Warning: 18+ Dark Romance "Dont let me use the spare key Orlanda, or you are gonna be doomed," he uttered coldly and now, she could sense he was more than pissed. The air felt thick, charged with the tension between them, as if the walls themselves were holding their breath. She braced herself, knowing fully well that this small act of defiance would not go unpunished. But for now, she had locked him out, and for the first time since being his prisoner, she felt the slightest taste of freedom. "Do your worst! I'm not scared of you," she yelled. ~~~~~ Orlanda never asked for Carlson Jacobi's help, but when the ruthless gangster saved her months ago, he demanded repayment; betray his stepbrother, or warm his bed. She swore she would never surrender herself to such a man, and so she chose betrayal. But when her plan failed, Oswald Dino Escobar, the billionaire she worked for, and Carlson's greatest enemy, made her pay the ultimate price. He bought her from her family, not as a servant, but as his property. His possession. His punishment. His little pumpkin! Oswald was a man who had once loved and lost Sophia Lawn, the woman who shattered him, the woman whose death turned him into a beast. And when Orlanda entered his world, he saw in her a vessel, a shadow of what he lost. But the deeper she was pulled into his dark empire, the more secrets surfaced. Secrets that could ruin them both... or bind them forever.

The Ruthless Billionaire's Property Chapter 1 Excerpt

OSWALD'S presence was oppressive, and it felt like the walls had shrunk. He took a step forward, standing directly in front of her now, looking down at her with an expression devoid of emotion. His hands quickly went behind his back.

"Listen carefully," he began, his voice low and deliberate, "there are rules and regulations I have gotten for you, laid down rules," she gasped, "you are going to follow every one of them, obey every one of them."

Orlanda's heart sank as his words came, each one more terrifying than the last. He continued in a cold, measured tone:

"First rule, you don't leave this room unless I tell you to. Never ever."

"Second rule, you don't make a noise, no sounds, no talking, no screaming. No one should ever know you are in here. You stay quiet at all times."

She blinked, fear settling deeper in her chest.

"Third rule, if I give you an order, you follow it without question. You do not ask why and you do not hesitate."

Her stomach churned. The rules weren't just harsh, they were dehumanizing, the commands of a master over a slave.

"Fourth rule, you don't touch anything that belongs to me anymore. Not in this room, not anywhere in the house, keep your hands to yourself."

Orlanda's lips parted slightly, her mind struggling to keep up with the onslaught of rules.

"Fifth rule, you will only speak when spoken to, and you will address me as 'Master' at all times."

Her eyes widened in shock. Seriously?

"Yes," he continued, "sixth rule, you will eat, sleep, and move only when I allow it. You don't make decisions for yourself, I do."

"Seventh rule, you are not allowed to interact with anyone else unless I give you the go ahead. Well of course, you wouldn't be interacting with anyone," he said as he used his right hand to circle around his left wrist.

"Eight rule, although this rule won't be understandable to you now but just note it down, you will always be available when I need you, no matter the time or circumstance. In due course, you will understand."

"Ninth rule, you are forbidden from showing any emotion unless I permit it."

Orlanda was now at a loss, she just didn't know what was going on or what rules she was being fed with at the moment, her head was twirling.

Oswald cleared his throat as he straightened up his tie and folded his arms.

"The last but not the least, the tenth rule, which I also term as the eleventh commandment," he said, his gaze hardening as he leaned in slightly, "If you disobey or forget these rules... I punish you."

She gasped, her heart racing in fear, but she said nothing. Oswald's cold, emotionless voice sent shivers through her.

Then came the final blow.

"Any questions?" He asked, his voice purred.

Orlanda licked her dry lips, now feeling dizzy.

"I... I can't remember all of them," she whispered helplessly.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.

I thought I was waking up in the arms of Arthur, the man I loved. But as the morning light hit the Hamptons estate, the man buttoning his cuffs by the window turned around with eyes like chips of ice. It was Augustus Riddle, Arthur’s cruel younger brother, and I had just spent the night whispering confessions of love into the wrong man's ear. The night I thought was a beautiful beginning turned into a devastating nightmare. Instead of comfort, Gus treated me like a stain on his expensive carpet, scribbling a check for "services rendered" before shoving me into a dark service corridor to hide my existence from his brother. "How much does it cost to buy your silence?" He sneered, before leaving me barefoot in a torrential downpour while he drove away in a luxury Cadillac. Four years later, I am a struggling actress in Los Angeles, working double shifts as a barista just to keep the lights on. My life was finally stable until my roommate dragged me to a high-end dinner to meet her new "influential" boyfriend. The man sitting at the table, looking more arrogant and lethal than ever, was Augustus. He spent the entire night humiliating me, calling me a pathetic amateur and a social climber in front of my only friends. When I fled into the rain and collapsed on the sidewalk, skinning my knee until I bled, he watched from his car. He saw me clutching a plastic baggie containing the taped-together pieces of that four-year-old check—the only proof of my shame. He looked at me like roadkill, rolled up his window, and drove off into the dark. I couldn't understand why he was doing this. Why did he hate me enough to crush me, yet remember that I couldn't handle the smell of cigarette smoke? Why did he leave me bleeding in the street, only to send expensive medical supplies and coffee to my door the very next morning? "I'm moving out." I told my roommates, realizing that Gus Riddle didn't just want to destroy me; he wanted to haunt me. I grabbed my suitcase and walked out with eighty dollars to my name, finally ready to disappear into the city before he could burn the rest of my life to the ground.

For seven years, I drank the bitter tonic my fiancé, Alpha Adrian, gave me, believing it would cure my "wolfless" defect. I was wrong. It was poison. He wasn't trying to heal me; he was keeping me weak so he could replace me with my foster sister, Ariel. When the fire consumed the Alpha's Wing, I was trapped under a burning beam, my legs crushed. Adrian kicked down the door. I reached out to him, screaming for help. But he didn't look at me. He looked at Ariel, who was lying on the floor in a silk nightgown. He scooped her up, cradling her like she was the only thing that mattered. I begged him not to leave me. Instead of helping, he used his Alpha Command on me, his voice booming with supernatural weight. "Stay put! I'll be back for you!" It was a lie. He used his power to freeze me in the inferno and left me to burn alive. I survived, only to watch him publicly reject me for her the next day, with my own father's blessing. They called me a "genetic dead end." They thought I would crawl away and die in shame. I didn't. I limped up the mountain to the Neutral Lands to find the one man everyone fears-the exiled Alpha, Garth Morgan. "I have the Gamma Bloodline Scroll," I told the massive figure emerging from the shadows. "I don't want your gratitude," Garth growled, his eyes like storm clouds. "I'm not here for gratitude," I replied, staring him down. "I'm here to make a deal with the devil."
