He knew within him that it wasn't right of him to transfer his frustration to his daughter's nanny.

Ruth had been working for him for over two decades, and this kind of situation hadn't occured before. Besides, there was no possible way on telling Ruby not to go out. Even he found it hard doing that. But he could not afford to allow her make mistakes like this.

He tried to reach Ruby on the phone over and over. After phoning her for the seventh time without getting an answer, he concluded that trying again was useless.

"Stay here. I'm going to search for her", he told Ruth as he headed for the door.

"Now? But... W.. why don't you-"

Mr. Lawrence turned sharply and gave her a menacing glare, letting her know that he wasn't asking for suggestions, and if any at all, definitely not hers.

And she got the message immediately.

He turned to the door and headed for it.

He grabbed the knob, and swerved the door, to see his daughter standing in front of the door.

"Ruby?!", He called in shock.

Ruth's eye lit up immediately at the call of her name and was relieved when she saw her father at the door.

She had her hands full with a lot of different bags that had brands on them, so she wasn't lying when she said she went shopping. Only that, it didn't seem to be the only place she spent some time at.

Beside her was a young man in his mid-twenties, chewing on some bubble gum like a shameless prostitute.

What was funny about him was that despite the fact that every piece of clothing he had on himself was designers, he still looked unkempt. He looked like a rich junkie.

"Hiii, pops!", She beamed in excitement as she walked into the house.

Trailing right behind her was the young man. The bubble gum didn't help get rid of the reeking smell of weed and alcohol.

Mr. Lawrence wasn't wrong after all...

"Who's this?", He questioned, staring at the lad.

"Oh, he's my friend. We spent some time together outside, and he wanted to come see my house before we parted ways", she explained with a grin.

"Hey guys", the lad said casually.

He turned to Mr. Lawrence...

"Sup, dude?"

That was it.

"Get out! Get out of my house, now!!", Mr. Lawrence ordered, pointing at the door.

"But daddy-"

"Young man, get out of my house while your two legs are still able to carry the rest of your weight! Don't make me do something I'll regret!!!", He yelled at the lad.

The young man simply shrugged in response and casually walked out of his house.

Mr. Lawrence instantly regretted letting him leave. He wished he'd beaten him up and watched him crawl out of the house.

"Daddy!! What the hell?!! Why would send my friend out of the house like that-"

"Where have you been young lady?!!!", He cut her off immediately.

"I told Ruth that I was going to shop for a few things! Didn't she tell you-"

"You didn't just go to buy a few things, Ruby!! I'm not a baby!! I'm your father!! Nobody goes to buy a few things for almost eight hours!! Where did you go?!!", He queried in rage.

"S... So what if I branched somewhere to see a few people??! Is there anything wrong with that?!!", She retorted.

"You cannot just go out without giving anyone information about your whereabouts, for crying out loud!! Why would you just be gone all day without telling anyone where you are, or at least answering phone, only to come back with a spoilt, weird-ass looking, reeking boy!! What if something bad happened to you?!! How would we be able to track you?!!"

"First of all, don't speak about my friend like that!! Secondly, I'm not a fucking baby, sir!! Stop treating me like one!!! I'm twenty-four for fuck's sake!! I don't know what gives you the right to think that you can control me like fucking teenager-"

"I will not have you speak to me in such tone or manner, young lady!!! You will not speak to me like that ever again!!!! Am I understood?!!!", He yelled at her in a thunderous tone.

Ruby could see that her father was fuming red with rage, but that did not faze her. She took a sharp turn and stormed away to the stairs.

"Hey, Ruby!!! Come back here, right now!! You do not walk out on me while I'm still talking!!! Ruby!!! Ru..."

There was no use. She was already out of sight.

"Don't worry sir, I'll take care of it", Ruth - who had been silent but in on the conversation all the while - finally said and followed Ruby immediately.

Secret Triplets: The Billionaire's Second Chance

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The Silent Bride's Billion Dollar Contract

The Silent Bride's Billion Dollar Contract

Landslide

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

Madel Cerda

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

No Longer Mrs. Cooley: The Architect's Return

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Burned by Poison, Saved by the Devil

Burned by Poison, Saved by the Devil

Gale Kaaya

My cousin Hailey paid a dock worker to assault me just to ruin my engagement. To survive the military-grade aphrodisiac she poisoned me with, I stumbled into a walk-in freezer and threw myself onto the only source of cold I could find-a man paralyzed by unnatural hypothermia. It was a desperate, primal exchange of my heat for his ice just to keep my heart from stopping. But when Hailey threw open the heavy iron door, leading my fiancé and the entire Bolton family to witness my "shame," her triumphant grin instantly vanished. She hadn't caught me with a low-life thug. She had caught me straddling Demetrius Maddox, the ruthless Iron King of Chicago. The air in the room dropped to absolute zero. My grandmother screamed in horror, and my father turned the color of ash. Hailey, blinded by jealousy, tried to double down. She pointed a manicured finger at the deadliest man in the city and called him a "nameless muscle" I picked up to defile the family name. She didn't realize she had just signed her own death warrant. I didn't cower. I realized this was the only chance to survive the family that wanted me dead. I walked up to the Devil himself, my body still humming with the poison, and looked him in the eye. "Kill me, and the cold inside you wins," I whispered, knowing he was dying from the inverse of my own poison. "I am the only doctor who knows how to cure you." Demetrius tightened his hand around my throat, his dark eyes assessing my worth. "Prove it," he growled. I turned back to my trembling cousin and signaled the enforcer to hand me the whip.

Neglected Wife: Hidden Heiress's Cold Revenge

Neglected Wife: Hidden Heiress's Cold Revenge

Da Lanlan

I stood in the pouring rain at my father-in-law's funeral, the heels of my black pumps sinking into the mud. I was Mrs. Vargas, the wife of New York's most powerful billionaire, yet I was standing at the edge of the crowd like a forgotten statue. Ten feet away, under the dry shelter of the family tent, my husband Hayes held another woman against his chest. It wasn't me he was whispering comfort to; it was Felicity, his late brother's widow and childhood sweetheart. The humiliation didn't end at the cemetery. Hayes moved Felicity and her son into our home, relegating me to the guest wing while she took over the primary suites. He watched silently as her son smashed the only photograph of my deceased parents, then demanded I apologize for "scaring" the boy with my reaction. When Felicity's negligence ruined a twelve-million-dollar family heirloom, Hayes had the audacity to ask me to use my own savings to buy her a "consolation" engagement ring. He treated me like a parasite, never realizing I was a brilliant scientist with a hidden fortune and three patents to my name. I realized then that our three-year marriage was a hollow farce. Hayes had never even touched me, claiming he wanted to "remain pure" for his memory of Felicity. I was nothing more than a business merger, a smudge on the lens of the perfect family portrait he was building with another man's widow. The breaking point came during a lethal blizzard. Hayes promised to accompany me to my family's mandatory gala-a tradition where my absence meant a death sentence. But at the last second, he stood me up to stay home and tend to Felicity's stubbed toe. Left alone to face the wrath of the Santos Matriarch, I was forced to kneel in the freezing snow as punishment until my lungs began to fail and my vision blurred. Just as the darkness started to take me, a black Maybach smashed through the iron gates. My exiled brother, the man the world calls "The Wolf," stepped out of the storm to reclaim what Hayes had discarded. Hayes thought I was a helpless doll who couldn't survive a day without his trust fund, but he's about to find out what happens when you let a Santos daughter freeze.
