Chapter 1 1

After a long hectic day, She thought its a nice idea to visit her fiancé. A surprised visit at that. She rest her head on the window as the public bus moved rather slowly on the road, the traffic was gradually clearing off.

"Hmm..." She heaved out a long and deep sigh. "Too bad, getting stuck in traffic after a long day."

She keeps mumbling words to herself, earning a weird look from her seat partner. But what? She doesn't care, all she cared about was getting home real fast to rest her tired bone.

Cars keep honking loudly which annoys her to the core. 'Why making so much noise after being stuck in the traffic?' She thought as she let out an aggressive hiss.

After what seems like an eternity, the road was cleared as the bus increased its speed. Her mood lightened up a bit as she noticed the new change, clear smile on her face even though its almost near invisible.

"Finally, just when I thought I'll be buried in this traffic." She muttered all to herself, chuckling at her own statement. Buried, eh?

More than twenty minutes pass and sooner than expected or maybe she has been expecting this, the bus stopped at her bus stop as she quickly highlights from it.

The small smile on her face suddenly disappeared, her expression getting void. "Eh...!" She groaned as she remembered she still have few trekking to do before she finally get to her destination. "This is too bad! Way too bad for me."

She has no other option and she knows that, she clutched her bag tightly under her armpit as she treaded faster on the lone road. Not that it's really that lonely since there are few passersby on the road too.

Megan got to her destination as she input the security passcode and entered the huge house.

"Surprise...?!" She blurted out, with a smile on her face but for no response. She stared around the sitting room but no traces of her fiancé.

"Weird! He's always here every evening when he is back from work, what's wrong today?" She asked no one with her brows creased. "Maybe he is resting in his room."

"Rhett...?"

She dropped her bag on one of the couches before racing upstairs. Just a few steps away from the stairs, she received the shock of her life.

These are females' shoes and a red lacy gown and wait... Panties and brazier too? These aren't hers! She was a thousand and more percent sure about this!

Why is her eyes suddenly giving her the wrong sight?

Or does... does that mean...?!

'don't think that way, girl...' Her subconscious hit her.

"It better not be! I should be in a dream instead or maybe hallucinating..." She groaned, strutting her feet to Rhett's bedroom.

A soft sound that came up like moan was heard as soon as she got to Rhett's bedroom doorpost. "Why am I suddenly going nut this evening? Or is it due to the stress I went through today?" She muttered as she pressed her temple with her left hand and used the other to open the door.

'Bang...!' What she saw nearly made her fall unconscious on the floor.

Rhett was... was buried in between Reina's thigh. They were both engrossed in the shit they were having together that they did not acknowledge her presence. Maybe because they did not notice her or they probably decide to ignore her?

Her heart almost flew out of its position as she felt it jumped down to her stomach, her head was banging as her vision was almost blurry.

"Rhett...?!" She growled as her eyes was filled with undefined rage.

Rhett on the other hand and was not expecting Megan's visit froze in between what he is doing, same applies to Reina too.

"What in fuck's name are you doing with my best friend, Rhett?" Megan gnarled, glaring hell and him. "After engaging me, you decided to cheat on me with my best friend? Huh?!"

Rhett wore a defiant look on his face still buried in between Reina's thigh. "How dare you barge into my bedroom without my permission?" He growled, not feeling a bit remorseful. "I engaged you, so what?"

Megan was shocked as she stared at him with her mouth slightly open. "Really, Rhett?"

"Please ignore her and let's continue with our steamy session, babe..." Reina moaned as she clasped her legs tightly around Rhett's waist, earning a small moan from him.

"How dare you, Reina! How dare you do shit with my fiancé?" Megan wanted to yell but her voice was barely escaping a whisper. Her knees felt weak as hot tears welled up around her eyes.

She wished she could slap Reina hard on her face to help her reset her senses but she wasn't that strong to stand up for what's rightfully hers. Even if she has the strength, what's she supposed to do when he's feeling nothing near remorse?

"I'm calling this engagement off, Rhett! This is the highest of the humiliation I can withstand." She uttered, her voice croaked with pain and bitterness laced in it. With tears rushing down her face like a waterfall, she pulled the engagement ring from her finger and dropped it carelessly on the floor.

Rhett was already back on his business, caring less about whatever Megan is saying or doing. Reina let out a loud seductive moan, grinding her hips rhythmically against Rhett.

Megan was clearly disgusted by their sight as she rushed out of the room, banging the door loudly.

"Be sure to lock my door on your way out, Megan!" Rhett yelled loudly after Megan disappearing figure. Reina chuckled lightly at his statement.

"Loose soul...!" Rhett cursed under his breath, finally letting his full focus on Reina.

"We are going much more crazier than this, Rhett. I'm all yours tonight, do to my body whatever justice it deserves." Reina moaned out, still grinding hard on Rhett.

"Of course, princess. I'll be sure to do a lot of dirty things with your body tonight, just be ready for it..." Rhett groaned in pleasure, burying himself deeper inside Reina.

"That loose soul can't spoil the fun he is going to have tonight..." He thought as he wear a lopsided smirk on his face.

I sat on the cold tile floor of our Upper East Side penthouse, staring at the two pink lines until my vision blurred. After ten years of loving Julian Sterling and three years of a hollow marriage, I finally had the one thing that could bridge the distance between us. I was pregnant. But Julian didn't come home with flowers for our anniversary. He tossed a thick manila envelope onto the marble coffee table with a heavy thud. Fiona, the woman he'd truly loved for years, was back in New York, and he told me our "business deal" was officially over. "Sign it," He said, his voice flat and devoid of emotion. He looked at me with the cold detachment of a man selling a piece of unwanted furniture. When I hesitated, he told me to add a zero to the alimony if the money wasn't enough. I realized in that moment that if he knew about the baby, he wouldn't love me; he would simply take my child and give it to Fiona to raise. I shoved the pregnancy test into my pocket, signed the papers with a shaking hand, and lied through my teeth. When my morning sickness hit, I slumped to the floor to hide the truth. "It's just cramps," I gasped, watching him recoil as if I were contagious. To make him stay away, I invented a man named Jack-a fake boyfriend who supposedly gave me the kindness Julian never could. Suddenly, the man who wanted me gone became a monster of possessiveness. He threatened to "bury" a man who didn't exist while leaving me humiliated at his family's dinner to rush to Fiona's side. I was so broken that I even ate a cake I was deathly allergic to, then had to refuse life-saving steroids at the hospital because they would harm the fetus. Julian thinks he's stalling the divorce for two months to protect the family's reputation for his father's Jubilee. He thinks he's keeping his "property" on a short leash until the press dies down. He has no idea I'm using those sixty days to build a fortress for my child. By the time he realizes the truth, I'll be gone, and the Sterling heir will be far beyond his reach.

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. Mia Meyers was born to rule her father's empire (so she thought), until he named his bastard son heir instead. Stefan Sterling knows the sting of betrayal too. His father discarded him like trash. Now the rivals' disgraced children have a poisonous proposal: Marry for vengeance. Crush their fathers' legacies. Never speak of divorce. Whoever cracks first loses everything. Can these two rivals, united by their vengeful hearts, pull off a marriage of convenience to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs? Or will their fathers' animosity, and their own complicated pasts tear their fragile alliance apart?
